Right who was it that posted about frosties yesterday???? I caught up on the thread last night and spent my night dreaming of frosties and had to rush out to buy some this morning as all of a sudden it was the only thing I wanted to eat!!!

DS has been slightly poorly today so I got to spend the day lying around on the sofa dozing (after my frosties dash). Bliss!

lumpylumps · 11/07/2013 21:24

I'm with you champagnebubble

It's funny, I lived on frosties for the 1st 12 weeks with my previous pregnancies!

CubanoHabana · 11/07/2013 22:28

I have my booking in tomorrow, worried about them asking about which hospital though, as I live in county durham, so have a choice of 3 hospitals, 1 is 50 mins away, cclassed as outstanding, 1 has only birthing unit, so any issues would need to be transferred and 1 whoch just has a consultant ward and 40 mins away, classed as good.

I would really like to go to RVI in Newcastle (like bear), as heard really good things, has birthing pool and also consultant wing, so best of both worlds but it is classed as different county and don't know whether mw will say no... Also, randomly, it is only 30 mins away, so actually the closest!

Also stressing as past few days no symptoms and just have the fear that nothing is actually there!

For booking in apt is fmu ok?

Really want to tell work colleague tomorrow, as she is also pregnant and told me at 10weeks (although I had guessed at 5), but just worried until scan. But going out on the night with her and won't see her after next week until September... What would anyone else do?

CubanoHabana · 11/07/2013 22:30

Oops, had realised that would be that long!

Also, the cat advert uses an almost identical cat to mine - same breed, colour and attitude! When 'dog' it is him to a t, when being lazy cat, it is his sister!

laura0007 · 11/07/2013 22:31

Thanks guys. I can't stop looking at the photo although it does resemble a kidney bean more than a baby! So excited. Who is the next to have a scan?

Shropshiremummy2b · 11/07/2013 23:37

Not until the 23rd. Booooooooo.

Midwife on Sunday though for booking in.

Where do you live laura? Because I'm moving there, they don't hang about! X

vix206 · 12/07/2013 00:34

My 12 week scan is Monday GrinGrin
11+4 today

Thisisfreakingmeout · 12/07/2013 01:18

I'm booked in. Took ages, very thorough, perhaps because it was a student and tutor. Did all the height, weight, drinking, smoking, eating right bits. Took pots and pots if blood but student knew what she was doing so I don't mind!

laura0007 · 12/07/2013 06:39

Not long now then vix!

Shropshire, I'm in Lincolnshire.. But they got my dates wrong at the doctors hence why my scan was early. I get to have another one in two weeks as its too early to do the NT scan at the minute. Not that I'm complaining!

tinypolkadot · 12/07/2013 06:51

I think it was me who mentioned frosties petty sorry! They are good though aren't they? I had two bowls yesterday and just about to have another now Grin

vix206 · 12/07/2013 06:57

This thread got me buying coco pops!! I've never been a fan of Frosties Smile

rueyrichardson · 12/07/2013 07:25

Well I'm approaching the 10 weeks mark and am feeling generally better. Have stopped craving crap and now all I really want to eat are raw veg and fruit, unless the tiredness strikes when I seem to lapse and need Doritos. Which is a good thing as my tummy is mahoosive and I look very up the duff, hoping to drop a few lbs before I see the MW for booking next week so that my BMI doesn't look too awful. I just have to look at carbs to put on a stone. Last time I craved meat pies at this stage and was the size of a house so I'm hoping that bodes well for a DD this time (secretly Wink), although I'm sure I would be happy with a DS2. We've got all the stuff for a boy so that would be more economical, but I do so love baby shopping! Hope everyone feels better soon, especially my future Bookham buddy Somany.

I think you can choose the RVI cubanohabana, someone I work with is pregnant too and lives in Durham and had the option of RVI.

Thingymajigs · 12/07/2013 08:07

My bloating has stopped. Smile For weeks I've been walking around with a massive tummy and feeling heavy even though I hadn't put on any weight. Woke up yesterday and it had gone. Broccoli seems to be the culprit. I feel so much lighter. Apparently though my body is now rejecting fish and any meal bigger than a tiny plateful.
Great news about scans. I can't wait to see my baby. I was considering buying a doppler again this morning but decided against it. I'd just worry myself.
10 weeks today. Size of a prune apparently.

Thingymajigs · 12/07/2013 08:11

cubano I had the same situation yesterday. It was my last day of work as I have the summer hols off. I thought it might be a bit odd if I returned to work in Sept with a bump so I did decide to tell my boss who then told everyone else. I'm also going to a hen night at 11 weeks so I guess I'll have to tell my friends too. I can't see how it would do any harm if they know.

Ruey - i'm hoping my body does the same in terms of cravings! So far this pregnancy i've been so sick, but when i can eat all I've wanted is carbs and junk (ready salted walkers are my lifeline!). I really hope i start craving healthy food soon as normally i am obsessed with fruit and veg and healthy protein but recently have just been "yuck".

Is anyone else struggling to sleep at night? I seem to spend most of the day tired and then get in bed and just can't drop off, or if i do i wake up at about 4am and am awake for ages. Hopefully it's just the heat and not just what pregnancy is like!

Somanychanges · 12/07/2013 11:12

Missk I also keep waking up at 4 am. Started getting into the habit of taking a cold shower at that time which helped me get back to sleep.

I also have to set my alarm for 6am even though I don't have to be up until 7am, because I have to take my first tablet so by 7am I am not so sick.

I think also it's because I am going to bed so much earlier so not needing to sleep until 7am.

Hi all, sorry I haven't been on in ages. I keep trying to catch up and read to the end of the posts and by the time I get there I don't have time to say anything.
Ruey, I'm also feeling better (nausea has mostly subsided) and am reassured after my booking in app't. Midwife and student midwife were very nice and even laughed at my silly jokes.
mw: how was the epidural?
me: Amazing.
It really was. I'm hoping to avoid one this time if I'm not on the syntocin drip again but we'll see.
Very embarrassing but I just had a big cry at my desk after an ever so slightly terse remark on the phone from someone. It was a total overreaction so I am going to write it off to hormones.
Vix, very exciting about your upcoming scan. Mine is July 23, can't wait.
I have also 'spilled the beans' to way too many people, although not work yet. Still dreading that conversation.

10+4 today, yay!

tinypolkadot · 12/07/2013 11:39

I?ve been waking every couple of hours for a toilet stop, it?s very annoying as all I want to do is sleep through! I also wake about 4.30 misskatamari wide awake for an hour or two then feel like I need sleep but it?s too late because I need to go to work. So then when I get to work I feel like rubbish.

I was nearly in tears this morning because I felt so rubbish and dh wasn?t giving me the sympathy I felt I deserved.

Is anyone else waking up with a mouth dry as a sock? I swear I?m not sleeping with my mouth wide open It happens every time I wake for the loo

lyndsey90 · 12/07/2013 12:03

Laura I'm glad everything is good for you! Gives me a little more hope considering the only symptoms of pregnancy I have are longer stronger nails lol!! Tested again this morning to make sure alll is still positive. Think I'm gonna tell my mum today.

champagne I have a lot of phlegm in the back of my throat, its gross lol

jazzcat28 · 12/07/2013 12:28

My sore boobs have subsided a little but for the past 3 nights in a row I've had to get up around 1am for a massive wee. Very unlike me (am usually like a camel) so hoping this is a good sign! No sickness yet but slightly dodgy stomach. Am wondering whether this is because I've switched vitamin tablets from Boots folic acid+vit D to Pregnacare + omega 3?

My sort of supervisor at work (not official line manager) is the only person who knows and had a lovely lunch with me yesterday where we were talking about when I might want to leave work. I'm hoping to use my annual leave for 2 weeks then start ML the week of my DD meaning I should be able to stop work at 36 weeks (ish) at around 24/01/14 .

Obviously it's early days for me and who knows how I'll feel by then but does this sound ridiculous? When did you stop work with your first DC?

Would have loved to have stopped at Christmas but DD is Feb 22nd and so it's just a little too far ahead for me to use annual leave. Unless I start ML earlier than I've planned, then technically I could stop work on 2nd Jan...

Good luck to all those with scans in the coming weeks. Hugs to those still feeling poorly.
