I'm struggling with it too Jazz, I feel like a wet dish rag.

I felt alright(ish) yesterday, which was good because we were out for the day at a food festival. Then this morning I can't stop being sick, I'm sat on the sofa with a massive bowl wondering how on earth I'm going to pick DS up from nursery at 12 then go to work without being sick in the street. I'm not normally this bad, sick some days but only ever the one time that day and then that's it, I just feel sick after that but today it's sick after sick. I was even worried it could be food poisoning (I panic too much) and rang my mam then rang DH at work to see if they feel alright as we all ate the same things yesterday. They're fine so most definitely ms. I'm wondering if the heat has made it worse.

gnittinggnome · 08/07/2013 09:48

champagne and sugarmice I can't imagine how grim it must be to be constantly feeling sick... I hope it will clear soon and you can start enjoying being pregnant! (and food!)

elednor what a frustrating wait! I agree, the lack of control is a huge bugbear. Fingers crossed for a positive scan on Friday.

My weekend was super lazy - we had lots of plans but fortunately DH wanted to relax as well. I got my first unwanted pat on the stomach yesterday, from the one person I don't want anywhere near me - my repulsive FIL. I can't stand the man, at all, in any way. He's not a bad person, or nasty, or anything like that, he just makes my skin crawl, and as soon as we say hello (travelled out of town for MIL's retirement party on Sunday) he reaches over and gives my stomach a little proprietary grope. I nearly smacked him right there. Fortunately my DH is well aware of my feelings and took him to one side to explain how I don't want anyone feeling up the bump (which is barely even a bump, more my stomach making gains on the reduced workouts) so I am hopeful that he will take that on board. Else he is going to find himself with a vengeful, pregnant, woman explaining why it's not on. Grrrr.

Somanychanges · 08/07/2013 10:20

Elednor hope you are ok, and that the scan shows all to be ok.

I have given up and gone to the Doctor for anti sickness tablets this morning. I have practically eaten nothing for a week. Whatever I do eat comes back up. Now I have also started throwing up water.

I am Hoping the tablets work soon or I'm not sure how I will make the 1hrs walk there and back in this sun to get my children from school.

But I was sick about 5 mins after taking the first tablet so not even sure it stayed down Sad

I am starting to wonder if I can do this, I am struging to look after my two very hyperactive children when feeling this sick. And I keep thinking maybe we should have just been happy with two.

Somanychanges you poor thing. It must be so hard, I hope you (and everyone else struggling with sickness) feel much better soon.

The heat is making me feel very tired and sweaty, and grumpy!!

11 weeks today Smile

EeyoreIsh · 08/07/2013 11:03

elednor sorry to hear things aren't going so well, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I had a lovely weekend in the sun, I think I'm finally reaching a point where I'm starting to feel better. I had almost no nausea yesterday, just the upset stomach. I felt awful on Saturday though, I had a three hour train journey. I wonder if this is how ms progresses, with good and less good days as the pregnancy progresses?

Has anyone else lost weight? I've lost 2kg so far, which keeps me in the healthy bmi range still, but it's fallen off quite quickly over the last two weeks. I think it's because I haven't been able to eat supper for over a week. I've still got a little belly though! It's not a bump as it's too high and too early.

EeyoreIsh · 08/07/2013 11:04

Oh, and I'm 9+6 now.

pettyprudence · 08/07/2013 11:10

felt great yesterday but after s crap nights sleep I zm really struggling with tiredness and nausea today. I blame it on the sun. I reckon I would thrive in iceland Grin
despite working pt & having ds I sm coping with the tiredness much better so far as I am napping whenever I can.
ive just got to sit in a boiling hot room for 2 hours then back to the paddling pool!

Hello all Smile

Can I pop a tentative (and very sicky) head around the door?

tinypolkadot · 08/07/2013 11:58

Hi everyone, we had our scan after Friday's bleeding and everything is ok Smile little heartbeat was beating away and baby was jumping up and down to say hello! Such a relief!

The lady doing my scan said bleeding was common and it's not known why it happens. She said it's thought to be the baby dropping down the wall and repositioning further down, and that blood vessels get destroyed when this happens.

It makes all the sickness worthwhile Grin

Hope u have good news today too elednor

Welcome yellowrose and congratulations!

littlestgirlguide · 08/07/2013 12:02

Hello yellowrose!

I'm back at work today in a hideously hot stuffy office after 2 weeks off. Boo hiss boo. Not feeling bad (just hot and faint!) but had almost forgotten my boss let slip about my pregnancy to the whole office... People keep commenting on my 'bump', I don't think I've got one and it's not flattering!!

Ruggle · 08/07/2013 13:06

So, I'm feeling lucky that my morning sickness is actually reserving itself for mornings, rather than all day long, which it did for a while. Still feeling nauseous a lot during the day, but actually being sick now seems to only happen after the first thing I eat/drink in the morning...whatever it happens to be. This morning, banana. Gross!
Anyway, I'm hoping things stay this way over the coming week as I'm performing in an opera on 3 nights, and the Sunday afternoon. I was tempted to pull out when the nausea was really bad the other week, but I seem to be OK (touch wood) at the mo. I hope the heat in the venue isn't going to be a problem though....Rehearsals over the weekend were a bit of a heat nightmare...but looks like things are cooling down a bit.

I haven't yet told anyone that I am expecting, apart from my partner (of course) and the opera's costume lady (so that I could explain why I needed a lighter costume than everyone else)....but I'm itching to share the news. My midwife appoint isn't until the 19th and my scan is booked for 1st Aug.

I'm 8+4 today (I think, though still not quite sure I'm reporting that correctly.....It's the 4th day of my 9th week.....)

EeyoreIsh · 08/07/2013 14:33

welcome yellowrose Grin

ruggle I think that makes you 9+4!

Thingymajigs · 08/07/2013 14:33

Aww so glad everything turned out ok tiny. Smile
I have a bump. I don't know how as I'm only 9+3 but its definitley there. My boss annoyingly commented on my tummy and kept staring. I feel like I shouldn't have one yet but maybe as I'm petite and this is my third its normal to show already. Either way there is no way to say "oh you are getting a tummy" to a 9 week pregnant lady without causing offense.

Ruggle · 08/07/2013 14:44

Ah...I'm so confused. I have completed 8 weeks, so thought it was 8 plus four days of my 9th week. Is the first number not completed weeks? I'm new to all of this, so no clue!

Ruggle · 08/07/2013 14:54

P.S. got blood test results. Everything normal (yay for vegetarianism!) except Vit D. Had the test before the sun arrived though, and nurse did say she'd never seen a single woman whose vit D test came back "normal".

Somanychanges · 08/07/2013 14:56

Yes ruffles if you are on you were 8 weeks 4 days ago then you are 8+4

I think that's it

misskatamari · 08/07/2013 14:56

Hey Ruggle - I got the babybump app on my phone and that tells you how far along you are based on last period so i just go by that. I hope your performances go well and that you feel okay for them!

Weclome yellowrose! Come and join the sicky party!

Littlest I hope your day back at work goes okay! I don't have a bump yet but i do look fat (i think i may just be a bit fat lol).

Not feeling great today - had acupuncture which didnt seem to help much today but might feel better later. I was soooo tired i zonked out when i got home and have been asleep for about 3 hours (which im sure i will be so thankful for when i try and sleep tonight!). Gotta tidy up the house a bit now as the midwife is coming round at 4.15 eeeeek Smile

Somanychanges · 08/07/2013 14:57

Sorry meant Ruggle (iphone)

Elednor · 08/07/2013 15:05

tinypolkadot Really glad your scan went well Smile

I had to chase up the appointment as the hospital didn't ring me, luckily I managed to get through to my own midwife who sorted it out. My scan is 9am tomorrow, so not too much longer to wait.

Hope everyone is feeling okay in this heat!

sunflowered · 08/07/2013 15:26

Good to hear that they can see you so soon elednor. I can't imagine what it would be like having to wait nearly a week. I hope everything goes ok tomorrow.

Thanks for the advice over the weekend vix and thingy (I think - really sorry if I've missed anyone). Have booking appointment next Monday so will mention it then if bf comes up.

Feeling really yucky this afternoon. Still haven't actually been sick but my office only has one toilet and it's nowhere near my desk so I'm getting really paranoid about need to throw up in a bin. It's a big open plan office and everyone would know about it Sad

Ruggle · 08/07/2013 15:36

I have found a website called pregnology.com which tells me I am 8+3...as it counts from the first day of the last period, which is 1+0 (days going 0 to 6 rather than 1 to 7), and so day four of my 9th week is 8+3....

So now I know!

Ruggle · 08/07/2013 15:37

Ooops...no....first day of last period would be 0+0.....not 1+0!

jazzcat28 · 08/07/2013 15:51

Ruggle I think that's right. My pregnancy app says I'm in week 8 of my pregnancy but I'm actually only 7+2 on its little timeline thingy.

I've only had my booking appointment confirmed so far (24th July) should I be expecting a letter about my scan too or will the midwife sort that after my appointment?

I really hope I have my scan in first week of August as I'm so keen to tell people!

SugarMiceInTheRain · 08/07/2013 16:13

I am champing at the bit, eager for my scan appointment tomorrow morning. Have bought some of those seabands today and whilst the nausea is still there I haven't actually been sick since I put them on at lunchtime (have gagged a few times though!) Even if they don't really stop the morning sickness I will need them for going on holiday next week - a whole day in a car/ ferry! The very thought of it is making me gag. What makes it worse is that as FIL is coming on holiday with us, I will be stuck in the back between DS1&2! I think I shall spend the time with an ice cream tub in my lap just in case... (and we will have to tell FIL our news I guess)

EeyoreIsh · 08/07/2013 16:23

Oh ruggle sorry for getting it wrong. shows how useful my maths degree is! Grin

I'm envious of all those with scans.

I think I'm going to have to go to the doctors soon. Not because I need anything for the sickness as it's not the bad, but because I've not been able to get into work more than once a week with my nausea and upset stomach, and I have to leave early. And I'm so exhausted. I feel bad going to the doctors just for a sick note, but I think I need to cut down hours until I'm better. I might talk it over with my boss tmw and see what he says.
