The Debenhams maternity tights are good, 2 for £10, but they do creep south a bit.

Shootingstarsandcomets · 15/06/2013 14:09

We're going over to some friends for a late lunch afternoon thing today and I have squeezed into a pair of non maternity jeans! Feeling rather pleased with myself!!

MotherOfNations · 15/06/2013 17:12

How the hell have you managed that Shooting? I can't even get my jeans over my hips.

Shirehobbit · 15/06/2013 17:16

I won't even try - it's bound to depress me!

My ten minute nap just lasted two hours. Oops Blush

Smitten1981 · 15/06/2013 18:45

Hurrah - I bought the buggy today which means no more obsessing.

We went for the Mamas & Papas Sola in the end. Also found the Maxi Cosi Pebble carseat in John Lewis for £127 instead of the £167 it was as Mamas & Papas. Feeling thrifty now!

Slippysnow · 15/06/2013 19:48

Good thrifty savings smitten I also bought the pebble, we got it with the family fix base, dp found a bargain (as always) but I can't remember the specific price. The family fix base goes with the cabriofix seat which we bought for £80, but now a friend has offered her one and its too late to take ours back... Teach us a lesson for being overly organised

Slippysnow · 15/06/2013 19:52

Also,

Has anyone bought anything for their bumps dads? I spent ages (last min) shopping for a baby gro with something to do with loving dad or another cute slogan, found nothing being sold individually and didn't want mum all over it. I was really surprised considering tomorrow was Father's Day. In the end I found a tshirt for 6-9 months saying daddy's little side kick.

Shootingstarsandcomets · 15/06/2013 19:57

Ha ha well jeans are undone now we've eaten so didnt last long!!

Sparkeleigh · 15/06/2013 20:30

Hey all, I think I've missed a few threads, I was away for a few weeks so I've a lot of catching up to do!

My bump is properly out now and I've got only 2 pairs of trousers that fit me, I need to go shopping! I've got my 20 week scan on Monday though I'll be 21 weeks, I can't wait to see the baby, he or she has been kicking like mad, DH thought I was exaggerating until he felt it too!

Hope everyone is keeping well Smile

PenelopeLane · 15/06/2013 20:59

I am leaving work at 34 + 1 but tempted to leave earlier! I probably won't for money reasons but it's very tempting as I have quite a full on job and want to have some time at home while I'm still productive. We'll see - I have 10 weeks left which isn't that long I suppose.

With DS I hoped to leave work at 37 weeks but due to high blood pressure got sent off by the MW at 36 weeks. I thought I'd go barmy at home but ended up having 5 weeks at home as DS was late and loved it. I'd always been a bit busy and focussed career obsessed before so it was good for me to spend that time getting into the rhythm of being at home. That was just me though, everyone's different. I know people that worked till 38 weeks, had baby at 39 weeks, and would so it all again.

But, maybe I just want to go off early as work's been full on recently and I want a break! I've booked in some leave for about 3 weeks away (and booked them for DS's creche days as well) so am hoping that a couple of days at home will recharge my batteries.

PseudoBadger · 15/06/2013 21:22

Gah I've had a headache all day :(

MrsO27 · 15/06/2013 23:11

Struggling with maternity jeans/jeggings. Got a pair of "on the bump" ones which were fine for a while but now my bump is bigger it makes the elastic flip over and roll down. Got a pair of "over the bump" ones now and after an hour or so they're about round my knees! Don't seem to have any grip around the hips, if that makes sense. They're both from mamas and papas so wondering if its a fit thing with their clothes. Can anyone recommend a good stockist of maternity jeans? If I can just get one pair which are a good fit I'll be happy! Either that or I'm going to need to wear braces Hmm

Smitten1981 · 15/06/2013 23:18

The only decent ones I've found have been the New Look under bump maternity ones with the wide elasticated band at the top.

PseudoBadger · 15/06/2013 23:23

Can I be really patronising and make sure that you've got the adjustable waist done as tight as you need it MrsO?

PseudoBadger · 15/06/2013 23:23

Because I love my M&P jeans

Flyer747 · 15/06/2013 23:40

MrsO the only ones I liked were Topshop maternity Jeans..

CocktailSausage · 15/06/2013 23:54

Hello Ladies,
I completely missed the last thread as I've been very busy. Well I'm no longer working. This means I get to spend some time with ds before the baby arrives and he starts nursery - So not a bad thing really.

The headaches have returned though. It could be iron deficiency. I had this last time.
I haven't been getting heartburn as such but I do find if I've eaten a big meal it seems to sit in my gullet (nice) So I have been back on the old friend Gaviscon.

Baby is always moving and the nesting instinct has fully kicked in. I'm forever being annoyed by dirt, I can't seem to stop cleaning.

I've added myself to the spreadsheet.Grin

CocktailSausage · 16/06/2013 00:07

Btw don't buy the Primark maternity jeans - they go baggy very quickly and you'll forever be hoicking them up.

ComtessedeFrouFrou · 16/06/2013 05:00

I've got three pairs of maternity jeans - a M & P pair of straight leg, a Debenhams pair of jeggings (horrible word) and a Debenhams pair of skinnies. All are under the bump.

The Debenhams skinnies are the most successful - the M & P pair need hoiking up constantly, despite the adjustable tabs, but are comfy enough.

What I have worked out is that if my knickers are too small, that encourages jeans (and knicker!) creep so that I have to hoik more frequently.

The jeggings are good - I never had a pair before pregnancy, but they are comfortable.

I am 5'4" though and they are all too long.

HotSoupDumpling · 16/06/2013 06:28

I love my Topshop skinnies - they came in several different lengths and colours. They are supposedly under the bump, but at this stage in pregnancy they sit in the bump - there is a bit of an un flattering ledge where the elasticated bit ends though.

Tights - H and M ones are great, no falling down so far!

Has anyone else got an itchy belly?

PseudoBadger · 16/06/2013 07:57

I've never managed to find tights in h&m :(

MrsO27 · 16/06/2013 08:15

Thanks all but I think pseudo may have hit the nail on the head. Didn't even notice those sneaky, but amazing, little waist adjusters! Can I blame baby brain so I don't look as thick? Wink Will give the (adjusted) jeans another try today and fingers crossed that works.
P.S. No issues with the knickers comtessed, I've been in big pants for weeks now! It's the best thing I've done.

MrsO27 · 16/06/2013 08:18

P.S. I get an itchy belly hotsoup, now and again. Think someone mentioned before it's related to the skin stretching.

ComtessedeFrouFrou · 16/06/2013 08:32

Trouble is MrsO is that my usual glamorous and oh so sexy Marks and Spencer high legs tend to roll down a bit against the irresistible force of my swollen tummy, so the low ride ones are nicer, just not with jeans!

OrangeBlossom2 · 16/06/2013 09:54

I have gap maternity jeans which are under bump and nice quality.

I too need to get bigger knickers, keep buying the next size up but they dig in and in and in tight maternity jersey material clothes the bulges looks awful. On 10-12 and was previously a 6. Not looking forward to my first 14-16 purchase. Sad Much happier about growing boobs and tummy and I guess I would topple over if I didn't balance it out at the back but doesn't seem necessary for growing the baby.

I have a really sore throat with spots all over the back of my throat including one where my tonsil used to be. I will be so upset if I still have enough tonsil tissue left to get tonsillitis after the pain of getting them removed. Just having honey, lemon and ginger and hoping it sorts itself out soon.

Still working on writing school reports. They tske so long! Head sent an email this morning asking me to send them to her as soon as they are ready but not sent to whole staff and the deadline is not until next weekend so ignoring that one. Got a picnic this afternoon with some good friends which has been moved to one of their houses as will probably rain. Quite pleased as it means I can have a seat. My coccyx has been quite sore and my back stiff the last few days. Generally just falling apart...
