pidgy sorry to hear you've had such a hard time. fx you're fully on the mend.

Just thought I'd pop on to say I'm sat at my desk in utter comfort in my under bump jeans and non-wired bra! Feel silly for having put it off for so long! Smile

TobyLerone · 24/06/2013 15:28

Is is just me finding under-bump jeans really uncomfortable? I've got mine done up as tight as poss and am having to wear a belt (I may have bought the wrong size), and the buttons on the elastic are really digging in. But none of my proper clothes will go near me, so I'm really struggling to find stuff to wear. I'm tired of looking fat!

I've done all my Monday chores and now I'm painting my nails and watching Wimbledon. I love being a SAHM :o Got to go to DS's parents' evening later, though. So it's not all fun!

Naturegirl82 · 24/06/2013 16:02

I've found mine really comfy today tobylerone but I'm not wearing a belt with them so don't know if that is making a difference.

Penny31 · 24/06/2013 16:03

I want to be watching Wimbledon! I have no chance of being a SAHM :( I'm the main earner I'm our house grrrrr

Pidgy · 24/06/2013 16:04

Aw, thanks lovely ladies. Ive got fingers snd tors crossed that this one will be healthy. It's weird, I did really want a little girl as i have a DS, but now I just want this baby to be healthy. I think it's a fighter though!

I'm sure the worst is certainly behind me. I really was thinking for about 2 weeks before i got admitted that I was soooo exhausted, bloated, just feeling weird etc. that I could never do this again, and how much worse this pregnancy was compared to my first. Think it was just building up as except for the soreness, feel a whole lot better than even then. :-)

I really should invest in some under the bump jeans or something. I do have a few over the bump trousers and leggings, but even during the winter these felt too warm with that little radiator growing and growing!
I'm trying to get away with my normal maxi dresses and skirts but my wardrobe is very limited at the moment!
Lucky I'm not actually up to leaving the house yet!

Where are people getting their maternity clothes from?

I found the next website pretty good with my DS. If you search under 'maternity' on their sale page quite a few bargains came up. Must remember to take a look.

Oh, and need to get DH to get my clothes back down from the loft. Only got him to put them up there about 3 months ago! Oops! Little did we know. Just hoping and hoping all is well.

Good few weeks to be resting at home - tennis!!

Penny31 · 24/06/2013 16:04

I find my jeans really comfy too, there aren't any buttons though, just stretchy elastic. I am struggling to find work trousers though

bugsyburge · 24/06/2013 16:21

afternoon all

well I feel dreadul today.... had a busy weekend but I thought I'd combatted that with 8 hours sleep last night. however ive felt tired & run down all day.... that combined with massive bloat & work makes for a pretty grumpy bugsy!!!

anyone else feel pants?

Apparentlychilled · 24/06/2013 16:38

I felt awful yesterday bugsy, after a really busy day on Saturday. A nap yesterday for an hour and an early night means that I feel OK-ish today.

Weirdly, I don't feel that sick today. So, of course that means I'm worrying something is wrong, even though I saw the heartbeat last week (at 8 + 5). Hmm. Must not worry

enjoyingscience · 24/06/2013 16:40

Wow pidgy, you've really been through the mill!

I'm off sick today after spending all of yesterday throwing up. (Including in the leisure centre car park. New low). Trying to rest and rehydrate!

I've bought some black under bump jeans from asos, which are comfy, but my god they fall down a lot. Over bump ones are so much better, but given I have no bump, just extra lard, I can't do that for a few months.

MrsGSR · 24/06/2013 16:51

pidgy I've bought a few maternity bits from new look, and I've got my eye on some from next, gap and ebay!

Sultanajo · 24/06/2013 17:05

Pidgy blimey! You have been properly through the mill - so glad you are now out the other side and it's great you saw your LO heartbeat! They are amazingly resilient!

Blue I hear ya - I too need to get moving soon before my ass doesn't fit in the bath any more!!! Wink I also know what you mean by attention - I have started telling people at work today and as much as it's a relief to not have to hide it anymore, I am cringing and finding myself changing the subject very quickly after mentioning it! What is WRONG with us??? Blush

Toby no, my mat jeans are actually really quite comfy - much more comfy than my regular jeans - I can sit down in them without being cut in half, which is my main issue at the moment! These are the ones I got - www.amazon.co.uk/Pink-Pixie-Boyfriend-Maternity-Stretch/dp/B00AJJNOSW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1372089476&sr=8-2&keywords=pink+pixie+maternity+jeans

Still have to wear a belt with them, but a huge improvement!!! Am well jel about your wimbledoning/nail polishing/SAHMness today! Would LOVE to do the same, but sadly without a lottery win I don't think it will happen....

Nature so pleased you are comfy! I too am in full mat attire today (well new bra and jeans) and feeling happier!

Bugsy and enjoying so sorry you are feeling so rough. Throwing up in public places is never fun *enjoying". Hmm It really sucks when it hits you! I (touch wood) am not feeling too bad today, although I can feel it getting worse as the day goes on - am training til late tonight so really hoping it doesn't really decide to rev up...

Well, told my boss today and it feels like a weight has been lifted! He didn't ask details, so didn't feel I could say "soooo, let's organise when my last day will be so I can start counting down".... but am sure that will come in time.

MrsAVB · 24/06/2013 17:09

Hey y'all!
Have had a mad weekend so haven't been around much. How were your weekends?
So am going to bore fill you in on my wonderful scan on Friday as didn't post properly. It was AMAZING how much they could see and measure! Blood flow to all the major organs, chambers of the heart, feet and hands, spine, eye sockets, pallet, infra-red showing the blood flow in different directions and in the umbilical cord. Am so thankful that everything is "normal" (although of course, any baby of mine is going to be EXTRAordinary!). Screening (combined blood and nuchal) decreased my background risk, based on age etc. from 1:600ish to 1: 19000 for downs and other trisonomies so although I was really unsure about having that done, am really happy I did. Foofoo scan showed (tmi) I have a long cervix and good blood flow which are both good things! And bean was dancing/ turning/ waving - so exciting to see! We were there for about 2.5 hours in total.
In other news, am still being sick which is a bit of a bore! Can someone please memo bean to let him/her know that I'm past 12 weeks now?
Travelled to tell family; no tears as yet damnit!
Belly is definitely pronounced now, although still in my normal clothes. Have employed the hair band over button trick today on my work trousers and don't think it'll be long before I have to start stealing stuff from friends with babies splashing out. Am finally back up to my pre- BFP weight.
Anyway, sorry for the me me me!
enormouse and others with baby brain, I am sympathising. Yesterday I put face cream on my hair Hmm
pidgy so sorry to hear you've been so poorly. Am sure bean is fine; concentrate on resting up.
humpty hen do sounds like a nightmare, poor you. And with no alcohol to numb the pain.
pea, chocco and my fellow vom club members, how are you doing?
Lots of love all... X

Apparentlychilled · 24/06/2013 17:19

pidgy- I'm sure that your little one is indeed a fighter, and that having made it this far, and through major surgery, the danger time has passed. Enjoy resting and the tennis!

Penny31 · 24/06/2013 17:38

Got my combined test results back 1:3981. Happy with that. I'm 33 and nuchal measurement was 2.2mm so I'm assuming that's why it's not even lower risk...

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 24/06/2013 17:52

pidgy blimey missus - you take it easy now! That sounds awful!

MrsAVB is that your 12 week scan then? Sounds ace! 2.5hrs? is that usual? Mine is next week, have to book time off work for it, I was assuming 20 mins Grin...

Yay for good/low risk numbers, that's ace.

I spent today teaching bunches of 15 year olds - great fun. They were lovely and v enthusiastic. A bit sore from all the standing, but otherwise, feeling pretty much okay (a bit nauseous first thing).

toby my Mamas and Papas under-bump jeans are comfy BUT they are seriously lowrise. As in bumcrack on display (or would be except for granny pants) at ALL TIMES. I do not like this. I need longer tops. They also feel a bit 'loose' at the top as if they need a bump to hold them up.

TobyLerone · 24/06/2013 18:14

Great news on the test results, Penny and MrsA :o

Frizz1986 · 24/06/2013 18:27

Wow pidgy thats a bit mental. Am sure baby will be fine. They are so resiliant! They must get knocked around like anything in there but it doesnt seem to bother them.

I couldnt wear my mat trousers to work as you can see the elastic panels so theyll have to wait until everyone knows but as scan is apin a week it shouldnt be long. Really cant wait to havea bump to fill over bump clothes. I think i just want to actually look pregnant!

mrsa is that long normal? I was assuming more an hour. Am using my car breaking down as a reason for being late as scan is at 8:30. Boss knows but need an excuse so the rest of the office isnt suspicious and my car is a well known disaster (a side panel on the door blew off in the wind overnight) so i thought it might be believable!

I am being piggy tonight and having chinese and i dont care. Dh had an interview today and didnt get the job as they went to 2 nqt teachers instead (nqts are cheaper so prob the only reason they got the jobs) Dh is pretty upbeat but i know he wouldnt tell me how he is really feeling and am worried he is really upset deep down. There is only 4 and a half weeks until the school year ends and i really want him to get something as he works so hard all year and has been messed around by every school he has worked for.
Am sure we will survive whatever but its really hitting his self confidence and he so shy normally so...... just hope the pressure of a baby as well doenst make it worse for him.

Have no idea what any one else has said......sorry. My mind is mush! Good luck for scans, hope people are feeling less sick and also good luck anyone telling work/family/friends etc.

Now to put some plates in to warm.....

flowersfortea · 24/06/2013 19:24

Hi everyone,
Just catching up on all the news.
Pidgy - hope you're feeling more on the mend now. Baby will be all tucked up safely and cosily in your womb.
I'm 11 weeks now by my dates and still no word from midwives or anything. So I was ringing around today (passed from a few departments) and eventually spoke to someone who promised to ring me back today but no luck! Even if we miss the deadline for NT screening, I just want to be in the system all booked in, bloods checked, and see baby on the scan to know it's all ok.

Started to tell a few more family members and close friends now. It's lovely telling them but I also feel a bit cagey about it in case things go wrong and I've got them all excited for nothing.

BY the way, thank you whoever said PREGNAJUICE, made me laugh out loud and made my day!

Toothfairy78 · 24/06/2013 19:34

Crikey pidgy that sounds a bit scary! I hope things improve soon!

Sounds like some awesome scans took place today too!

Today I feel like a right hog. I came home absolutely hank marvin' and had a whole carton of chicken soup, some snack-a-jacks and a mini samosa. Dinner will be later when dh gets in...

It's also my 12-week-a-versary today! First Scan tomorrow morning, which will help crystallise the mind for writing our wills in the afternoon...big day ahead!

Penny31 · 24/06/2013 19:57

Good luck for your scan tomorrow tooth

sarahleanne · 24/06/2013 20:02

dh has been offered a job today on the oil rigs (we were seriously starting to panick as he is leaving the navy in 3 months) just feel like such a weight has been lifted..phew!!

will catch up on posts later when i have dragged my ds up to bed for the fifth time tonight!!

hope everyone is doing well , could do with a glass of Wine lol

quackojuliet · 24/06/2013 20:12

Good luck for your scan tooth!
We had our dating scan today, all was fab! dated me at 11+3 which is just one day off the LMP date. Baby was bouncing around, wriggling little arms and legs, it was wonderful!
seeing the midwife for booking-in on weds, which seems very late and the sonographer was surprised we hadn't been asked about tests etc already, since she was doing the down's measurement without our having opted, or discussed it with a doc/midwife. anyway measurement was just 1mm which is good.
still not sure whether to go for the combined tests etc...i worry it would make me anxious if we were told high risk and then didn;t want the diagnostic tests. i am a worrier!
felt sick again today, after a few good days i'm hoping it;s just a one off down to spicy slightly greasy meal out last night.

MrsGSR · 24/06/2013 20:40

Good luck for your scans tooth and sarah! and anyone else with scans this week :)

and congratulations sarah on your DHs job!

MrsAVB · 24/06/2013 20:45

Evening!
Re. scan - it said in my appointment letter to expect to be there for 2 hours, also that there are sometimes delays because of emergency scans etc., although we were only about 10 mins late being seen. It's a research centre so I think maybe it took longer than average as they measure more things than at other hospitals, also I don't think everywhere does the foof scan bit at 12 weeks? Some of the research stuff, the screening, and the foof scan were optional but we said yes to everything, and glad we did as it gave us more screen time. And they processed blood tests for combined screening straight away (I think other hospitals call you in a few days with the results?) so there was a small wait for that too. But I haven't had a scan anywhere else so don't know how it compares really.
penny congrats on results!
tooth and sarah good luck for scans tomorrow!
quack congrats on lovely scan! If its any consolation, when we booked in just over a week before scan, the midwife didn't ask us anything about screenings, it was only when we came to our scan we were asked.

extracrunchy · 24/06/2013 21:03

Just catching up and can't for the life of me remember who said what... Except Pidgy - I'm sure baby is snuggled up safe.

Congrats on the good tests/scans and good luck to those having more tomorrow.

SarahL great news re your OH's job!

I just got offered a second interview for a job I applied for before we knew about number 2... Don't know what to do! I'm going a bit mad at home with DS, and he's ready for some nursery, but would be 3 full days at nursery 8-6, which seems a bit much given we're together all the time atm. Also how does maternity leave work when you start work while preggers? And should I tell them at the interview?? Argh! (This is all assuming I get it - hah!)
