Aw extra bless your DS with his Fab wonderment!!! That is super cute! I like the strawberry part but the rest is gross! Grin

The kitchen was surprisingly clean with everything in the dishwasher! Did find traces of flour though on a lot of door handles and the fridge door! Grin He is a really good cook - I am very lucky, but he does tend to use every utensil possible and usually a big mess! Grin

Frogcatcher · 29/06/2013 18:39

Ooh bunt I'm Southampton area too. Pm me your name & I'll join the group. I have a v common surname so am impossible to find.
Currently trying to find energy to get ready to go to a birthday party. DP is already there setting up so not got him chivvying me along. Think I said I'd be there 7.30 & not even showered yet. Oops.

Played golf today & my ladies group were v excited about the baby. They've never had a pg one before probably because most of them are older than my mum Grin

TarkaTheOtter · 29/06/2013 18:49

Hope some of you are around to chat. 12 weeks today and stuck in hospital with a threatened miscarriage.

Had a massive bleed, red and running down my legs (sorry tmi). Went to a&e, was scanned and the baby was fine and they couldn't see a reason for it. Still bleeding but lighter now. They've said it's 50/50 but no idea how they can know if they don't know what's causing it Sad

extracrunchy · 29/06/2013 18:52

Oh gosh Tarka how scary for you Sad good that baby looks ok at this point though. Are they giving you anything to stop the bleeding? Thinking of you Thanks

Sultanajo · 29/06/2013 18:54

Oh Tarka how scary and stressful for you! Really hope its a positive outcome for you. How long are they keeping you in? X

Mac2014 · 29/06/2013 19:00

Thanks humpty, mrsGSR and all you other lovely ladies... Luckily I wasn't too close to her at the time, as felt like I could've given her a proper Chinese burn! [grins]

Mac2014 · 29/06/2013 19:01

tarka hope all is ok. Sounds incredibly stressful. Massive hugs xxxx

Vatta · 29/06/2013 19:02

Oh dear Tarka - fingers crossed for you - it's good they've done a scan and the baby looks ok. There are so many different reasons for bleeds in pregnancy, and most of them are harmless.

Toothfairy78 · 29/06/2013 19:09

Gosh, hope it they figure it out n fix up for you soon tarka.

Fingers crossed!

TarkaTheOtter · 29/06/2013 19:09

Thanks everyone. I'm staying positive as I'm bleeding so much less and no clots but can't believe everything could be ok when I lost so much blood.

MrsGSR · 29/06/2013 19:10

Hugs tarka, fx everything is ok. I'm really sorry your having this stress.
Someone mentioned up thread that is it quite normal to have a bleed when your period would be due, if you are 12 weeks today and have a 28 day cycle this could be the reason? fx and thinking of you!

TarkaTheOtter · 29/06/2013 19:11

extra I'm just on IV fluids and bed rest. They're just monitoring me tonight.

Vatta · 29/06/2013 19:12

No clots is a good sign. Do you have a DP or any friends in the area who can come sit with you or is it out of visiting hours now?

TarkaTheOtter · 29/06/2013 19:23

No it's visiting hours but family are busy as its my mum's wedding! I was in the registry office getting ready to walk her down the aisle when the bleed happened

extracrunchy · 29/06/2013 19:27

Oh god what a crappy crappy day!! Horrible for you.

As others have said, no clots is a good sign, as is normal scan and no obvious cause for bleed. And bleeds (sometimes even heavy ones) are very common. Glad they're monitoring you.

Is DH going to bring you something decent to eat and some nice PJs at least?

Hugs x

MrsGSR · 29/06/2013 19:29

My SIL had a bad bleed at 17 weeks and now at 23ish weeks everything is still fine, so even heavy bleeds can be nothing.

I've just gone out to get my tea and realised I put it in the bottom oven and turned on the top oven.

MrsVDB · 29/06/2013 19:47

tarka hope you are ok. If they scanned after the bleed and its not as bad that must be a really good sign

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 29/06/2013 19:54

Oh tarka you poor love. Thinking of you - really hope the normal scan is the answer and the end of it. Take care.

Shopping (and holiday ready pedicure) helped - although there are TOO MANY fecking teenagers in Westfield (Stratford) of a Saturday. They all walk horrifically slowly, and slouch and drag their feet. I had preg rage at them all (silently, judgily). Twas most satisfying Grin.

Vatta · 29/06/2013 20:05

Wow Tarka of all the days for it to happen. Try to stay calm and rest, big bleeds do happen without it really being a problem.

Omg Humpty you're a braver woman than me heading to Westfield Stratford on a Saturday, there are a lot of good shops but I can't tolerate all the teenagers. Had yesterday off so went to Oxford St thinking it wouldn't be too bad on a weekday but really regretted it - shopped for 2 hours then napped for 4 to recover!

BuntCadger · 29/06/2013 20:18

Tarkha - as everyone else has said, it's good scan was ok and baby doing good. Must be terrifying and even a relatively small amount if blood can look like a huge amount. Keeping fingers crossed that all is ok and that bleeding stops. It's positive that its easing and you're in absolutely the best place xxxxxxx hugs xxxxxxx

Frog - :)) exciting you live around here too. We braved town briefly today and I got done maternity trousers from h&m, west quay was heaving. Nice day tho as we took pier train, Ferry and then bus in so the kids were excited. Obligatory ice creams all round too Smile

Frizz1986 · 29/06/2013 20:49

tarka its def a good sign that the scan showed everything is normal. They are prob just covering themselves by saying its 50/50.
Ive read lots of posts elsewhere with people who have bled up until midway through and everything was fine.
The girls are right, no clots and a good scan is a positive start and you are in the right place. Sorry you're going through it though and it started at the most inconvenient time. Got all my fingers crossed that you are out soon with bean in tow.

MrsGSR · 29/06/2013 20:50

Tarka Expanding on what bunt said about small amounts of blood looking like a lot, according to the nhs website average blood loss during a period is 2 tablespoons, but it seems like a lot more! I hope you can take some comfort from what everyone has said.

Penny31 · 29/06/2013 20:50

tarka hope you are doing ok, sending hugs your way.

Well I'm not in bed yet and I managed to make the dinner! That is major progress :)

Frizz1986 · 29/06/2013 20:51

bunt thanks for the pm. I will attempt to find you some point after my scan on Monday. Don't want to tempt fate even though i know nothing i do now will change what happens in the scan.

BuntCadger · 29/06/2013 21:10

Totally understand frizz. I have another scan on Thursday and I've stuffed more maternity clothes in wardrobe still in bag with tags on etc just In case. I won't properly relax till January and baby in my arms! Oh and everytime I see magpie I make sure I say hello while searching for its friend! Smile Tell me I'm not insane!
