Our hospital says in their letters that there's no need to have a full bladder. Maybe give them a ring and clarify? Although it's easier to go with a full one and empty it than go empty and have to fill it :)

Elednor · 09/07/2013 11:09

One of the twins has died. I have to go back in two weeks to see if the other one is progressing as it should.

I am utterly devastated.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 09/07/2013 11:11

Bearfrills thanks, hopefully the date will go back a little bit once I have my 12 week scan.

Generally you need a full bladder for an abdominal scan, empty for internal. I was told to go with a full bladder today, then asked to empty it when I arrived as they were going to do an internal one instead. I have always had to have a full bladder for regular scans at 12 and 20 weeks - they can get a clearer picture that way.

Bearfrills · 09/07/2013 11:15

Oh Elednor, I'm so sorry :(

heidihole · 09/07/2013 11:18

Keep reading about people losing weight with sickness. I just feel queasy and want to eat carbs/cake to make feeling go away. Put on 3lb so far at 8+6. bMI is 29 already eeek

Really wanted to try and control weight gain this time :(

SugarMiceInTheRain · 09/07/2013 11:19

Sorry cross posted. Elednor I am so so sorry :( Wishing you loads of strength for the next couple of weeks.

tinypolkadot · 09/07/2013 11:22

So sorry Elednor I can't imagine how that must feel Flowers

bugsyburge · 09/07/2013 11:25

Oh elednor I'm so sorry. What awful news.

ChocoFrog · 09/07/2013 11:31

I'm sleeping for Britain! Last night my DS got up twice, second time because he'd wet the bed. My DH got up, sorted him out and changed his bedding and I didn't stir through any of it!! I am not usually a heavy sleeper but just blacking out as soon as my head touches the pillow.

Got my booking in appt on the 16th and scan on the 25th. For those who have to fill in your own notes, how much did you have a go at filling in? Some of the questions I don't even know what they are asking!

ChocoFrog · 09/07/2013 11:33

Oh Elednor so sorry. Thinking of you and sending big hugs.

heidihole · 09/07/2013 11:37

elednor I'm so so sorry to read your news. And I'm also so sorry that I didn't read all the way to the bottom of the three before posting. I hope you are doing as well as can be expected :(

Elednor · 09/07/2013 11:40

I just have to hope the other twin is okay. I wouldn't know how to tell my DD and SD otherwise, thankfully they don't know it was twins.

I'm trying to hold it together for my little one but it's tough.

Didactylos · 09/07/2013 11:45

Well, Im out sadly, off this bus but will hopefully catch another one sometime soon:too glum to post about it on the thread at the time.
good luck to all the Feb mums and babies!

misskatamari · 09/07/2013 11:47

Oh Elednor I am so sorry. That is such sad news. I hope you can get some rest and look after yourself over the next few days. Keeping you in my thoughts and I hope that you have some better news later in the week x

LovesToBake · 09/07/2013 11:55

So sorry to hear your news Elednor and really hope that the other baby continues to progress and you have plenty of support around you.

My nausea continues and this morning I heaved violently into the kitchen sink while DS was nearby - poor little chap was really upset, just kept saying 'Mama, Mama' in a really worried/upset voice. Thankfully the urge to be sick is restricted to mornings and I'm just about managing work ok - I wouldn't be surprised if people are starting to guess though as I'm definitely not my usual perky self. Once I get home, pick up DS from nursery, do his bath and bed I completely crash and am mostly in bed by 8:30pm. Sleep is definitely much-needed at the moment.

Sassy20 · 09/07/2013 12:10

Sorry to hear your news Elednor. You just have to focus on your baby now and look after yourself.

Sorry to hear your news didactylos

tinypolkadot · 09/07/2013 12:36

Sorry about your news Didactylos look after yourself - I hope everything works out for you

I've had my 12 week scan through at last - 23rd July, two weeks today! I've also had to chase about a booking in appointment as I still haven't had one.

My sickness seems to be easing a bit (do I speak too soon?)

10 weeks today, nearly at the other side...

Oh so sorry to hear your news elednor and didactyls.

I've just agreed with my boss that I can work reduced hours for the next few weeks. I need to just get a fit note from my gp. I'm so relieved, I was feeling really bad not doing my hours.

ldt87 · 09/07/2013 13:20

Sorry to everyone who's had bad news, I know what a horrible time it is and please take care of yourself.

I am 10 weeks today and booked in last Thursday. My scan is on the 22nd so not long really. I'm concerned about weight gain this time. With previous pregnancies I didn't really gain until late in the 2nd tri and then less than a stone in total each time. This time I have gained 6 pounds already at 10 weeks and look pregnant already through bloating. My bmi is still in good range but I'm worried it will continue at this rate!

Sickness means I've been loading up on carbs and snacking lots, I just want bread and pasta and potatoes lol.

ldt87 · 09/07/2013 13:22

Tinypolkadot, I just realised we are due at the same time xx

Fab news ldt87 we can compare notes Wink I completely feel your pain about the bloating, I feel huge, and uncomfortable. I've been too scared to weigh myself the past couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to being able to eat normally again so I can start to be a bit more healthy!

My diet at the moment usually consists of plain hula hoops, mini cheddars, chips, potatos and toast. I have just eaten a peach though, and it tasted amazing!

Glad people's bosses are being lenient, I still haven't told mine. I was going to yesterday, after the scare on Friday and having the scan yesterday morning. But when I got back to work all I was greeted with was a "well?" without her even looking up from the screen.

She knew I'd been to A&E and hospital (although not why). She must have guessed and I think is a bit annoyed Sad

misskatamari · 09/07/2013 14:08

That's rubbish that your boss is so unsupportive tiny! As if you're that rude we you know someone has had to go to A&E! I hope she's a bit nicer when you do tell her.

I think we get test results at 16week midwife appointment champagne. I think mine said that I have my 12 week scan and then ring and book an app with midwife at 16 weeks and that's when they give us them. Can't bloody remember what they tested for either!
