Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Ask the MW doing the scan misskatamari, I'd love to record mine too as this is my last pregnancy but I think its at their discretion. A friend was allowed to record hers as her husband works away and she explained that she wanted to email it to him. Big smile, spin a good yarn, and hope they're in a generous mood? :)

Bearfrills · 12/07/2013 17:07

£5!? I thought ours were steep at £3

Elednor · 12/07/2013 17:11

I'm poking my head round the door again Smile. Trying to remain optimistic about my pregnancy after losing one of the twins, I'm 9 weeks today! Got another scan on the 23rd to see how the other twin is doing, DP and I have been ummming and ahhhhing about having another private scan before then as we're not totally sure what's going on with twin one (nobody's sure!) but money is an issue Confused. We're supposed to be paying our Disneyland holiday off in September and we still have some credit card debt from the last time we went to Disney Blush. DP would be happy to do it if it would make me feel better but I'm not sure if I can justify the £100 scan cost to myself! Grin

Anyone else had their home visit from the midwife yet? What sort of things do they discuss? I never had this with DD 5 years ago, not sure if it was being done then or maybe not in my area as I was up north then!

Our scan price is £2 but mw said the particular sonographer we are seeing does loads of pics for that (but shhh we are not supposed to say, as they aren't supposed to!)

We have just spent an hour tidying house for mil coming round - feel in bits now cos of the heat!

Elednor · 12/07/2013 17:51

Our private scan was definitely worth it to see the heartbeat (and at least I got a picture of my twin before they died) but it's not necessary Smile I find scans reassuring, but my other friend who's had quite a few said it reassured her for all of a day and then she was a wreck again!

Ugh yes I'm going to have to have at least a presentable home for my visit Grin As long as the MW doesn't go snooping through any cupboards, otherwise it'll be like a scene from a comedy film where she opens the door and tonnes of junk falls on her! Grin

We can have a race Champagnebubble, who can have the first baby? Smile You have a day lead on me but DD was born 3 weeks early so I reckon that tips the scales more in my favour Grin

misskatamari · 12/07/2013 18:05

Yaaaay thats fab about the scan appointment! Bet you can't wait. I think £5 is pretty standard for piccies from them. Does it say how many you get for that?

I'm very jealous of you all with your scans booked! Still a few weeks away for me I think, still trailing at the back of the class (but should probably get used to that Wink )

I'm sure I got a few funny looks in the bloated tummy area from a nurse I was working with today. Repeated glances in that direction like she was trying to work out if I'm fat or pregnant...

Does anyone know if early/late delivery run in families? Me + DB + DS were all well over but dad and aunt were early - from the description it sounds like a spontaneous waters breaking/delivery in seconds (on the bathroom floor in one case). While quick sounds good, the bathroom floor really isn't where I imagine the action happening.

8+2 (but feeling more like 18+2 around the middle Sad )

DawnOfTheDee · 12/07/2013 19:49

sunflowered I've heard that length of pregnancy runs in families (but on the maternal side i think?)

Me and my DSis were both 10 days late. She weighed 8lb 8oz, I was 9lb 2oz. My DD was 15 days late and 10lb 10oz. All the babies on my side of the family go way over and are big. I fully expect this one to be the same!

rueyrichardson · 12/07/2013 20:06

I had a big late one last time too, Dawn. DS was 11lb. Always have admiration for those who make em big, it's quite a skill Smile. This time I hope it's not so late - and in my case both size and over due-ness were a surprise, as me and my DSis were both early and normal sized.

ldt87 · 12/07/2013 20:07

Hi everyone, who's got scans coming up?

I'm 10 weeks 3 days today and my scan is on the 22nd when I'll be 11+6. I'm still feeling sick and sore boobs, and the exhaustion is shattering! Hope everyone's feeling good xx

Shropshiremummy2b · 12/07/2013 20:11

champagne Doug (my pooch) is a gun dog so although its a first time, he's a pretty good retriever! It's his job!

Guys I'm having a baaaaad day. Still no symptoms and feeling fat and empty. Tell me there's something in there..... X

Bearfrills · 12/07/2013 20:31

My mum was induced with all four of us although her babies got smaller each time. I went into labour at 39+5 with DS and had him two days later at spot on 40wks, he was 9lb 3oz. DD was a CS so I'll never know for sure but I had a show at 40wks followed by mild contractions at 40+1 which continued right up until the CS at 40+3, she was 7lb 10oz so quite a bit smaller than DS. I'm hoping this one is smaller again!

Bearfrills · 12/07/2013 20:32

There is definitely something there Shropshire, chill and relax mama :)

And for a minute there I thought your dog was named Champagne Doug - best dog name ever :o

laura0007 · 12/07/2013 20:55

Shropshire there is definitely something in there! I have zero symptoms and I saw my little kidney bean shaped baby doing cartwheel yesterday! Grin

misskatamari · 12/07/2013 21:02

Shropshire - try not to worry, I'm sure baby is perfectly healthy and happy in there and is just being good and not making mummy feel ill and horrid. Do you know when your scan is going to be?

barebranches · 12/07/2013 21:32

Sad conjuctivitus
feeling very sorry for myself.

laura0007 · 12/07/2013 21:46
