tarka i'm so sorry you're worried, just remember that it's not over yet. Try and get some sleep tonight xx

I'll join to fb group? You should be able to find me easily enough, or you can pm me the group name and i'll join?

Vatta · 29/06/2013 21:13

penny well done on making dinner, I've just started to feel well enough to cook some nights but it's still a massive challenge!

LittlePeaPod · 29/06/2013 21:22

Tarka. Have just read your news. I am so sorry to her this. I hope you are as well as can be under the circumstances. I am keeping everything crossed bleed stops. So lad to her any was ok though. My thoughts are with you and your DP. Flowers

Tarka, hope all is okay, thinking of you.

Some discussions up thread regarding stomachs... mine seems small in the morning but by after lunch is quite rounded and by evening totally ridiculous, beer belly and quite hard but definitely harder above belly button, really weird. DH keeps saying "you're definitely showing" which has been met with disgust and denial "it's just bloat!". It's impossible to "suck in".... Got to hide it just 10 more days or so then can tell work people.

I saw my sister today and we talked things through, re my pregnancy and her loss. It was good. Glad we were both brave enough to meet up, have a cry and chat. Feel much happier about it now. Told her that she must lead conversations about their loss, I am happy to listen and that I don't expect her to want to chat about my pregnancy or see me sometimes, but that that is okay too.

Hope people feel better soon. x

LittlePeaPod · 29/06/2013 21:24

Percy glad to hear the update regarding your sister.

Tarka, I'm sorry to hear you're having a worrying time. Fx the bleeding stops and it's all fine.

Humpty, I almost went to Westfield today, but then I remembered it's hell on earth on a Saturday!

Percy, I'm so glad things are easier with your sister now. Well done to you both!

chocoloulou33 · 29/06/2013 22:42

Hope all is ok tarka let us know when u can Xx

MrsRApilot · 29/06/2013 22:54

Hi ladies. I've been lurking for a few days and thought it was about time I came on and introduced myself. I'm 12 weeks pregnant following an ectopic pregnancy and tubal repair, plus failed fertility treatment, so a wee miracle baby here after we had given up trying. DH already has 2 boys and we have a 4 year old daughter.

Baby brain has made me forget most of what I have read, but thoughts go to tarka - hopefully it will all settle down soon. I had an extremely bad bleed with my little girl at 21 weeks and all turned out ok. They never did find out what caused it though.

I've really enjoyed reading everyone elses experiences, especially as we are all at the same stage. It's interesting and reassuring to see how much the first trimester varies for individuals. I had the most horrendous all day/all night nausea and vomiting from week 6 until week 8 when it subsided slightly. Between 8 and 10 I felt somewhat human again but was still nauseous. For the past couple of weeks I've been vomiting a couple of times a day but the general nausea just comes and goes throughout the day which I can deal with much better.

Anyway sorry for the novel there - got slightly carried away Grin

extracrunchy · 30/06/2013 00:04

Hi MrsRA! Congrats - and how lovely after everything you've been through Smile

extracrunchy · 30/06/2013 00:06

Bunt - there's a whole other spectrum of worrying that starts after baby arrives Grin

TobyLerone · 30/06/2013 06:51

Welcome, MrsRA. Congratulations!

LittlePeaPod · 30/06/2013 07:13

MrsRA congratulations and welcome. Flowers

Tarka how are you this morning? I really hope everything is ok. Thinking of you and send all the best Flowers

Well ladies another day of me waddling around like a penguin or Mr Egg with skinny legs. I must get back to the gym. 2/3 time mum to bes' how did you cope psychology with the weight gain on your tummy first time? Sad

OP posts:
TobyLerone · 30/06/2013 07:43

Pod, I was 21 and had had 2 previous mcs when I got pregnant with DS. I'd had an eating disorder for my entire teens and was only just properly recovering.
I still don't remember feeling anything other than excitement at the weight gain and my bump. It meant that everything was ok, so I completely embraced it.

Sultanajo · 30/06/2013 07:47

Welcome mrsra! Grin

percy thats real progress! Really great! You must feel relieved!

Tarka thinking of u today. Hope the bleeding is still easing off....

Not at all, pod. Everyone reacts to things differently. It was a long time ago -- DS will be 14 in a few months! So perhaps I've just forgotten any anxiety I had about my body changing. I just remember the overwhelming relief that I was staying pregnant.

MrsVDB · 30/06/2013 08:17

pod I'd love to have skinny legs and a bloated tummy at this stage because that means you'll be one of those 'all bump' pregnant ladies where it's obvious you're pregnant. I'm overweight and have fat legs and tummy already and I'm worried I won't look 'pregnant' to other people until at least 6 months. And I've read people with a gut already can get a flabby bump rather than one of those nice hard round ones. Embrace it

LittlePeaPod · 30/06/2013 08:50

Thanks ladies I just feel self conscious because of the bikinis. This must be the inbetween stage everyone alms about.. I promise not to moan anymore.. although I may still refer to my waddle

OP posts:
Frogcatcher · 30/06/2013 09:12

Hugs tarka. Of all the days for that to happen as well. As you say though it would have been worse 5 min later walking down the aisle & almost worthy of a soap opera script! FX all ok. It was me that said about bleeds happening when periods due but I can't remember where I read that now.

pod I know I am also going to feel self conscious in my bikini when we go on hols as its 3 weeks away now. I also think I've put a bit of weight on my thighs from not exercising as much. A friend of ours & her DDs are coming with us & she is tiny with great boobs despite having DC so that is not going to help. I look giant (I'm almost 5'8) next to her at the best of times.

Welcome mrs RA!

bunt I also looked at maternity clothes in H&M in whiteley but just can't take the plunge just yet for some reason.

And I'm also obsessed with magpies whoever said that - if I see 1 I have to look for another for joy & if I see 3 or 4 well baby gender speculation knows no limit!

MrsVDB · 30/06/2013 09:13

pod you can moan as much as you like! It's weird seeing our body go through these changes but if I was you I'd make the most of it while there's no one you know there. Stick it out and waddle like your about to pop! I tried it the other day and it made me feel properly pregnant ha ha

extracrunchy · 30/06/2013 09:21

How are you doing today, Tarka?

enormouse · 30/06/2013 10:07

Thinking of you tarka.
Hi MrsRA
pod re the weight gain. Im quite small (5ft 2 and size 6/8) and even though I only gained a large bump I felt awkward and like my centre of gravity was off, especially towards the end when I went 2 weeks over. It was a real shock because the things I would usually wear didn't feel right. I started wearing a lot of maxi dresses, which I usually wouldn't touch with a long pole being so short because my usual dresses looked odd.

LittlePeaPod · 30/06/2013 10:26

Thank you ladies. Just did 50 lengths (not a lot but feel sick), got out the pool, went to the loo and threw up but feel better for having a swim.

What's everyone up to today?

Littlepea don't overdo it!

LittlePeaPod · 30/06/2013 10:29

Thanks Extra. I took it really steady.. Nothing fast and kept to breast stroke...
