I work in a GP surgery, You want to see the things people use for wee samples!! Its even better for samples of the other variety. Just think along the lines of a toilet roll cardboard bit and kitchen roll!!!!!
Your surgery should give you a sample pot too if you ask.

I'm useless at keeping quiet so pretty much everyone knows about me! I had to tell work and I don't see why they (some of who I hardly know or like) get to know and my close family and friends don't.

Champagne glad you're feeling better! I can't imagine what its like to be really sick!

tinypolkadot · 04/07/2013 18:09

Someone please tell me that I'll actually want to eat food with flavour again?

Bread and butter for dinner, yum.

Actually I've just been to Asda and saw a toddler in a push chair with her eyebrow pierced! Shock

littlestgirlguide · 04/07/2013 18:21

Tinypolkadot. Tell me that's a joke? Surely that would class as abuse?!! Shock

I think I've discovered how to handle my symptoms - don't get tired and eat small things, preferably cold, every half hour. Working well so far... I wonder how it will be when I get back to work on Monday, doing my public-facing, no-food-or-drink-at your-desk 8.30-5 with no break. Two more weeks and my new diary starts - with the luxury of a proper lunch break!

I've been thinking about the dates they gave me at my scan- do you think when they said 5 weeks they meant from conception? (7 weeks since last period)? Or 5 weeks since conception? If it was 5 weeks since conception that would be right.

I'm not sure littlest, I'd love to know the answer though.

Went shopping this morning and managed to throw up. When I wasn't throwing up I was leaning against walls, mannequins, DDs pushchair. I forced myself to eat some popcorn while walking around and managed a tiny bit of lunch - my first meal since yesterday lunchtime. Sat at work all afternoon feeling shaky and sick, my manager majorly pissed me off by trying to pressure me into doing a job I'm no longer permitted to do while I'm pregnant. Managed to eat some fruit pastilles and drank some Fanta. I felt hungry while waiting for the bus so bought a cheese pasty from Greggs and scoffed the whole thing! It was delicious, like mana from heaven :)

Am now back to not eating though as the very thought of tea is churning my stomach again.

tinypolkadot · 04/07/2013 18:29

No joke, it could have been a fake one? I was trying to hang about and get a proper look, but people were talking to them.

I've been eating every half hour too, but it makes me feel so bloated and uncomfortable.

9+2 and still no letter Sad

If it was mixed in with cm it could be irritation bleeding from the cervix or even an infection. Try not to worry, spotting doesn't always equal badness, call the MW tomorrow and see what she thinks x

champagne I've had the teeny bits of blood every now and again too. I put it down to sightly more sensitive insides, a bit of cervical erosion.

I managed to make it into with today, woohoo! I survived the 4 hours of commuting without puking Smile I'm now tucked up in bed though, and can't face dinner. But hey, I put on a good show for my team, and actually got some work done.

EeyoreIsh · 04/07/2013 19:03

oooh, and I'm now 9+2

Bearfrills · 04/07/2013 19:05

I had a cervical erosion once, which isn't at all what it sounds like, the cervix isn't eroding. It's basically a patch of irritated cells on the surface of the cervix and they can bleed completely at random. Sometimes pregnancy hormones can trigger an erosion. It's not dangerous and in most cases goes away on its own (mine did) but the tiniest things can set off the bleeding. The strands you described sound a lot like an erosion to me.

Good luck for your booking in tomorrow, exciting! Got mine next Wednesday when I'll be 7+3

sorry to hear so many others are now enjoying the dreaded nausea! I totally get where you're coming from sugarmice the relentlessness of it is really hard to cope with!

I haven't been too bad today but feel really rough now. Fighting the urge to be sick as I really don't wanna puke up my tea. Is anyone else struggling to sleep at night? I usually manage to fall asleep okay but then wake up about 4am feeling gross and sick and can't get back to sleep even though i'm really tired.

Champagne i'd probably try the pasta jar for the sample - might be quite tricky to manage with a bottle!

Oooh i just realised today it's my wedding anniversary in 3 weeks and it coincides with 12 weeks (I'm 8+6 today) - I reaaally hope i feel better by then as it would be amazing to be able to go out for a nice meal and actually look nice for a change. At the moment i'm just a big sicky blob on the sofa moaning to my poor husband about how gross i feel lol!

vix206 · 04/07/2013 19:37

Champagne, really silly question but there's no chance it was a strand of cotton or anything is it? Sometimes if you wear red pants or even red pyjamas strands or fluff come loose and they can look very like streaks of blood. Like I say, silly question but thought it worth an ask!

I'm 10+4 and mostly nausea free for the past week or so but have the gnawing hunger still....

TeaAddict235 · 04/07/2013 19:39

oh ladies, I've been away at my PILs, and am so sorry to read all of the sad messages, including Ladybee. My condolences go out to you all. So sorry.

On our way back from the airport yesterday, I made DH stop at two MacDonalds until we were able to be served the Big Mac. They don't serve it before 10:30am apparently. So by the third one on at the service station on the way home, we waited for 40 mins until 10:30am.

Did I mention that I was nearly basically vegetarian?? Well not anymore. I've never had a big mac, and Praise the Lord, it was heavenly. DH was shocked. I was Blush embarrassed.

My body does not want kale, fish, chickpeas, or lovely kidney beans, it wants MEAT! I can't believe it. DH is chuffed that he'll be getting more meat than that at work from the canteen. I feel soo ashamed.

over and out

Haha Teaaddict, too funny. I was absolutely the same with my last pregnancy, craved meat constantly and my DS is still a little carnivore to this day! I on the other and, went straight back to fish and veggies/pulses as soon as he arrivedSmile

rueyrichardson · 04/07/2013 19:48

Champagne, with your dates could your cm issue maybe be a bit of breakthrough bleeding? Might correspond with when you would have welcomed AF.

vix206 · 04/07/2013 19:51

Champagne I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, try not to fret. Easier said than done I know....

vix206 · 04/07/2013 19:52

As ruey rightly says, 8 weeks is perfect time for a spot of breakthrough bleeding.

lyndsey90 · 04/07/2013 20:21

My hips at the back ache like buggery today. Peeing for England too!!

vix206 · 04/07/2013 20:24

Lyndsey mine do too. For me it's linked with my IBS so I'm trying to drink more water (which makes me pee EVEN more!!!)

lyndsey90 · 04/07/2013 20:27

I'm at work at the min, constantly drinking water, bit stupid really. When I'm bored, I drink, now I just can't hold it. Hoping the work mates don't notice lol d

Tinkerbellefairy · 04/07/2013 21:28

Hello ladies.

So sorry to see sad news Sad

I have a quick question- have had lots of general twinges which have worried me anyway as a first timer but yesterday sneezed in bed in morning and had this sudden pain in where I guess my left ovary must be- literally a yelp out loud pain. It did lessen quite quickly but still had very noticeable pain there yesterday eve and has been on/ off today. Should I be worried? Just starting to panic now as felt very nauseous at 6weeks with wretching but not actually sick and the most awful diahorrea ever and those symptoms have completely gone apart from mild nausea now and then. Very grateful not to feel rubbish as I know lots of you ladies are suffering but this makes me feel a little nervous too.
