New thread as we appear to be talking a fair bit!

Lets hope we've all given birth by the end of this one :-)

Quick update. Had sweep. Apparently I'm already 3cm and fully favourable ShockGrin. It took me 4 and a half days and nights of hell to get this far with ds so I'm very shocked but very happy. A bit sore but sure that's to be expected considering I've been fiddled with.

Induction booked for the weekend if sweep doesn't work but dr/midwife seemed very positive.

Just waiting now. Hoping when it all starts I get enough notice to get some help to take/collect ds from school.

Now what do I do with myself for the day?

peppinagiro · 26/06/2013 12:33

That's great news! Hope it works and the wait's over soon. And (re: your other thread on all the texts you're getting), I assume you'll be texting ALL those people to make sure they're fully up to speed with the state of your cervix? ;)

SunnyL · 26/06/2013 12:43

3.5hrs wait for the midwife? Flipping heck. Puts my 30min waits into perspective. These poor midwives really are stretched aren't they?

Sounds promising cupcake. Looking forward to hearing about more babies.

cupcake78 · 26/06/2013 12:47

Oh yes, I'm going to give a full on goop description, lol!

3.5 hrs wait is a long time for everyone involved.

Hawkmoth · 26/06/2013 12:48

No sweep due to rules. Miraculously low BP so booked in for induction next week. I bloody hope not.

I think the antibiotics are working a little... In that they are loosening up all the stuff on my chest so I'm very rattly. Just feel exhausted.

Hope everyone has a better day, and all these twinges start adding up :D

Babybeann · 26/06/2013 13:12

Pep- I worry the same that ill get there and she'll say im not ready for sweep I think id cry. Trying to keep positive but its hard when so uncomfortable and cant sleep. My hot water bottle is my new best friend for my back. My appointments at 11.30 so no dout will be running late by then.

Feel a right grump!!!

Hawkmoth · 26/06/2013 13:45

Ooohhhh... Hang on a moment.... That hurts! :D

CMW coming to see me in a bit. Sadly childcare is an hour and a half away with no mobile signal!!

Sunbeam18 · 26/06/2013 13:52

Delayed announcement from me! Keir Sinclair Cravens Whitehead was born at 11.12pm
last night! Got induced by pessary at midday and midwives were saying it could take up to 24 hrs to work. Was in agony by 2pm, with contractions lasting two minutes with about 30 second breaks. Horrendous! Was only at 1cm after 6 hours of that, and not coping. Labour ward agreed to take me (in a wheelchair!) an hour later and I'd dilated to 8cm! Had no time for epidural so had him on gas and air and morphine. He is gorgeous and worth every minute!

AmIGoingMad · 26/06/2013 13:54

Oo hawkmoth! Exciting!

Glad they did your sweep cupcake- sounds promising!

I'm off to bed again now for a nap as DS has just gone to his grandad and I've been to the park with him this morning so am shattered!

AmIGoingMad · 26/06/2013 13:55

Hello...um, sorry I'm late...ha-ha...can I come in please? 40+4 here, hoping for a home VBAC in my birthing pool after horrid induction with first one. Am cruising around looking for early labour signs and positive vibes/great big moans and rants! XXX

AmIGoingMad · 26/06/2013 19:57

Welcome zed! 40+1 here and fed up: scared! Good that you can have home birth vbac after induction last time. I've been told I have to go to consultant led hospital unit after last time ( not a c section - everything but!). Hopefully not too long now for those of us still waiting!

AlohaMama · 26/06/2013 20:02

Congrats Sunbeam, what a lovely name.

ladies - we'd really like to take Letty swimming - is it ok to do this before she has her jabs?

dp's birthday tomorrow and the present I ordered for him from Letty hasn't arrived Sad hopefully it'll be here tomorrow but still feel bad Tia not here for the morning.

welcome zed - hope tournament kept waiting too much longer!

Sarah hope you've had a lovely day.

Steffanoid · 26/06/2013 20:31

hey guys me and Ethan have been discharged combi-feeding
it's very weird, you ask the nurses about having to combi feed when you go home and get told that you won't need to cause your milk will come in, you say what if it doesn't but get told it will
this mornings consultant said his hydration levels in his bloods are fine, he'd not been tube fed for 18 hours, how do you feel doing combi feeding at home, we were a bit taken back by him straight asking!

and here we are, breast feeding, then ebm then as much formula as he'll take, he's been having at least 50ml of ebm + formula,
so here we are me now expressing and dp finishing tge bottle feed, so glad to be in our own home

Steffanoid · 26/06/2013 20:33

also congrats all these new arrivals
and hope our last few aren't there much longer

Ethan is a week old today, where has the time gone? so much has happened in his short life

zedzedzed · 26/06/2013 21:34

Thanks all, been reading the old threads...quite inspiring really, proof that nobody's pregnant forever...stupidly I actually doubt that it'll EVER happen for me. Am I going mad yeah, I did a lot of research this time round, and it turns out, as I'm totally healthy otherwise, I can have my baby anywhere I want and decline consultant care and only see midwives; you have to be up for standing your ground and know the law though. But if I go past 42 weeks I know I'll get the wobbles so I'm hoping things kick off soon. So far, new this week and possible signs (?): lots of nasty backache, period pains, shooting nether pains, branston pickles cramps, discharge-tastic pants, total exhaustion, feeling murderous rage, clary sage aversion and running to loo to check for invisible shows. Sigh.
