Jelly my baby seems to like different places each day. Yesterday it was all low down bladder kicking area, sometimes the sides, occasionally higher than my belly button but it doesn't stay there long.

MotherOfNations · 29/06/2013 11:50

I think it was Natalie who asked but the proper name for Eliana's diagnosis is Tretalogy of Fallot. The consultant phoned last night to arrange another appointment in 4 wks time and I asked what the actual diagnosis was. She was surprised I hadn't been told. Perhaps the Cardiologist didn't want to bamboozle me with long words. It's one of the rarer heart defects and is quite complex but prognosis is good when treated.

I haven't witnessed the mars bar thing yet but my neices half sister is on my facebook and when her baby was 2 months old she posted a status saying " So cute! My so. Sitting watching corrie eating a milky bar".
A couple of weeks later it was "Is it wrong that my son enjoys having a cotton bud stuck up his arse to relieve constipation". When people commented asking why she would do this she said the health visitor had told her to. I felt like screaming at her "If you weren't feeding him up on chocolate he wouldn't be constipated".

OrangeBlossom2 · 29/06/2013 11:58

Glad the prognosis is good MoN and you have a name to research.

Shootingstarsandcomets · 29/06/2013 12:01

Gosh! Chocolate at 2 months!! Ds is 10 months and has never had chocolate- I must be super mean mummy!
I feel kicks all over now and can see my belly move! This gestation with ds my waters started to leak and everything went a bit wrong so hoping this bump behaves itself and does t try to come out early like ds did! So far so good!

Shirehobbit · 29/06/2013 12:19

I know what you mean Ruby - I was in bed before 9pm last night. Which meant I was then up stupidly early this morning and found myself wanting a nap at 10am! But then I had two 14+hrs days this week with end of term concerts. However, I really can't complain as I break up this next Friday. Sorry.

MoN - that chocolate stuff is really shocking. And sad. But good news on the way you and Eliana are being looked after.

Flyer747 · 29/06/2013 12:20

So far so good shooting, was your ds born prematurely?

JellyCurls · 29/06/2013 12:51

TMI alert: is anybody "leaking" down below? I have had loads of discharge this pregnancy but today I seem to be wetter down below. I am sure it's just discharge as its clear and doesn't smell at all but feels like I have wet myself. Is there any way to check it is just discharge?

ComtessedeFrouFrou · 29/06/2013 13:13

Jelly me too. I've always needed pant liners but its much worse now. Apparently it's quite common.

Shootingstarsandcomets · 29/06/2013 15:59

Not really flyer he was a month early in the end. I managed to hold onto him until 36 weeks despite the dr's doom and gloom talk that i might go into labour at 24 weeks Smile. There is no reason for it to happen again.
jelly its normal to have runnier discharge. If its your waters then they have a funny sweet smell not like wee at all so you'll know the difference. Probably just discharge I would think.
About to go to dh's family party for an 18year old cousin. Not relishing the thought of being surrounded by young slim 18 year olds!

GTbaby · 29/06/2013 16:58

Where is everybody! Lol off out enjoying the great weather I hope Grin

MotherOfNations · 29/06/2013 17:06

I was wondering the same thing GT.
How strange that during the week when you're all meant to be working the thread is very busy.
Are you having a laugh re great weather? It's horrible here. It's always the same come the start of the summer holidays.

roofio87 · 29/06/2013 17:07

I'm here!! just me and bump in tonight so about to put a massive pizza in and devour the whole thing!! getting some BIG kicks here now. definitely moving on from "Aww these kicks are lovely" to "ouch, these kicks are getting painful and annoying!!" mainly when he's hammering away at my bladder!! still love him though!! Hope everyone else is having a good Saturday Smile

Flyer747 · 29/06/2013 17:09

I was thinking the same MoN and GT I'm at work just finishing and this thread is the only interesting thing whilst I sit twiddling my thumbs with nothing to do. I need you to all comment tomorrow as I'm in work again and it's the only thing to keep me sane :-)

Shirehobbit · 29/06/2013 17:34

Well, will we finish this thread before Monday, then?

JellyCurls · 29/06/2013 18:29

Sorry ladies for my absense, i have been toilet training ds today which has consisted of me putting him on potty while I scrub the carpet only to turn round and he's off peeing somewhere else. So far our score is toilet 2 carpet 12. He's run out of pants so is wearing pink peppa pig ones just now but they have at least been dry for an hour so fingers crossed. Oh and his new words are "splashing in pee is good fun mummy!" Roll on bedtime for them

claphammama · 29/06/2013 18:36

oh the joys of potty training... glad it's behind me. oh wait... it's ahead again! good luck jelly

sorry you have to work this weekend flyer! we will keep you going

DP just got the BBQ going so no cooking for me tonight. Should be a lovely evening. I'm getting sloshed on my Bavaria beer again. He is on lovely rose... (no resentment right?) DS playing BY HIMSELF... oh miracle!!

MotherOfNations · 29/06/2013 19:23

So Jealous of the BBQ weather you're having. Here it's "pishing doon" as they say round these parts.

I'm going to make some warming African stew in a minute and something similar to fufu made with semolina flour. It's a similar consistancy to mashed potato and you break pieces off and dip it into the spicy stew.

JellyCurls · 29/06/2013 19:58

MoN you should come down the coast a wee bit, it's dull dull dull and has been all day but so far no rain.

Also jealous of BBQ weather, watching Wimbledon and everyone wearing summer clothes while I am thinking about putting on the heating.

Natalieand · 29/06/2013 20:02

Just got home from my first ever baby shower experience! Is anyone else having a baby shower?

I stupidly wore my new shoes (flats) and despite probly only taking like 200 steps for the whole afternoon as it involved alot of sitting down I have 2 big blisters on the backs of my feet boohoo! Dh has gone out on a mission to get something half nice for dinner and something cold to drink has been absolutely scorching for me (right at the bottom of the country near to Brighton) have been melting all day!

It was me that asked MoN only cos I'm a little google mad and like to understand things properly lol I just done a quick google and it says its one of the most common heart defects and has very good prognosis?

Does n e one live near Surrey? Or ever been to black bush market?dh wants to go there tommorow its like an hours drive from me so I only wanna go if its worth it ...

Loving all the nursery pics on Facebook! It's so exciting although day to day it feels as though its going slow it also seems like only yesterday we were all popping up on here saying we had just had our BFP's xx

MotherOfNations · 29/06/2013 20:39

Some pages I've looked at are saying it's rare and someare saying it's the most common one requiring surgery not sou d any pages saying that the condition itself is common.
That's the trouble with googling, all the pages say different things

Wickedgirl · 29/06/2013 20:41

I work weekends so have to get up at 6am, leave the house by 6.50 for a 7.45 start. I get home at 7 so am currently exhausted!

All I'm good for is eating and a bath before a 9 o clock bedtime.

JellyCurls · 29/06/2013 21:05

MoN beware of google unless its proper medical sites you are looking at. When I google my dd condition it says terrible things like most sufferers die in infancy and that life expectancy and quality will be poor. I have to say that I now know a few people through fb with condition and none of this is true.

rubytwosday · 29/06/2013 21:38

natalie I live very near Blackbushe. Have only been once. I wouldn't say it's worth an over an hour drive on a lovely sunny day (as tomorrow is meant to be). Definitely not an expert though..... Just asked dh as he has lived here all his life and he says that you can get anything there but a lot of it is random stuff. I'd you do go, please feed back!

MotherOfNations · 29/06/2013 21:49

I'm trying not to Google much at all but the pages I have looked at are medical sites. The discrepency seems to be in medical sites from other countries.

Natalieand · 29/06/2013 22:20

Thank you ruby that's decided that one then I shall go strawberry picking instead lol.

Its all well and good having the sun MoN but now its too hot in my room even with the windows wide open cos there is no breeze. So at least u have that to be great full for xx

Weeks 16-20 seemed to fly by for me but 20-24 has dragged like anything. Does anyone else find certain weeks/milestones seem to drag compared to others?
