Lie = Your glowing vs Truth = Your sweating, freezing, puking and an emotional basket!

Lie = After the first trimester your ms will disappear vs The truth = It will be there in the second trimester and the third..... and probably after you give birth! Get used to it!

Lie = You don't look even look pregnant vs The truth = whatever, you look pregnant from space!

Lets see what we learn from the second trimester! Grin Wink

nature thats what I should have done instead of raging around the house like a teenager! I am impressed and you deserve a trip to the wool shop! Grin

extracrunchy · 06/07/2013 09:07

We're going to Westfield today to shop for holiday/imminent bump. Dreading it.....

MrsVDB · 06/07/2013 09:13

nature I've got 2, sprout and the baby centre pregnancy one. Sprout has good weekly pictures and 'doc says' part and the baby centre one is a bit more woffly but has good weekly updates and pictures of what it looks like in relation to your body if you see what I mean

Naturegirl82 · 06/07/2013 09:15

extra you're brave facing Westfield on a Saturday. I'm just going to venture down the local shops.

I'll have to make sure I don't buy too much wool as if that is going to happen I've seen a gorgeous bootie pattern so hopefully I can find something suitable for them.

Naturegirl82 · 06/07/2013 09:17

Thanks mrsvdb I've seen a few people mention sprout but I couldn't find it. is it only available on iphone do you know or am I just being technologically challenged?!

TobyLerone · 06/07/2013 09:20

I thought about Westfield today but DH made plans for us to meet up with his friend early afternoon which puts paid to doing much with the day at all. Stupid time to meet!

I've just had a giant paddy about looking fat. I look best in more fitted things atm -- pregnant instead of fat. But all my fitted stuff is too hot :( so I'm wearing a maxi skirt and loose t-shirt and look fat. Even DH said so. Grrrrr!

lovelilies · 06/07/2013 09:24

mornin all Grin
I've just got some lovely pale grey super soft double knit... but 'unisex' baby patterns are hard to find Sad got loads of little girl ones I used for dd, but I'm sure this is going to be a boy (based on absolutely nothing!Grin )

lovelilies · 06/07/2013 09:26

Btw, what/where is Westfield? I'm on a limb in North Yorkshire so very detached from the rest of the UK, and dp (a London boy) hates it!

Sultanajo · 06/07/2013 09:41

Lol Toby. Sounds like you are having a similar day to me! Feel like just sitting in a cool paddling pool all day. We have one of DHs colleagues leaving do next Friday and am dreading it clothes wise! Stupid hot weather! DH doesnt comment unless I ask him to, but I can see it in his face! He asked the other day "when is your bump going to be baby rather than bloat?" He didnt mean anything by it, but its hard hearing your own insecurities coming from someone else.....

MrsVDB · 06/07/2013 09:42

nature I just checked and its only for iPad or iPhone I'm afraid.

love it's a big shopping centre

Sultanajo · 06/07/2013 09:43

nature I have an android phone and use the "what to expect when your expecting" app which I have found quite good. It gives weekly updates and daily tips....

MrsVDB · 06/07/2013 09:46

sultana my dh said something similar to me the other day when we were at that early pregnancy evening as all the other people obviously didnt get the prior to 20 weeks memo as they were all about to pop so I said to dh well if you didn't know me I could get away with being 6 months if I stick it out a bit ( I think I look quite pregnant ) to which he said yeah but yours is too low to be a baby!! Ha ha. Then he accidentally said come on chubbs to me! Tried to hide it and said he'd tried to say chicken ha ha

Naturegirl82 · 06/07/2013 09:47

Haha just got my comeuppance for feeling pleased with myself for having done the housework. All my clothes racks just toppled over sending everything flying! Really should buy a proper wardrobe!

farmersdaughter · 06/07/2013 09:47

Hormonal, tried and grumpy! Whoop happy Saturday.

Next week I am 12 wks, thank goodness, what a slog the last few weeks have been. Wink

How is everyone doing today? Anything nice plan for a sunny weekend. We are off to MIL for the day, we are going to tell her about DC2. We never see them, it's very odd. And she's moving overseas so now it will be once in a blue moon.

Toby - last night I dreamt of lemon curb Blush

Sultanajo · 06/07/2013 09:59

Oh no nature! Get down that wool shop quick and get to your happy place! Grin

mrsv I too look quite preggers, but I know its mostly bloat, so dont feel as though I can wear tops that will really accentuate it yet, especially in case someone asks to touch it - they would basically be touching bloat and a few too many tubs of ben and jerrys! Blush

"come on chubbs"! Lol! DH said something similar the other day with a twinkle in his eye - good job wasnt feeling the rage that day!,Grin

BookTart · 06/07/2013 10:03

Wish I'd dreamt of lemon curd farmers. Instead, I keep having dreams that various men at work are the father! Very disturbing, and it makes meetings quite tricky :)

Cheers for asking Toby. I think the spotting is slowing down but the sharp cramping and backache haven't gone away. I guess unless I start bleeding it is just a case of waiting for the swab results to see if I have an infection. I'm upset at the lack of help from midwife (who hasn't been in touch since cancelling on me last Saturday), and from DP who thinks I am being "mental". I will now try to snap out of it :)

Have fun clothes shoppers!

Sultanajo · 06/07/2013 10:21

book you dont need to snap out of it! You are doing what comes naturally - worrying! Am sure if bubs was growing in your DP he would be just the same! Good to hear there is no bleeding at the moment. Its so hard not knowing why you experience certain symptoms isnt it! Dont forget there is always the Tommys pregnancy line thats available during the week if you want to chat to a midwife and yours isnt being very helpful! I have used them several times and they have been amazing! Grin

enormouse · 06/07/2013 11:11

I was thinking of getting a crochet hook and some wool and making the little hat on the mumsnet homepage (under the guidance of the local knitting/crochet group). I haven't done anything crafty for ages.

If you can take it easy book do so. My spotting improved quite a bit after a lazy day yesterday. I spent the day reading stuff on my kindle and watching blackadder.

We have a bbq tonight, which I don't particularly want to go to. So I'll decide later whether to go or not. My DPs sister is there and she specialises in being the centre of attention and likes talking in monologues (mainly about herself).

Toothfairy78 · 06/07/2013 13:05

Happy 12-weeks farmer!

Ooh wool! Just spoke to MIL who is happily stashing for two. She's found a new wool shop near her and some swanky patterns to knit. I am knitting an elephant off knitty.com for friend. Most summon up some resolve to sew up the allosaurus I knitted last week too.

Then onto some knitting for Tooth Jr and Fred Jr!

Am off to Reading today, let's see if I can behave at the John Lewis!

And need some bigger more comfy bras too...wires=ouch.

Have yourselves a fab Saturday ladies!

Naturegirl82 · 06/07/2013 16:17

Well I was very refrained in the wool shop even though there was a sale on. Got some lovely wool to make a hat and booties with. That's me sorted for tomorrow now Grin

farmersdaughter · 06/07/2013 19:03

Tooth - where do you live? I'm not far from Reading.

eccentrica · 06/07/2013 19:05

Hello all

I had a bad fall yesterday - caught my foot in my handbag strap and fell face down on the floor. Took most of the impact on my hands and legs but still fell on my belly, not nice Sad

I went to the hospital and they scanned me, everything looked fine - baby was wriggly and heartbeat good - and have had no bleeding or cramping, but I am still feeling bit freaked out and post-traumatic today. Wish I could get checked again for reassurance.

Spent the day at a picnic birthday party but have now come home and keep reliving the moment i fell. I had enough time while falling to think "I can't believe this is happening, ffs" while my 2yo stood there saying "Oh mum, you fell over, why did you do that?" Grin

What a stupid thing to do Confused

Hope you are all having less clumsy and more successful weekends than me!

TobyLerone · 06/07/2013 19:54

Oh, eccentrica, how scary for you. If it makes you feel any better, I fell flat on my face/boobs/bump when I was about 5 months pg with DS. I was playing rounders at a nurses' picnic Blush
As soon as they knew I was ok, they ripped the piss out of me, mercilessly :o
At least I could feel DS moving then, so I knew he was ok. He protested quite violently at the interruption!

Your baby is so small and so well-cushioned. It'll be fine. It's hard not to worry, but honestly it won't even have noticed.

Book, your DP needs to stfu and be nice...or else!

BookTart · 06/07/2013 20:06

Blimey eccentrica, that sounds scary. I'm glad they scanned you and everything is fine. I know you'll worry anyway, but try not to Brew

farmersdaughter · 06/07/2013 21:09

ecce gosh how scary for you. I feel down the stairs with DD at about 37 weeks, off i went to hospital in a ambulance with all the neighbour watching. It was horrible, I really feel for you, what a stock. Hope you are resting up. Xx
