I bought M&S 'full briefs' (yep, you heard me right!) in a size up and for now they cover my belly and give me a bit of support. They are passion killers, but oh so very comfy and secure! It won't be long before they start rolling down though with the ever increasing bump and I'll have to go back to ones that don't sit under my armpits Sad

roofio87 · 16/06/2013 10:22

I like my primark maternity jeans, I wear a belt with them though!! I have a couple of pairs of Jojo mamen bebe jeans my sister gave me and I've never had such good fitting jeans in my life!! they are a size smaller than.I would normally go for so I was surprised they fit but they're perfect!!

Flyer747 · 16/06/2013 10:37

I'm with you all on the passion killing full belly smacker knickers! I don't care though just like comfort these days.

I've just ordered my first Fruit & Veg box from a company called able&cole and I have to say I'm impressed. I went to my friends the other night and she has them delivered to her door weekly, and the quality was really good, all organic and the carrots were so sweet, much better than supermarket fruit & veg. They also do a baby box for £12.50 per week so when the baby starts on solids you can purée the fruit and veg, knowing its all organic, I'm sold on the idea...probably loads of you have heard of this already.

They sell meat and loads of other stuff too and we had burgers for dinner 100% organic and they were so tasty, and all the prices worked out roughly not much more than you'd spend in the supermarket!

TheCatIsUpTheDuff · 16/06/2013 10:45

I like my Primark skinnies too! I've tried various others but they all fall down, so I think I'll be mostly in leggings. My thighs now rub, which they never did before, so my pretty floaty skirts and dresses are a lot less appealing.

rubytwosday · 16/06/2013 10:51

I have some Asos maternity jeans which aren't bad but do need hoicking up if I bend down. OrangeI know exactly how you feel! Was staying with friends last weekend and they have a full length mirror in the bathroom so saw full length naked me for the first time in quite a while. My bum is massive! At least as big as my belly - definitely need bigger knickers!

cazboldy · 16/06/2013 11:01

I hate all maternity clothes! just buy stetchy in the next size up!

Expensive tat that makes you look horrible!

claphammama · 16/06/2013 11:31

I also have maternity wardrobe issues and fail to feel even vaguely attractive most of these days. Big pants only, my jeans crotch somewhere near my knees and the elasticated band keeps rolling down... can't remember having so many issues when pregnant with DS1. Luckily my company's dress code is such that I can live in my jeans or even shorts and flip flops if I wish. No idea how I would manage formal wardrobe right now... still, would like to look and feel better.

flyer lots of people in our area get abel & cole and we also do it quite often. I love it - such an easy way to eat healthily and I also find that I get to cook and experiment with different veg I wouldn't buy otherwise. Also hooked on organic meat. More expensive but tastes so much better... the problem is - once you get used to food tasting like this, there is no going back!!

Just about to go for a walk in the common and get some caffeine for the baby. Stopped feeling guilty about it - one thing I can't give up... need some energy as DS has been a nightmare the last couple of days, probably because the weather had been crap and he hasn't been out. Boys really are like little dogs - need to be walked whatever the weather or go crazy otherwise.

Shirehobbit · 16/06/2013 12:11

Off to the in-laws for lunch.
Give me the strength to rise above all the inappropriate comments, no matter how well intentioned...

Flyer747 · 16/06/2013 12:17

Can I ask a stupid question. I have seen a swinging crib for sale on eBay it comes with bedding and a mattress it has been fully assembled and states it has never been used. I want to bid on it but it's worrying me why it hasn't been used, (is it jinxed, silly superstitions) would any of you ladies on here buy it?

Smitten1981 · 16/06/2013 13:05

Flyer - yes. People probably get a lot of things that they think they will use but don't. Probably a case of that rather than anything that might jinx you!

HannahLaRouge · 16/06/2013 16:14

Wow, these threads move quickly :) hope all are feeling well. Had our 20 week scan on Monday (now 21+1) and we're having a boy, so excited!

Haylebop12 · 16/06/2013 16:34

Congrats ok your boy hannah they really are taking over the thread.

My pram chassis came today. It's the same push chair I had with dd but I've ordered the two handled chassis as I previously had the one handled version. Didn't find it very practical for shopping. I also didn't have the carrycot with dd but considering getting it as we walk to school and back most days and until 6 months ill be using the car seat on the frame. As they don't make this push chair anymore I have had to order on eBay but got a chassis for £30 and can get the carrycot for around £50. Bargain!

Haylebop12 · 16/06/2013 16:35

I feel like all the big spend items are sorted and everything else needed is small. Trying to get as much now before I got on mat leave and drop in wages!

Wickedgirl · 16/06/2013 17:11

I am finishing work in 6 weeks when I'll be 30 weeks although my boss has said that if I need to leave earlier that's fine. I can't wait.

Shootingstarsandcomets · 16/06/2013 19:25

Yes flyer we do Abel and cole in this house and I love it! Also we do graze boxes - get invoked with those! Healthy snacks delivered to your door! Hope everyone's had a good father and father to be day!

OrangeBlossom2 · 16/06/2013 19:28

Had a lovely indoor picnic at friends house today with a bit of outdoor time when the sun came out. Really tired after two socialising days in a row. My best friend is trying for a second baby, it will be lovely to have ours close together.

xuntitledx · 16/06/2013 19:37

Just catching up on the new thread, lots to update on!

My maternity leave will also be starting on 6 September (using annual leave until the end of the month) and I'm due on 6 October so imagine I will be glad of the break before baba comes.

Hubby and I have been nesting ALL week as we've had a weeks annual leave and we've managed to clear the spare room and decorate. Still have a few touch ups to do but that can wait until next weekend.

Planning on booking a private scan also but thinking of waiting until around August time to break up the wait!

For those of us with anterior placentas, I'm really starting to feel strong kicks and squirms (24 weeks) so if you're still early and not feeling much yet then hopefully it won't be much longer for you either.

In regards to maternity wear, I've bought some fab jeans from Next - had to hem them but they fit really well and make me feel less of a dumpy pregnant lady and more like myself.

Finally, very TMI so forgive me but does anybody else have crusty nipples?! Google suggests colostrum (dried) but just wanted to check that I'm not alone!

ComtessedeFrouFrou · 16/06/2013 19:46

Yes to slightly crusty nipples.

You lot are so organised! We have an early Oct due date and I've picked up a few things (and we've bought the buggy) but the nursery is still being decorated so I haven't really started buying yet. Picked up a bargain second hand change table on eBay for about 6 quid, so that's in the garage waiting for the decorating to finish.

OrangeBlossom2 · 16/06/2013 19:50

Yes on the nipples untitled. I have white/almost orange bits in the cracks and then they are also dry, white, cracked and crusty. I am not sure of it is early colostrum or not as I have had it for weeks and that seems early for it to start but perhaps. Have never seen any wet liquid. I am just putting facial moisturiser on for the moment until I get round to buying some nipple cream.

Too much sharing?!

roxvox · 16/06/2013 20:44

Evening ladies.

I am supremely jealous of those of you nesting! I've got the in-laws (DH's parents, brother and sister in law, plus niece) coming to stay the last weekend in July, and will need the 'nursery' to be a double bedroom until then. It's killing me not being able to buy stuff, but we need to save room until early August.

DH and I visited the new Kiddicare near us today and I got to show him the britax affinity. We both love it, and I like the idea of the Britax car seats, so it's perfect for us as it's so easy to clip the car seat in and out etc. The only colours we liked were the blue and the purple though... So we've decided that that's the pram we want, and DH will order the colour choice in October when we know whether we have a boy or girl! I have an image in my mind of DH being already on the phone to kiddicare when I give the last push that delivers our baby!

claphammama · 16/06/2013 22:15

roxvox be careful and ask how long you will have to wait. My friend ordered her buggy 4 weeks before her due date and it was supposed to arrive in 3 weeks. She had her baby 2 weeks early and the little girl is now 6 weeks. She is still waiting for the buggy... something went wrong with her order, things got lost, noone notified her etc...

I need to wash bits from DS's buggy to get it ready for the new baby (it's bright orange!) but procrastinating as really scared to take them off and not be able to put them back again... there are so many!

Sunday blues thinking of being back at work tomorrow... DS has been a nightmare the whole weekend. Exhausting battle of wills!

roxvox · 16/06/2013 22:38

Thanks for the tip clapham, that's a good point actually. We can always use the second hand silver cross that Mum and Dad have bought in the meantime, but I would quite like to have the buggy straight away really. I think we'd better look into this some more Smile

Haylebop12 · 16/06/2013 22:49

clapham I also need to wash covers, mine is dead easy mind. I'm worried about washing the hood though as I don't want to break the plastic bits inside...

CocktailSausage · 17/06/2013 00:34

Where did you get a belt from roofio? I can't seem to find one to fit Blush. I also have a pair of jojo jeans and they are rather big in my current size but I bought them knowing I will gain weight and I may not be able to fit in to even my maternity clothing as pregnancy progresses (like last pregnancy)

LittlePeaPod · 17/06/2013 05:20

Hi ladies. Great to see you are all doing well. Not sure you will remember me but I was on the Oct thread but mc in Feb. as some of you will be aware I am now lucky enough to be on the January 2014 thread.

Just came on for a little bit of advice. We are heading into our second trimester and some of us need to start thinking about maternity wear. Can you ladies recommend anywhere? Thank you.. Smile
