Here we go again....

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsGSR · 28/06/2013 16:25

Ugh. last not lay, I'd not is, and thread 1 or 2. I'm going to have another nap.

enormouse · 28/06/2013 17:55

toby you are being really brave through all this and I hope you get something sorted soon.
I have my booking appointment on Monday and DP and I have to take 20mo DS with us. Has anyone done any appointments with a toddler in tow? From what I remember from my last pg loads of people had kids with them, (I think there might be a Wendy house in the waiting area?). tow I'm panicking that something might happen between now and monday. Obsessive knicker checking etc.

BookTart · 28/06/2013 18:46

humpty, the midwife had a bit of a dig at me because I was "the sort" to do lots of research :)

toby I'm fucking furious on your behalf. I'm at WHH on Monday morning, shall I chin her for you? If they continue to be unreasonable gits, then I know that the scan place in West Malling does nuchal translucency scans privately. You shouldn't have to pay though!

I'm less mad than I was, but will feel better after the scan and blood test results have come through. Midwife knows I am mad, and so is coming over tomorrow to have a listen for a heartbeat so that the scan is less stressful for me. I've booked NCT classes and also the early days ones as well, mostly so I have the chance to make some friends because I don't know anyone around here at all. I told my boss and he was lovely, and will be keeping as quiet as he can until my NT results are back, which is great.

My 'bump' is massive (hello constipation!), and prompted an awkward conversation on the bus this afternoon between two teenage boys who discussed loudly how they sort of felt like they should stand up for me, but actually they didn't really want to. Gits.

TobyLerone · 28/06/2013 19:13

Oooh, does it, Book? That's good to know. DH is all for going private if we can't sort it.
Yes please, chin her. Her name is Jane. The lady I spoke to this morning, whose name I don't know, was absolutely lovely, though, so don't get the wrong one :o

I'm still worried about a MMC, even though I've never got to this point in a pregnancy without everything being fine. I'm sure it's fine, but I think I'd built myself up so much yesterday that the meltdown when I didn't make the scan was inevitable.

I'm feeling far less sick now, which is a good thing (although worrying me, despite it being normal, because I haven't had the scan!). And I definitely have a bump, which is ridiculous. Mind you, with 3 fibroids in there, one of which is the size of a tennis ball, I am unsurprised! It's annoying, though, because I refuse to buy any clothes until after the scan (in case it's wasted money). I was planning on shopping today!

What a lovely MW you have, Book :) And if one of those teenage boys was my DS, I'm sorry. I'm sure it wouldn't have been, but if he looked about 13 and was wearing a grammar school blazer, let me know and I'll lecture him as a preventative measure :o

enormouse, I'm sure you'll be fine to take DS with you. He'll be able to sit on your lap for most of the appointment anyway.

I love that you're all Raging on my behalf, you loons! It'll all work out one way or the other. I can't get too indignant really, seeing as it was my own fault. I get that, and I get the computer issue, and I will be sure to make those things clear in my complaint. It's only her attitude I have a problem with.

Toothfairy78 · 28/06/2013 20:04

Well toby if an attitude adjustment is all that is required I'm sure this could be easily arranged. We could gather round and just be hormonal at them!

BuntCadger · 28/06/2013 20:39

Toby - that woman sounds dreadful :( karma will have it's way of dealing with her

Pod - the fb this was a closed secret group so only people in it would be able to see it and no one else could even find the group unless they've been added.

Anyway as there isn't much interest generally ill shut up about it Grin it's just such a lovely group from dd I belong to where we see what babies are up to and some arrange meet ups I just thought would be nice xx

Naturegirl82 · 28/06/2013 20:51

Well I've sent off my enquiry to the one to one midwife service Pod so I'll see what comes of that.

Has everyone else all ready booked their antenatal classes? I thought it would be too early to book yet. Feeling very disorganised which is just not like me at all!

TobyLerone · 28/06/2013 21:04

:o a hormonal flash mob!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 28/06/2013 21:06

nature my midwife made me fill in a form at booking-in for the NHS antenatals. Glad she did, as on the form, it says 'extra classes are fully booked, but you can enquire about cancellations' Shock - this is NOVEMBER...

Not sure whether/how to book NCT, as we fully intend to move before EDD, but we don't know for certain where we'll buy... Can I just go to a class in the general area, do you think?

Naturegirl82 · 28/06/2013 21:12

Oh I'm panicking now. Maybe I should try and book on next week, especially as it would need to be an evening class because of Dh's job. Confused

TobyLerone · 28/06/2013 21:17

I think they're always evenings.

Naturegirl82 · 28/06/2013 21:20

There were only two evening classes the midwife mentioned and the rest were during the day. I'll try and get it sorted as I'm worrying about it now. I did get seen 3 weeks early so fingers crossed there are still spaces.

TobyLerone · 28/06/2013 21:28

Oh, really? I've never seen any during the day! What a stupid thing to do Hmm

Naturegirl82 · 28/06/2013 21:33

That's what I thought. There are 7 classes and only two in the evening. I've just checked my notes and it says to book after the 20 week scan. I think I'll check this at my next appointment.

chocoloulou33 · 28/06/2013 21:59

toby sorry u didn't have any joy with the scan booking 2day :(
bunt I'm up for the fb group as long as its completly private that's cool by me.
Another awful day here, worse than yesterday. Came home an hour early from work as the vomming has restarted & was coming over all faint. Continued to vom at home & now have a bad headache. Sorry for the pity party. Am 12+5 now & want to feel better!!!! X

MrsVDB · 28/06/2013 22:00

nature mine says to book after 20 week scan also. Although we are going to an early pregnancy evening next week which you don't have to book on

Frogcatcher · 28/06/2013 22:23

I think the NCT ones near me are on Saturdays plus a bf session in the week. I've not booked yet as was waiting till after my mythical 12 wk scan. My DP not going to be impressed if they clash with home football games but tough.
I was too late for the early pregnancy one as it had to be booked by 10 wks & I didn't get the leaflet till booking in appt when I was almost 11 wks - grrrr!

Flowers for choco.

Frogcatcher · 28/06/2013 22:25

Oh and if anyone thinks they're massive check out Frankie from the Saturdays on This Morning - she reckons she's only 4 months but her bump is massive! I hope I've not got that big in another month!

MrsVDB · 28/06/2013 22:43

So I just checked out nct classes and due to being due late January I'd have classes on 23rd dec and 29th and 30th. We were going to go back to my parents for the whole of Christmas but now not sure what to do. There is one slightly further away with better dates but kind of ruins the point of making local friends?

MrsVDB · 28/06/2013 22:45

frog wowzer!!

BuntCadger · 28/06/2013 22:54

Choco & crunchy ill need your fb name to add you to group x

Feeling like this stage is really dragging and we've got months to go! It's getting into the second tri and then it'll fly a bit more xx

itsonlyapapermoon · 29/06/2013 04:59

BuntCadger I'm up for the fb group too :)

LittlePeaPod · 29/06/2013 05:05

Nature good luck.. Really hope it goes well. I was really impressed and I has decided to swap all my care to the one to one MW. Lets us know how it goes. With regards NCT I have already booked ore natal and post natal as apparently they get booked up really quickly were we live.

Toby hormonal flash bomb... Ha ha ha Brilliant. Grin. Joking aside I really hope it gets sorted soon.. It's completely ridiculous.

Humpty I think you can go anywhere for NCT. I don't think you need to live in the area..

Chocco is really shit been ill.. It really does feel like ground hog day.... I hope you are feeling better Flowers

Frog I just goggled Frankie.. I feel a bit better as I am 13+2 and I can tell. Even DF said "oh little bump there" which set me off crying again. Quite depressed as at the moment I just look like I have put weight on even though i have actually lost weight due to sickness rather than pregnant like Frankie.. Depressing when your in a bikini... Started crying when I got into my bikini yesterday and DF told me off for been ridiculous...

Question to all the ladies. Is anyone or will anyone start exercising through pregnancy? I used to go 4/5 times a week prior to sickness kicking in but been so ill I haven't done couldnt do anything, which is depressing. I am going to try and go back as soon as I get a bit better. Just wondering how others are getting on?

Following on from my chicken wrap last week and throwing up on the plane yesterday. Last night I had some sperghetti and KEPT IT DOWN...... Also had nearly three bottles of 500 ml of water without the need for fresh ginger and lime/lemongrass cordial added to it yesterday afternoon. Still feel pants but these little moments always feel like a triumph I need to celebrate. Grin

One more question. Do you ladies know what the MN 'Bounty Mutiny' is all about? 2/3 time mum to bes, did you experience their sales tactics?

Mac2014 · 29/06/2013 07:04

Blimey ladies we'll be on thread 6 soon.

Way too much to catch up on. Glad to hear of good scans and hugs to those still not feeling great.

toby that woman sounds awful!! Sending big hugs to you! There has to be someone else there who can manage bookings. She's a proper cuntpuffin.

I'm 12+4 today, received my scan date letter in the 2nd class post yesterday for Wednesday next week. I know I'm probably deluded but that seems like very short notice and a bit useless, you'd think they'd fork out for 1st for something so important. Luckily I'd been phoning the hospital for the last week to find out the dates. Only took 6 calls and nearly an hour on hold to speak to someone on Thursday who could tell me.

The whole system and attitude of the booking people seems really backwards and a complete postcode lottery. When I've queried any appt times coz of work commitments they've been incredibly sneery and said things like 'your priorities need to change now... It's always the same with career women...' which makes me Angry. They're a bunch of arses. I'm the main earner at home, so will be back to work sooner than I'd like to keep paying the mortgage. Would love to be a SAHM but it's not possible at the moment.

Anyhow... Rant over. Seem to have woken up with slight rage. Hm. Better than trying not to vom, so a result!!

Hope all are well. X
