New thread as we appear to be talking a fair bit!

Lets hope we've all given birth by the end of this one :-)

Thank you Steff! Thanks

The nerves are helping with the pooping! I've had a drink a slice of toast and trying to rest. Can't do much more!

pinkbear82 · 29/06/2013 04:36

good luck today ladies - hope the journey to meeting your little bundles is a good one.

I think my right boob has more milk than my left Hmm Violet seems to struggle on my left side and isn't as content after. it wouldn't surprise me to be a wonky milk maker - I never do things in a simple way.

AlohaMama · 29/06/2013 06:32

Wonky boobs pink bear? This bf malarky is never straight forward is it.

Had Evie permanently attached today. I can only assume this is a growth spurt as up until now its only been every 2-3 hours between feeds. Just have to hope she eases off overnight.

Does anyone have recommendations for any emails you can sign up to, long the lines of what your baby should be doing each week or month and things to remember to do. Like the pregnancy ones.

aloha Grin wonky boobs is about right! Violet had a non stop feed day around the 10 day mark. luckily she was ok during the night - fingers crossed you find the same!

pinkbear82 · 29/06/2013 06:43

sparkle we'll let you stay - we'll just pretend you were end of June. Or bake lots of cakes Wink June /July both start with a j easy to get confused!

AmIGoingMad · 29/06/2013 07:12

Sunny well done for getting out! Smile

Good luck today ladies! Smile

Sparkle it seems like madness that they're making you wait until then- though I'm sure you don't need me to say that! The scheduling all seems a bit crazy to be honest!

I'd also been wondering when I'd be kicked off here!

Just looking forward to sharing baby and feeding stories with you all now- just not til weds!!!

AmIGoingMad · 29/06/2013 07:13

Aloha- I'm not sure but think that babycentre might do one?

SunnyL · 29/06/2013 08:06

Given how many May babies there were i think we can hardly kick you off for being july?

Hopefully that's a sign sparkle.

Aloha, not emails but the wonder weeks book was always great for working out growth spurt patterns etc . Think they have a website, ebook and maybe even an app.

AmIGoingMad · 29/06/2013 13:51

Good point sunny!Grin

Hi ladies, just catching up, sending best wishes for today's inductions, stay-put vibes to AmI and get-moving vibes to everyone else.

Just sitting with a sleeping baby while DH gets DD ready for our family outing to see our friends at their home. They have 2 toddlers who were obsessed with my pregnant tummy and will no doubt be over the moon to see a proper newborn. That and it will provide much-needed entertainment for DD, she's been a bit bored the last 2 days.

Day 4 and my nipples are super sensitive, despite still BFing DD in February (at which point she self-weaned) it's astonishing how quickly your nipples "forget", that and you forget newborns are a bit rubbish at it in comparison tbh Smile I'm being good though and checking the latch each time and using lansinoh even if I don't need it.

Feeling good mentally (with DD I had a really mean case of baby blues) but one of my stitches is annoying me today, I also seem to have a massive tension headache which won't shift. Drinking lots of water too so hoping it's temporary as it's stopping me doing chores. Afterpains were awful yesterday (nobody told me they get worse with each child!) but seem OK today. MW is coming tomorrow morning so will see what she says about headaches/stitches.

I managed to get 7 hours (!!) sleep last night over 2 stretches, Millie's been feeding like mad at night so I've had her in bed with me, last night she must've tanked up on milk now it's come in Smile Might try her in her crib tonight as I find co-sleeping quite scary tbh (every time I wake up I have a moment of panic wondering where she is Confused)

Got a lovely bouquet delivered from work today, that really cheers you up when you feel tired/sore Smile Lots of cards too which DD loves, she points and says "teddy bear", "baby", "flowers" and "donkey" (one randomly has a donkey in a pram Grin).

cupcake78 · 29/06/2013 16:53

Baby girl arrived today in 3 hrs. I'm so in love she's doing great. All went very well no drip needed labour established straight after waters went.

Good little feeder at the moment already on 4th feedShock. Very cuddly

peppinagiro · 29/06/2013 16:59

Congratulations cupcake!! Glad the wait is finally over for you and it went well. Does she have a name yet?

And sorry you're suffering bumblebee. Hope you're feeling better soon x

Hawkmoth · 29/06/2013 17:01

Think I have figured out that my first two were so spectacularly rubbish feeders to start with that they didn't do any real damage. This one... Literally shouting in pain today with some v attractive pinprick bruising. It only hurts for about five seconds, but it is kind of like someone asking you to shove your hand in a fire and like it.

Had another migraine yesterday and I'm STILL deaf in one ear. Oh, and it was D-day today... (D for dump)... Tomorrow will be better!

Oh, has everyone picked up the baby girl stuff from M&S? Guessing they were massively overstocked in 0-3 but I'm not complaining as we've not got much girly girl stuff.

Dress & Knickers

Hawkmoth · 29/06/2013 17:02

Congrats cupcake, you must have been on the way there already!

curiousgeorgie · 29/06/2013 17:22

congrats cupcake! hope you are enjoying lovely snuggles

learnermummy · 29/06/2013 21:21

Congratulations cupcake!

Busy day here with my 7 year old's birthday and rollerskating party, all with 4 day old Anna in tow. Shattered now, hope she wants to sleep tonight!

AlohaMama · 30/06/2013 00:15

Congrats cupcake, great that you didn't have to have the drip.

Well done learner, not something I could face with a 4 day old!!

Glad to report yesterdays' growth spurt appears to be over. Seriously yesterday I was feeding every half an hour to an hour. It was ridiculous. thankfully she obviously had her fill because she then slept 5 hrs at night so I only had to wake up once. Boobs are now recovering Hmm

rrreow · 30/06/2013 03:27

Congrats cupcake! Glad it was over fast.

Wow learner I think on day 4 I was still in bed recovering!

We've been having some problems with nappy rash and wind. Using Metanium and Infacol which seem to be helping fingers crossed. Bit of a shock to have my lovely newborn turn into a constantly crying baby! Have also developed a cold so generally feeling a bit run down and lack of sleep hitting me extra hard. DH has been lovely and supportive once he realised I was struggling quite a bit.

Hope everyone else is doing ok and getting enough rest.
