Lie = Your glowing vs Truth = Your sweating, freezing, puking and an emotional basket!

Lie = After the first trimester your ms will disappear vs The truth = It will be there in the second trimester and the third..... and probably after you give birth! Get used to it!

Lie = You don't look even look pregnant vs The truth = whatever, you look pregnant from space!

Lets see what we learn from the second trimester! Grin Wink

MrsAVB god that's shitty. You shouldn't have all the responsibility for planning - THEY should. That's why they're the bosses.
Expect a similar rant from me in a week when I tell my cuntpuffin boss. We don't have a staff handbook, let alone a 'maternity policy'. We only just had it put into contracts that such a thing existed...

enormouse PHEW. Stand down dressing gowns and murderous glares. Sleep well!

Right, you 'orrible lot, I'm signing off for a week. Don't do anything I wouldn't do, look after yourselves, and I expect many new scan stories/pics when I return. Shall be thinking of all of you while I'm away.

Penny31 · 02/07/2013 22:22

humpty I'm so jealous of your trip to Carcassone! I love it there!

Yey for all th good scans today and pleased toby got sorted :)

bettyboo83 · 02/07/2013 22:26

Hey everyone, I've been watching but not had much chance to post. By the time I've thought of a comment you lot are onto the next topic!! 12 weeks tomorrow and I have my scan in the morning so wish me luck. I haven't had a scan yet so am getting a bit nervous in case they tell me I've imagined the whole thing... Hmm

chocoloulou33 · 02/07/2013 22:32

Welcome bettyboo good luck with your scan 2moro :) let us know x

MrABC · 02/07/2013 23:24

toby eek, due to it being such a secret at the mo, that's the first time anyone's referred to me as a potential dad!

Frizz Hmm, it's the general feeling of helplessness that's the problem with the sickness. I'm obviously always sympathetic and helpful 100% of the time though Wink

choco thanks for the info. Sounds like the whole region is affected. Will still be waiting to check the post eagerly each day!

Thanks again for all the latest welcomes. Biscuit biscuits all round.

TobyLerone · 02/07/2013 23:31

Sorry for scaring you, MrA! Are you my DH?!

MrsAVB, that is outrageous! One of the major pitfalls of working for a small company no HR dept and nobody knows their arse from their elbow. I think you could probably get them in a fair bit of trouble with the relevant authorities for not having a maternity policy in place, if you were so inclined. And check your rights don't let them ask you to do anything they're not allowed to ask.

Good luck tomorrow, betty :)

Thank goodness, enormouse! I bet they packed up early because they'd heard about your Rage :o

Have fun, humpty!

TobyLerone · 03/07/2013 05:47

Morning, all. I beat pod to the thread this morning!

Bloody sodding DH just knocked his 'phone on the floor and it woke me up. He's gone straight back to sleep the cuntpuffin.

MrsVDB · 03/07/2013 07:11

Good luck everyone with scans today!!

chocoloulou33 · 03/07/2013 07:19

Can I call my cat a cuntpuffin? Bloody woke me up at 5.30 jumping on my head grrrrrr! Have been awake since. Its like having another child, a rly naughty one! X

TobyLerone · 03/07/2013 07:36

I hate cats. Call it what you like :o

BookTart · 03/07/2013 07:57

Morning all. Some cuntpuffin has broken into my garage overnight and stolen a load of stuff :( Have left partner at home to repair the damage. We've had so many break ins and attempted break ins since we moved in 20 months ago, this place is terrible!

However, I will not let the gits get me down! Good luck today toby and all the other scan people :)

Frizz1986 · 03/07/2013 08:13

Good luck with scans today.

book that's awful. Hope u manage to get some things back.

Have started spotting again this morning. Have a feeling I am never going to relax during this pg. Am 12+5 today so am hoping that it's the same as the last spotting which was at 8 weeks, but i don't think i can cope with spotting every 4 weeks. It's terrifying. Anyone else experienced the same. It's got me on a negative as we have just told everyone and now I am freaking out that it's going to go wrong.
I thought I was supposed to get a bit more confident after the 12 week scan.
I know I just need to keep an eye on it and if it gets worse call the midwives.

Frogcatcher · 03/07/2013 08:17

Oh book that's terrible. Let me at burglars with my pg rage. Some school kids almost got it for littering yesterday until I thought better of it!

One of our cats (we have 3) is also a cuntpuffin for leaving a half eaten mouse in the kitchen. SS cleared it up bless him but then left it in a sandwich bag on the side for me & DP to see!

fryingpantoface · 03/07/2013 08:18

Oh my gosh book that's awful!

Welcome MrABC

Yesterday I went to Blackpool zoo. There were 27, that's right 27 school trips on that day. I was fuming! They really should have told us. The kids weren't that bad, but the parent helpers were awful! One kid knocked DS out of the way so she could see the lions, then, instead of helping, her Aunt Beryl knocked me out the way so she could see too. I was actually raging!

So i'm going to email the Zoo. If i'd have known there were going to be so many children there, we would have gone today instead.

Today i'm going to check out the Kiddicare shop in Aintree with my mom. It should be ace. I'm going to coo over tiny outfits, test drive prams, and then not buy anything because the scan is on Friday. :-)

MrsAVB · 03/07/2013 08:39

Morning!
Thanks for listening to me rant about work. I'm not going to do any of the things they've asked until they give me the maternity policy and I'm clear on the stuff I need to be clear on. Besides, I think 25 weeks is the latest you have to let them know... I only told them so early cos of the vomming. It's just stressing me out when it's a busy time in my role anyway.
humpty have a fabby holiday. Am going away for a few days too. FX for nice weather.
book grr at the CUNTPUFFIN burglars. Hope the damage wasn't too bad and is quick to sort out.
frizz hope you are ok, get it checked out if you're worried.
pan that sounds like hell. Stupid zoo! Hope you have a more chilled day today..

Penny31 · 03/07/2013 09:04

book I'm sorry about the burglary. It amazes me how they do it without waking anyone in the street up. I hope they catch the buggers!

frizz sorry you are spotting it must be a worry but I'm sure it's nothing if you had a healthy scan. No harm in seeing someone to out your mind at rest though.

pan maybe if you complain you will get free tickets for another time :)

Penny31 · 03/07/2013 09:06

Oh and toby good luck for your scan today ( it is today right?) ask lots of questions and drag it out as long as you can, after what you went through to get seen you deserve it!

extracrunchy · 03/07/2013 09:20

Book what a nightmare...

Toby good luck today!!

LittlePeaPod · 03/07/2013 09:42

Apparently I am in Huddersfield and Calderdale (not picked one yet) also the option to go to Leeds. My 12 week scan was at Huddersfield.

Toby great news and good luck for your scan.... Yeeeaaaaaa Grin. With regards the anaemia. I had to have two tests as the thought I may have been a carrier as my aunt was a carrier but it turned out alright. Good luck.. OMG Toby you went natural birth with no pain relief! Woooowwwwww.. she says feeling shamed she knows she is such a chicken I slept in this morning... Lol Grin

Humpty congratulations on the scan news.... What a gorgeous picture of your little one.. Smile have a fantastic holiday...

Frog hopefully this will get sorted quickly for you now. I can't remember the last time I faxed anything. In fact I don't even know if we have a fax in our office anymore!

Sultanajo / Frog home birth scares the bejesus out of me. actually giving birth scares the bejesus out of me I am still on the selective C-Section route..... Lol

Nature I get those stretchy pains on and off all the time. It's the uterus growing my MW says so nothing to worry about.

Book sorry to hear the news. Can you speak to your MW? Normally GP don't have as much knowledge on pg related illness. I would assume you need swabs to diagnose anything like that. I am also really shocked how some of these MW never respond to texts. What's the point in having a mobile if you don't bleeding well respond. Really sorry to hear about the break in.

Welcome and congratulations Betty*. Good luck for the scan...

Frizz sorry to hear about the spotting. Hopefully it will stop soon. If it helps I am 13+6 and I still worry and knicker check every time I go to the loo.

MrsAVB that's appalling regarding the ML policy. They need to sort their shit out. 25 weeks is the latest you need to give them the MatB form from your MW.

Well I had another nightmare last night. I had to have an operation were this really dodgy dr. in a really dodgy dirty surgery had to cut me open from my breast bone to just above my tummy. I was wide awake through the whole thing and kept saying I am pg please don't do this.... Really freaked me out when I woke up. That's the worst dream yet!!

Also discovered this morning I can no longer lie on my tummy as I can actually feel my uterus getting pressed on. Not comfy.

Hope you have a lovely day ladies and gent.

TobyLerone · 03/07/2013 10:01

Thanks for all the good luck messages! I won't be late this time :o

Right. Burglars and spotting, you should fuck right off now. NOW.

Useless MWs and GPs, you should fuck off too.

Crap bosses and workplaces, yep, you guessed it -- fuck right off.

School trips and uterus pains should also fuck right off.

And nightmares ...you know what to do.

As for the pain-relief-free birth -- it was honestly great. If I could do that one again, I would. I wouldn't repeat the epidural one for anything.
And I'm a chicken too, pod. During my labour with DD (the pain-relief-free one), they threatened me with a c-section because they were worried about the cord prolapsing if they broke my waters because her head never engaged. The thought of a c-section (or indeed any surgery) gives me The Fear and I panicked and cried until my mum reminded me that I was 23 Blush

Frizz1986 · 03/07/2013 10:10

toby love it. Rant away!

Called the midwife and she just said to keep an eye on it if there is no smell or thrush signs. I don't think it smells, would it be really strong?
Am gonna book my 16 week app today so might just book to see the gp when I call to test there are no infections just to be sure. My discharge has always been a bit random even before I was pg so i don't know if I'd notice if something was wrong (maybe a bit tmi for this time of day)

Frogcatcher · 03/07/2013 10:18

I have the hospital fear too toby. Never stayed overnight in one, never had a general anaesthetic or been anywhere apart from outpatients. I had a LEETZ procedure (or whatever it's called) last year & cried like a baby with my legs up in stirrups so dread to think what I'd be like in labour. I just think I want to be as relaxed as possible, in my own house with my own food & drink & able to move around as the whole process is going to take bloody hours & DP will be more relaxed too. Got 6 months to work on him!

BookTart · 03/07/2013 10:21

Heh, toby has the preggo rage today - hope that receptionist behaves herself at the scan or there could be carnage! Grin

frizz hope you're okay. I had very light spotting on the day my period would have been due, I think it is fairly common. Fingers crossed it buggers off soon.

Just called labour ward and asked a midwife about my doctor's phone diagnosis. She was v. impressed with doc's amazing skills over the phone (not!) and so I've made an appointment to see a nurse for a swab tomorrow. Can't help feeling that NHS care here is a bit hit and miss...

TobyLerone · 03/07/2013 10:30

I hear you so much, Frog. A HB sounds like heaven to me. I think DH is relieved that they've categorically said no to me having one, but he hasn't seen me freak out in a hospital yet Wink

I've stayed overnight in hospital loads of times, including both times I had babies, and had loads of operations under GA. Every time it happens I turn into a giant baby.

Still, labour/delivery/postnatal is different to all other hospital stays. It's not that bad, really.

Glad you phoned, Book. What a knob. I'll have even more rage if I have to wait an hour to have my bloods done!

Hope everything settles down for you today, Frizz.

enjoyingscience · 03/07/2013 11:01

Just back from my 12 week scan, I have one very wriggly baby in there! So relieved, I had built myself up into a bit if a state that there would be something wrong.

Good luck to the others having scans today :)
