Buffy - my dd was 20m on Saturday Smile

Re cars - pre ds2 I had a corsa, changed to a Picasso which I loved but it was getting old and more costly so when dd arrived traded in for a new zafira 1.8 tdi ecoflex, low car tax and insurance and good mileage full tank averages 380m iirc. It's an mpv and set up at mo as 5 seater so massive boot but when baby arrives ill need to set up another seat. Ill be using sling mostly so not an issue. Only thing I don't like it the visibility on the A supports.

Scan In 9ish hours and cannot sleep for excitement.

Re holidays already had booked camp bestival beginning of August, 2 weeks in France (last 2 weeks of August) and centre parks for 13/1/14... Lol I'm gonna have to rebook that one!

Toothfairy78 · 27/06/2013 00:13

Ooh, good luck for the scan bunt!

MrsVDB · 27/06/2013 02:57

Just woke up because I'm having awful dreams. Dh goes away for 3 nights tomorrow on a stag so not looking forward to horrible dreams being in the house on my own... Wuss!!

TobyLerone · 27/06/2013 04:05

Good luck, bunt :)

Thanks for all the car info, all. Deffo won't be getting any sort of people-carrier. Will be looking at a Qashqai +2 and will also give the Mitsubishi MrsG (I think!) mentioned a look.

I've been awake since 3am too, MrsV, for no reason at all Angry

LittlePeaPod · 27/06/2013 04:16

Morning ladies. I too have been awae since 3am... But been in the loo throwing up and got a crazy last day at work today.... Sad

Good luck Bunt

What is with 3am? I too was awake then!?

Bluecarrot · 27/06/2013 07:57

MrsVBD - I'm also having bad nightmares most nights. :(

There's bright red blood again this am. Not too much < touches wood> though I feel uncomfortable. Not quite cramps, like mild period pain- dull back ache etc. Going to see how I feel in an hour then call my midwife for reassurance. I can't really remember what they said in hospital last night- dr and midwife seemed to contradict eachother a bit! plus was just so pleased it had appeared to have stopped! Gah!

MrsAVB · 27/06/2013 08:42

I was faaaast asleep at 3am Grin
pea hope your last day before holiday is not too bonkers and you manage to get through it.
blue hope you are doing ok, must be scary but bean is getting stronger and stronger!
penny tis rubbish re. re-vomming! I have now had 2 days vom free (but last time I said that I started vomming again). I too am waiting for the frigging bloom! Maybe it's a myth invented by preggos to keep us going/ laugh at us.
So I now have zero bras that fit. Time to hit the shops while I wait for hotmilk to arrive. Any advice on whether its worth buying ones with nursing clips etc now or will they be too small by the time I need them for that?
Have a good day everyone x

Frizz1986 · 27/06/2013 08:43

Morning all.
Good luck for any scans today. Hope they go fabulously well. It's getting exciting isn't it.
Hopefully we will start to glow soon. I know I could do with it and some energy to clean my mess of a home. My parents come to visit in a week tho and my mum has told me they will help clean which is nice of them.

blue hope all is ok and ur midwife is helpful and reassuring. Am sure if it was too much to be worried about their advice would be consistent. Just keep yourself rested and hopefully all will be better soon.

Feeling rotten today. Some sharp pains yesterday eve (think i pulled a muscle when I sneezed - hope I did anyway) and a bit of a pants night sleep. Then icky belly this morning and a really dull ache and nausea since. Had to get Dh to make my sandwiches.
Am hoping the dull ache could be the start of ligament pains as everything stretches as am 11+3 today. And the sharp pains mainly seem to come when I am walking about or on the toilet using my other muscles lol (sorry tmi)

Wish I could have a sick day today but what with me covering for the boss that is a unanimous no! So glad it's almost the weekend.

Naturegirl82 · 27/06/2013 09:05

Morning everyone, I've just had a bit of a funny turn in work. Went very light head and light dots and blurring in eyes. Feeling a little bet now but eyes still a bit blur Anyone else had anything like this?

Frizz1986 · 27/06/2013 09:28

I read that this is really common moving into the second trimester as your blood flow changes causing light headedness and dizzy spells.

chocoloulou33 · 27/06/2013 10:08

That's what happened to me b4 I fainted in first pregnancy nature so be careful xx

Naturegirl82 · 27/06/2013 10:32

It was that feeling just before you faint. luckily my boss was there so sat me down and got me some water. HR manager just sent me home as I really can't be off tomorrow. Sods law got a big presentation tomorrow! Going to sleep for a bit then work from home.

Naturegirl82 · 27/06/2013 10:51

Thanks for the info Frizz. I'm only 10+4 so would have thought I was a bit early for that but good to know it's normal! Hmm should maybe actually read the pregnancy book I have so I'm a bit more prepared!

rosalux · 27/06/2013 11:15

Hello All! Sorry I haven't posted for an age, have been lurking between bouts of mega tiredness/sickness (no vomiting thankfully). Big congratulations to all those with good scan results, it's so exciting isn't it? I had a second one last week (at 9+1) and took DH with me. We could see the beanlets arms and legs wriggling around and this made us very happy. Naturally I went back to stressing the next day! Have my booking in appt today at 10+1 and hopefully will get a scan date through soon. Last time I ended up at EPU around now with some light bleeding so they just used that as the dating scan (humph).

Re: cars, we have a 5-door polo which is just about okay with DS but even DH has now reconciled himself to us having to get a proper family car with bean2; although now he has learnt to drive (at the age of 37) and turned into something of a Jeremy Clarkson, I suspect we will end up with two. Not great given our council is about to introduce residents parking. Ho hum. All suggestions of tardis like family cars (the roads are really narrow where we are and lots of hill starts) gratefully received.

I totally echo the joy of hotmilk stuff (icky name notwithstanding). And they are often on sale from online stores that specialise in DD+ bras/pregnancy bras. I got all mine half price or less last time.

Also, anyone as desperate to avoid stretchmarks as me (didn't get any last time which I wholly attribute to daily slathering of Mama Mio tummy butter and not genes or anything) Mama Mio has a 30% code valid today til Sat I think. Just type SUMMER in the promotions box at the checkout.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 27/06/2013 11:54

Morning!
blue sorry to hear you're suffering - at least you saw happy healthy bean! Fx it stops soon.

Nature I fell down the steps onto the Central Line platform at about 3.5 weeks gone - that was my first hint something was up! Take it easy.

frizz I had a dicky tummy overnight, and have had a few 'shooty' pains the last few days, including today (mainly up the bum and fanjo: NAICE Grin) but I think that's okay and normal. I am also sneezing incessantly, so may be that. The Prevalin that toby recommended is ace, but I seem to need it about every hour. Bloody pollen.

bunt how did scan go? Fx it was all lovely!

ford focus no idea on mpg, but I learned to drive in one, would have it as my car in a blink - others I've driven since seem 'tinny' in comparison. Although that's cos we're cheap when it comes to hiring cars (this weekend: A Chevy Matiz Grin).

TobyLerone · 27/06/2013 13:08

rosa, are you sure you can't manage with the Polo? I had one when I had a toddler and a baby and it was perfectly big enough for all of us and our accoutrements.

Sorry so many are feeling crappy :( I'm not sure how I feel today!

Frogcatcher · 27/06/2013 13:10

Sorry to hear some of you still feeling rubbish. I think I might be heading towards blooming as have all my energy back & went for a 30 min swim this morning. Did wake up at 3am too but might have been because DP was working on night shift. Might also help that I'm not working at the moment of course!

toby my DP is also keen on a Nissan qashqai but I'm worried it will be too big for me.

On stretch marks I've heard that you're less likely to get them if you're older so I'm clinging to that one! I've never had them before so fx.

keskiviikko · 27/06/2013 13:21

Scan done, and I am pregnant! 12 + 5, so I'm EDD 4th January. Bob laid still for a short while then a quick wave of the arms and turned over. Much to the irritation of the sonographer! Back again tomorrow for another round of doctors, as I've already had 2 blood tests this week I'm hoping they don't want any more.

On the car front I have a Morris Minor 1000 salon. Very cute, but static seat belts in the front and none in the back. Think I'll be walking every where while DH is at work!

Toby when is your scan?

TobyLerone · 27/06/2013 13:27

Congrats, keski :)

Mine's in a couple of hours. Blood tests straight after. Oh, the joy!

fryingpantoface · 27/06/2013 13:36

Congratulations everyone on the scans! So pleased for you all

blue i'm so sorry, maybe go to the hospital again?

I've off work because I've still got a sickness bug, which isn't great. DS went off to MIL's for today, so I was hoping to die alone at home watching crap tv, but DH is also off. Turns out he says he's much sicker than me

keskiviikko · 27/06/2013 13:46

I'm begining to think I need a little tap put into my arm so they can just take blood as and when they want.

Good luck for this afternoon Toby

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 27/06/2013 13:47

Congrats keski You are pregnant now!
Toby good luck later on.

TobyLerone · 27/06/2013 13:59

I dreamt last night that the baby was a boy (which would be great) and had a nuchal measurement of 8mm (which wouldn't!)

chocoloulou33 · 27/06/2013 14:06
