I'm glad I'm not the only one who isn't frantically rushing out to buy new things then, phew! That's made me feel better :)

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 19/06/2013 19:13

sarah I'm not buying much - three bras (essential as boobs are GINORMOUS) and a pair of mat jeans. I have had the free Aptaclub polar bear toy and the free Cow & Gate fuzzy cow, but they don't count. I plan to buy something small and cute if 12 week scan is okay.
Otherwise, 2nd hand all the way. I am already compiling mental lists of who will not need newborn stuff so I can borrow! No sense spending on stuff they won't remember/wear for long/use - I'll save that for something like upgrading our first family holiday/flights etc, much more useful IMO.

sorry about double post....Envy Envy using mobile

Sultanajo · 19/06/2013 20:33

Wont be rushing out to buy at this stage - will crack on after the 20 week scan - cant wait! Lots of people have said they have things they can lend us, such as moses baskets, so feel very lucky that we wont need to buy that much. Grin What we need and what I want are two separate matters tho! Wink

Sneezed a few times just now and now noticing some intermittent sharp pains in my lower abdo by my pubic bone, but am sure its normal stretching or something. Always something to worry about! Shock Its now reassuring that I feel like shite! Wink

My dreamgenii pillow arrived today so looking forward to trying that tonight! Grin

enormouse · 19/06/2013 20:35

Let us know how you get on with the pillow please sultanajo. I want one myself but unsure whether to go for it.

omama · 19/06/2013 20:40

Thanks for asking after me this morning everyone. No bleeding overnight but had a bit more this aft, although its still brown & only when I wipe. However been bit crampy too, so been to see gp at teatime bc i can't stop worrying that something is wrong.

She's gonna check my hcg tomorrow & friday & has referred me to EPU but earliest they can see me is monday, so its a waiting game til then.x

Toothfairy78 · 19/06/2013 20:41

Evening all, am I the only one hailing from Berkshire then?

I'm in Langley near Slough...somebody has to!

SarahJ shame about what your DP said. What a dick! Has he calmed down yet and said sorry yet?

enjoyingscience · 19/06/2013 20:43

No tooth. I'm Berkshire too, in newbury. Originally Northumbrian though, hence the lack of ready babysitters.

Toothfairy78 · 19/06/2013 21:03

enjoyingscience excellent to hear! I grew up in Norfolk so same issue as you, no ready babysitters too!

In other news I just emailed by karate instructor to tell him I'm preggers and is it OK to carry on training? Sort of neglected to mention I'm 11 and a bit weeks and have been getting away with it for a while. There's hardly time to talk before class hence the email. I wonder what he'll say? I feel like I did something naughty!

MrsAVB I'm afraid I cheated with DD because I was in Egypt where there isn't nearly as much baby stuff and no maternity clothes/nursing bras. I also wear a headscarf and loose clothes so it was only the last month I was down to my last two blouses really. People also sent lots of clothes from the UK and good quality cotton is cheap there, though apt to have comically bad English on it. I once saw a toddler wearing a t shirt with "pussy magnet" written on it, with a picture of a cat and a magnet. Hmm

This time not succumbing to baby buys is mostly because we'll be in a tiny flat in paris and can't spare the cash. I do feel better though knowing that things really are perfectly fine without the extra stuff. We also travel a lot so it isn't practical to have lots of stuff anyway.

Having not bought anything nice for DD when she was small I will be splashing out on this however. Will try to find one second hand, but I love it and it's totally impractical to transport but I don't care!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 19/06/2013 21:09

sultana will be interested to know how the dream genii works too. Hope it's dreamy Grin

tooth I'm sure he'll say it's fine, unless anyone kicks you in the abdomen? Aren't you basically allowed to carry on whatever exercise, with caution, if you already do it?

enjoying I went to school in Newbury!

omama fx for you that it's old blood/cervical erosion. What do you think your dates are? Are the cramps mild, if so, I've had those - I think they were all fine. Sever cramps are the things to worry about apparently, and I remember from mc'ing before that you can't mistake the pain, it's not 'niggly' at ALL. You know, honestly. HTH.

bugsyburge · 19/06/2013 21:19

hello all, would you mind if I join you?
I thought I was a February child but Dr thinks I'm more likely a January but will confirm at my first scan....

thought I'd get the prep in early though & join you all now so I know what I'm letting myself in for Grin

its lovely hearing about you all having your scans, I have my midwife appt on July 2nd so my first scan will be a while off yet

Sultanajo · 19/06/2013 21:23

omama well its great they are referring you (although the wait is always stressful)! Sorry you are going thru this but hopefully its nothing to worry about. I had very similar symptoms for ten days from 8 weeks and things were ok. Will be thinking of you....

enormouse & humpty I will indeed update on the hopefully dreamy sleep I am about to have. I tried it briefly earlier and it felt quite comfy, so fingers crossed! Its particularly hot tonight so it will be a good night to test - if it works tonight then it should work on any night....Grin

bugsyburge · 19/06/2013 21:24

Sultanajo · 19/06/2013 21:24

MrsGSR · 19/06/2013 21:44

Welcome bugsy :) glad I'm not the only one around here!

sultanajo I'm another one considering buying a magic pillow to help me sleep, will be very interested in your opinion of yours :)

bugsyburge · 19/06/2013 21:50

mrsgsr I seem to have given you a new name

thanks for the welcome, I am absolutely knackered, in bed already!!!!!

SarahJayne321 · 19/06/2013 22:02

Hope you're all well, and not too vommy. Just the once for me this evening.

With regards to him, he's decided that I'm all the terrible things you could think of, and that he wants nothing to do with me. He's ended our relationship completely. Needless to say I'm devastated, but I've tried even after what he said and he's doing nothing but ignoring me. Says he wants to be there for the baby, to which I said that's fine but he cannot just walk in and out of my/our lives when he chooses.

Sorry for the depressiveness!

SarahJayne321 · 19/06/2013 22:03

Oh and welcome to everyone!

enormouse · 19/06/2013 22:18

sarahjayne Flowers and hugs. We're always here if you need a chat. Make sure you get plenty of rl support.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 19/06/2013 22:19
