Hiya! I just had an embarrassing moment in the hairdresser where the owner said 'oh what a lovely, neat little bump! How far along are you? 6 months?'
Cue lots of laughing from me, as I explain I'm not even 3 months yet.
'OMG' she said, 'I'm 20 weeks pregnant and not even showing yet!!'
Honestly I am massive and its impossible to hide now. But I was the same with DS so its not a shock...
I am also up every few hours to wee, which is a pain because our toilet is downstairs off the back of the kitchen. I have to run down (quietly), and navigate my way through without letting the cats out of the kitchen (or they miaow all night). By the time I've done all that I'm wide awake. Would kill for an ensuite right now!!
Jazzcat, with DS I said I would work until I gave birth and come back after 2 weeks!!
In reality I worked until 36 weeks and took a whole year off!!! DH picked up the slack for me. We run our own business selling retro swimwear online, and do every job from accounting to picking and packing so at times it is quite physical actually had it been a sedate desk job I may have carried on a bit longer but all the bending and stretching became painful.
After that year off I went back 2 days a week, and then 3. It works really well for us as it feels very balanced and I am so lucky because I just pay myself my salary regardless of how many hours I work. Obviously we have to work to ensure the business is still profitable so it isn't all a walk in the park, but I don't have to worry about a lot of the employment issues that others do.
Unusually long post from me because I am on my laptop at work and not on my phone!
