New thread as we appear to be talking a fair bit!

Lets hope we've all given birth by the end of this one :-)

Shouldn't speak too soon as clearly I will rue my words at 2am tonight but I've eaten 3 meals today at a table sans baby. In fact I even cooked a freh risotto tonight FROM SCRATCH! Baby has been truly magical today.

We went to church for the first time and she got passed round the congregation. We then had friends round for cuddles and again she was very well behaved. I even managed a decent dog walk without having to sit on a bench and feed her.

She's going to be a nightmare tonight isn't she?

learnermummy · 23/06/2013 20:08

Congratulation MrsBri, not at all jealous here! I'm sure I was next in the queue...Grin

Nothing to report here, just dreading school run comments tomorrow!

Congratulations MrsBri! Lovely name and she's really beautiful :)

I can't wait for my c section Tuesday! I'm so over being pregnant, just been taken out for a lovely dinner only to get home and throw the lot up Blush

I remember my DD getting really scaly and spotty and getting really upset about it but it goes by so quickly... They're still beautiful with it Wink

learnermummy · 23/06/2013 21:27

Hang on sparkle I'll be 40+5 tomorrow..... And sweep not til Wednesday!

pinkbear82 · 23/06/2013 21:37

I know it doesn't help you waiting ladies but I do feel for you and am willing things to get going for you!

we all survived the weekend and I think the dsd's have a better understanding that new sister isn't a toy, isn't able to do lots and gets to stay up later because she sleeps most the time and it's not really a bed time she needs. by time this afternoon came round there wasn't a fight over who got the clean nappy - they didn't even look up or want to do poppers up.

I hope we'll do a mix of this and Facebook - as fb we dint really 'chat and share' where as we do here - and altho I love seeing the photos I thinkin would miss this more.

now ladies in waiting - go get some sleep, I have a feeling tomorrow may be a busy day for some of you please note I'm not known for my psychic powers but no harm in positive thinking

oh and can someone remind me HINGES - baby brain really does keep
striking and with a wobbly toilet seat I so need to remember I need hinges!!

Fingers crossed for us both sparkle SmileSmileSmile

RueDeWakening · 23/06/2013 22:19

Congratulations MrsBri, lovely name :o My niece is an Alice and she's beautiful, I think it's mandatory with the name...

I'm sure it's just me feeling v tired but I'm convinced M has been feeding for about a week non-stop. I feel sorry for the other 2, they've pretty much only seen me this weekend while I've been sat feeding their brother. Although we did manage to hit the school "summer" (HAH!) fair yesterday. I'm hoping things settle down a bit tomorrow (please...) - we're off to get M's passport photo done by a friend of DH who has his own studio/shop place. Might see if I can talk him into doing a few extra shots too.

Fingers crossed that those of you still waiting get some movement soon.

0pumpkin · 23/06/2013 22:53

Learner and sparkle - I will be 40 + 10 tomorrow and second sweep Sad at least they will book my induction tomorrow so the end will be in sight! I am going to brave the dreaded question of do u know what u are having? I am having an elephant

AlohaMama · 24/06/2013 00:05

Sunny - glad you had a good day and I'm sure you'll have a great night too. I too managed church this morning - by myself as dh had to stay home and work. Thankfully had lots of helpful fellow churchgoers to help me corral ds into the car when it was time to leave. Turns out it's not that easy to chase after a toddler with a baby, even in a sling.

DS has been doing way better the past few days, which makes me think part of last weeks horrendous behaviour was due to him having a cold and not enough naps. Now he's on much better form. Plus his childminder is back from hols this week so I'll get at least 2 days with just ds, while he can have fun playing with his friends. All round win!

Fingers crossed for the rest of you to have some babies this week!!

And yes please for keeping this thread going. I'm crap at FB and on this thread people share helpful advice. I'd be sad if everyone deserted...

pinkapples · 24/06/2013 04:55

Well I've just come for a rant as am having a crap night!

Firstly Theiah decides routines out the window (partly to do with mil as she's in the let her do as she want camp) and then decides that her 3/4 hourly feeds that have been going well for the most part in the last 10 days needs to be changed to hourly feeds

She is not managing to get her burps up so it takes over an hour to even get her in bed let alone asleep she also has hiccups after every feed so is exhausted and she grunts continuously due to trapped wind which in turn means she is not sleeping which means I'm not sleepy cue tired mummy! And all the time my up till now supportive husband has turned into an absolute prat who sleeps through the night with not even a shuffle and at her 1 o clock feed this morning decides it'd be a good time to talk about what car to get from a bloody dealership he wants to visit! Wtf!

Rant over

pinkbear82 · 24/06/2013 05:37

pink have you tried infacol to help with the wind? I dint use it every feed but evening/night feeds I will and it does help lots and winding doesn't tAke as long then.

violet has decided feeds only need to last 20 mins tops and then gets grumpy when she'still hungry!!

Pink apples, I always found a round of sharp hard kicks got dh up to do his bit! After a few weeks my dh managed to 'not hear' ds but always heard anything to do with food/beer or cars! Infuriating

As for MIL telling you how it should be done ignore her. Do what works for you, I got the whole your doing it wrong, just try this etc etc and ended up not being able to establish feeding because of the doubt and stress. You've been doing a great job so far.

I'm still holding on to baby along with the aches and pains. It must be a big lazy boyGrin. Getting very excited to find out what make it is? What it looks like etc.

cupcake78 · 24/06/2013 07:31

Sorry read it wrong about your mil!

Although I do think she should respect your wishes on routine.

SunnyL · 24/06/2013 07:44

Oooh just woke up and feeling good. DH took the 3am and 6am feeds for me but the little piglet finished all the milk i left for her so he had to wake me up to finish her off. Good thing he did cos i've woken up soaked through from leakage my left boob. Yesterday it was the right boob that soaked through 3 tops. My boobs are going mental!

Sarah2506 · 24/06/2013 07:57

pink I feel much the same. She slept till three and then DH went to the spare room as his first day back at work. Fed the girl and then had her spew everywhere. Then she grunted, squirmed and choked through till morning. What is the point of having a relatively good sleeper if they make so much noise about it you can't sleep anyway? So my first day in charge and I feel wretched...

learnermummy · 24/06/2013 08:05

Oh dear pumpkin, fair enough you're next. An sure the next sweep will do it for you x

Babybeann · 24/06/2013 08:58

Still pregnant still fed up!!! Everything hurts and id do anything to be able to be comfortable.cant remember what sleep is. Midwife later another boring blood preasure check. Will beg for a sweep.

Congrats on baby alice beautiful name and glad to hear shes doing well.

Pep- I no how you feel im crying at everything

AmIGoingMad · 24/06/2013 09:16

Sounds like most of us are having an emotional time of it whether we're pregnant or already have babies!

Still in the pregnant camp here Hmm

Sat in drs surgery now too as I have a rash on my boobs Hmm I'm sure it's nothing but want to make sure and also that if something happens now need to know if I can still try feeding with them!

peppinagiro · 24/06/2013 09:18

Oh pumpkin I feel for you - 40 + 10 must be absolute torture. Hope the sweep gets things going.

And good luck for yours too babybeann. Really hope it works! I was so sure something was kicking off this weekend, and now....nothing. X

curiousgeorgie · 24/06/2013 09:23
