Lie = Your glowing vs Truth = Your sweating, freezing, puking and an emotional basket!

Lie = After the first trimester your ms will disappear vs The truth = It will be there in the second trimester and the third..... and probably after you give birth! Get used to it!

Lie = You don't look even look pregnant vs The truth = whatever, you look pregnant from space!

Lets see what we learn from the second trimester! Grin Wink

Congrats enjoying! so exciting!

book I'm glad your going in for a swab, stupid know it all phone doctor.

frizz fx the spotting stops soon

I dreamt I had a baby girl, I left my dad's front door open and she crawled into the road. Going to buy a travel cot to use as a playpen! Very jealous of whoever was going to the kiddicare store, I've been browsing the site for ages but DH wants to wait before going to the store (as I'll probably become very hormonal and buy everything in sight)

Frizz1986 · 03/07/2013 11:56

Thats excellent enjoying I think my little one was a bit too chilled for my liking. I am rather highly strung and easily stressed but baby was just chilling. Hopefully it's going to take after Dh!

enormouse · 03/07/2013 12:02

Aaw, how lovely enjoying Smile

enormouse · 03/07/2013 12:56

Hey guys, need you to settle a debate between my DP and I.
Non gender specific clothing, what are your thoughts on it?
DP thinks it looks like this:www.charactergrades.com/sites/default/files/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Screen-shot-2011-10-18-at-12.06.25-AM.png
As such won't even consider going in shops to look at it.
I think it can be adorable and look like this:www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-All-In-One-and-Hat/LY1864,default,pd.html

What are your thoughts?

MrsGSR · 03/07/2013 13:09

Awww, I love the all in one! I may have to buy it...

We're getting all neutral clothes, even though we hope to find out the sex. We want to use it again in the future and I love grey anyway :) it's just as cute and more practical!

Apparentlychilled · 03/07/2013 13:10

Just got my scan date through- 18 July. And also seeing consultant on 24 July, as DS was prem (though a v healthy weight and didn't go into SCBU, so I'm not worried, and I think seeing the consultant is just a formality).

Things are a bit hectic here (my daughter is starting school in Sept, so lots of things on at school and preschool as term ends; work starting on our house in 5 weeks, so getting ready to move out and also trying to finish specifying things for our 32 week build; trying to do work for my clients and for college) and I'm feeling v overwhelmed. DH is away monday to friday so though I have childcare, I do feel a bit alone w it all. I think I remember from being pg w DS that feeling overwhelmed and a bit emotional is kind of how it goes.

Anyone else struggling w normal life at this stage in their pregnancy?

Apparentlychilled · 03/07/2013 13:11

enorm- loving the grey babysuit- v cute! Go for it!- you'll get lots of blue or pink cardis and hats etc once LO arrives, so neutrals are the way forward!

fryingpantoface · 03/07/2013 13:12

I like it enormouse I think grey looks lovely on babies

bettyboo83 · 03/07/2013 13:22

Well scan went well, phew! Little beanlet jumping all over the place which was lovely. I'm a little bit further on too so new due date 9th January. Feel I can relax a bit now.

There are loads of lovely neutral clothes. We didn't find out with DS so bought neutral things and they are so cute. Like apparentlychilled said, you'll be inundated with blue or pink when your LO arrives!

enormouse · 03/07/2013 13:33

definitely apparently. I usually teach classes for preschoolers and I've had to cancel them for the next month. I study part time too and I'm fortunate that I'm on holiday till september. I feel like my iron is really low, but the mw couldn't take bloods at my booking appt so can't confirm or give me anything. Could your iron be low, apparently?

Thanks ladies, I love it too. There's a lovely grey range on sale atm. (Cheaper in stores that online btw). Every time I suggest to DP he just says "neutral clothing - hermaphroditic burlap sack"

enormouse · 03/07/2013 13:34

Congrats for your scan betty Smile

MrsAVB · 03/07/2013 13:39

Good luck today toby!
mouse that first picture made me spit my drink out. I am going to tell DH that's how I want our baby to be dressed and see how he reacts. We will be going as neutral as possible too... Without turning down any presents of course! But I also don't care if boy baby is wearing pink or vice versa.
enjoying congrats on a lovely scan!
X

Apparentlychilled · 03/07/2013 13:40

congrats Betty and good luck toby

Apparentlychilled · 03/07/2013 13:42

enorm- apparently it's not safe to take iron before 15 weeks, so that may be why your mw held off bloods. I was nearly anaemic w DS, so they'll keep an eye on me. But in the meantime I've just to try to eat well (and not just eat bread and nutella....).

I feel really down w it all and have been in tears this lunchtime (which isn't helping me get things done). I feel like I'm really crap not to just be getting on with everything.

TarkaTheOtter · 03/07/2013 14:05

Oh Apparently it sounds like you've got loads going on as well as all the pregnancy hormones - no wonder you're feeling overwhelmed. Will you be able to take a break when dh gets back at the weekend?

Apparentlychilled · 03/07/2013 14:13

Yeah, should do. And he's been great at entertaining DC on the weekends so I can just sleep. But I find even that depressing- all I seem to do is sleep!

Apparentlychilled · 03/07/2013 14:16

sorry- about to vanish to look after DC. thanks though

enormouse · 03/07/2013 14:17

apparently do you have family/friends nearby that could take your DC for an afternoon so you can have a break?

MrsRApilot · 03/07/2013 14:37

Congrats to all who've had good scans :-)

Haven't posted much the past day or two - been rather ill - it appears DH and I have some sort of flu type illness. Not good. Feeling slightly better today but had a bit of a downer - while eating toast for breakfast with DH promptly vomited on the plate in front of me with precisely .05 seconds warning. I've been vomiting daily anyway but vomiting onto my plate is a new low. All in all not a great start to the day. Completely understand the ladies who are emotional/overwhelmed at the minute as I feel exactly the same today. I bawled like a baby yesterday because the dog had an accident in the house. Definitely had an extra shot of hormones these past few days!

Frogcatcher · 03/07/2013 15:00

I'm sure I cry daily at something. Yesterday I photocopied a load of docs that i was sending to the solicitor for my flat sale & promptly left all the copies in a folder in the post office. I cried in the car on the way home when I realised. Blush

Scan gate continues- almost 3pm & no promised call from the hospital to arrange my 16 weeks by the time I get it 12 week scan. I think the odds are quite short on me getting one aren't they?

Apparentlychilled · 03/07/2013 15:56

enorm- thanks for that suggestion. PIL are nearby but v judgmental about me "not coping" w my dc (even when that "not coping" includes pnd) so I'm loathe to call them. I have child care tomorrow though, so just need to get to bedtime tonight.

fryingpantoface · 03/07/2013 16:03

I'm so happy!

After worrying all the time that we were going to have a scan and the baby was dead (morbid I know) I decided, just before, to try seeing if I could hear the heartbeat on the Doppler.

I did! It sounds like a steam train brilliant!

fryingpantoface · 03/07/2013 16:22

I meant

Chuff is something quite different ha ha
