Oohfeminist. Did you say you can eat while waiting for second round of tests? I have mine in 2 weeks and I have been panicking at having to stay hungry till they are done.

Literarily panic, as I can't stay hungry for long without feeling like rubbish! Good luck with everything.

GTbaby · 27/06/2013 10:40

Funky I don't think that's what fem meant. When I has mine I had to wait until 2nd test before eating.
Another lady felt faint and had to lay down. But wasn't aloud to eat!

Just trying to catch up with you chatty ladies.

flyer Isofix bases are convenient but really not essential. It doesn't take long to strap a car seat in using a seatbelt

hayley I have already washed and ironed all of the baby's stuff and it is all sitting neatly in the new cupboard. I have bought everything I need now so can sit back and relax. I only have one more pay check before going on maternity leave so I wanted everything bought while I was still earning a reasonable salary.

socks I am 25+1 and am exhausted. I have started having an hours nap after lunch on the days I'm not working as I am so tired. The SPD wakes me at night as ever time I try to move in bed I wake up in pain.

For those stressing about weight.... I put on 3 stone with babies one and two and put on 4stone with baby 3. All from a starting weight weight of 8stone 2. I was enormous! I lost a stone overnight when they were born and then lost it quickly with one and two but kept some of it on from baby 3. I started this pregnancy at 9 stone and have now put on 17lb

None of my babies were little. My dd was 8lb 15oz and came on her due date. DS1 was 9lb 13oz and came 10 days early. DS2 was 9lb 4oz and was 4 days early

FeministInTraining · 27/06/2013 12:06

Sorry Funkky I meant after the second test I can eat. About to treat myself to Nandos with my mum for lunch Grin

Just had to sit on the floor of the shopping centre with my water and cereal bar as I thought I was going to faint. I advise you to eat something as soon as you are allowed- stupid me 'saving myself' for Nandos!! The positive from today is that my 24 week app was booked for this afternoon but there was someone who could see me straight away so no going back! Bump size perfect for dates (24cm at 24weeks) so no complaints.

Hope you enjoy your bump and baby spotting in the sun claphammama Smile

Haylebop12 · 27/06/2013 12:23

Exactly my thinking wicked I wanted to get every thing sorted before I took a paycut!

At work till 5 boooo but off tomorrow and have mil + her bf coming to stay for the weekend so lots of cleaning up to do!

25 wk mw appt tomoz, wonder if she will weigh me?

LostMySocks · 27/06/2013 12:27

Haylebop. I had 25 week (supposed to be 24 but I was away) appointment on mon. They just checked BP,urine and listened to the baby's heartbeat. No weighing or bump measuring.

funkky · 27/06/2013 12:47

Oh well!
Will just have to eat as soon as able!

Wow to everyone whose done all baby shopping. We are moving house as well and a bit overwhelmed with all there is to do. Do I wait for mortgage decision before buying stuff missing all the sales and being too heavy and tired to buy anything or do I take a risk purchase will not fall through and start buying?!

Wickedgirl · 27/06/2013 12:47

I don't see my midwife for another 3 weeks. It's a huge gap from 16 weeks until 28 weeks

MotherOfNations · 27/06/2013 12:54

24 weeks today and just had a very positive appointment with the cardiologist at Yorkhill.
He said the diagnosis is still the same but that the scan today was more encouraging and he doesn't think they'll have to operate straight away now.
He said my hospital stay after birth will be the same as as if the baby wad healthy.
He said there is a small chance that the pulmonary artery can become smaller but that this is unlikely and is very pleased that the artery is there at all as in some cases it is non- existent.
As far as he is concerned there is no need for my care to be transferred which is a relief as the other hospital is a nightmare to get to. I don't see him again until I'm 34 weeks but I have a designated cardiology midwife I can contact if I have any worries in the meantime.

MotherOfNations · 27/06/2013 12:56

A wee bit too many "he said" there.

ComtessedeFrouFrou · 27/06/2013 12:56

Also v tired here. I get to Wednesday and think "oh no, another two days!"

I've got tomorrow off and the next two weeks. Apart from anything else, I feel I need a break from work for a bit, even though its only 5 weeks since our last holiday Blush

One of the people I'm working with (who's also a friend, incidentally) had expressed dismay that I am going to be off work and asked if we were going away, clearly thinking that she might be able to persuade me to cancel - no chance! As it happens we're not going until Sunday, but I really feel I need that extra day so I've got a chance to rest before we go away and I feel like I've done my fair share doing favours for her at work recently.

I've obviously got to the stage where I have started not giving a stuff about work and I'm just counting down to ML!

BowlFullofJelly · 27/06/2013 13:05

I'm with you on that Wicked - have 28 week appointment on Monday and feels like forever since I saw a HCP. When is the next appointment for 2nd timers - is it 34 weeks? Am pretty sure I am going to have a private scan between 30 and 32 weeks though - unless I can persuade my midwife to refer me for one, as have a feeling I will be measuring big!

Still haven't started on any baby stuff at all! I like to be organised, but I'm also quite impatient and so don't want everything done too early. Am assuming this one will be late as well though, hope my blase attitude doesn't come back to bite me in the fat bum!

BowlFullofJelly · 27/06/2013 13:07

Cross post MON - that's great news, how are you feeling? You have really been on an emotional rollercoaster, you must be mentally as well as physically exhausted Flowers

claphammama · 27/06/2013 13:17

that's the best news MoN! Hope you can relax a bit now xx

Don't you have to buy all the baby stuff anyway funkky? How will your house move affect what you buy other than the inconvenience of having to pack and move the baby stuff as well?

MotherOfNations · 27/06/2013 13:19

I'm feeling really positive Bowfull but also wary of something happening to bring me crashing down again.

Natalieand · 27/06/2013 13:27

Just caught up but can't remember everything

Asda had all the clothes in the sale today so got a few more baby items there, have also ordered the buggy board for dd to use :-) gotta love baby purchases!!

Weight wise I am +7.5lbs I'm 24+3 but I'm too fussed what I gain tbh surely that's luxury of being pregnant?

I'm glad everything went well today MoN and that's u can enjoy a few weeks of pregnancy before having lots more appts and that u will get to spend some quality time with your baby when she's born before she needs any further intervention xx

BowlFullofJelly · 27/06/2013 13:27

How many weeks are you MON? - I know we are all eager to meet our new arrivals but you must be going crazy! Not much else I can say, but I genuinely hope your little girl has no other surprises for you and you can just concentrate on getting through the challenges ahead xx.

Comtessede - I am there with you. To be honest I haven't been very focused at work pretty much since 20 week scan, so nearly 2 months - but it's getting really bad now, am struggling to even pretend I care! Quick straw poll - anyone in the group still 100% focused on work? Or is everyone on countdown?

claphammama · 27/06/2013 13:34

about 5% focused here bowlfull. These 5% are mainly dedicated to feeling guilty about how little I care and counting days to my ML

MotherOfNations · 27/06/2013 13:39

24 wks today. Bowlfull I can't wait to get a date for my c-section so that I've got a focus.

BowlFullofJelly · 27/06/2013 13:48

OK, that's made me feel much better, thanks clapham - though you aren't planning on going back are you? I think I will have to, so can't be too blatant Wink.

Do you know when you are getting your date MON?

claphammama · 27/06/2013 13:58

True, this makes all the difference bowlfull. I'm not planning to go back if I can help it...

claphammama · 27/06/2013 14:17

By the way, have been thinking a lot recently about retraining and doing something very different in the future. I'm doing corporate communications / public relations now and CAN DO IT NO MORE

I was thinking about getting qualifications in nutrition and becoming a nutritionist. (as you've probably gathered by now I love food and anything to do with food...) I'm also a qualified yoga teacher (although have always been too busy to teach). So I've been thinking about combining yoga and nutrition... and do yoga for health, to address different health problems, rather than yoga for looks, the way people tend to do it. For example, I have a few friends who are overweight and would love to do yoga but are too intimidated by usual classes full of skinny girls in lycra etc... or yoga & nutrition for mental health, pregnancy etc...

What do you think about it? Is it a bit too utopian and too niche? There are so many yoga teachers in London so I feel that you need something else to give you an edge. Feel free to tell me I'm being naive and living in a different world!!

FeministInTraining · 27/06/2013 14:37

I think you're in the perfect area to do something like that Claphammama maybe you could get the qualification while you're on maternity leave? How long is the course? Have you got a spare room at home you could work from at the beginning? Or look into renting a space... I think you should give it a go, you never know until you try and you're half way there with the yoga qual anyway!

Sparkeleigh · 27/06/2013 14:46

MON I'm so pleased for you! That's brilliant news! Hope you get time to relax and put your feet up this afternoon, you must be exhausted!

I'm 23+6 today and pretty tired, I need to go to sleep earlier but I'm finding it hard to get comfortable at the minute, I'm not used to sleeping on my side!

I also had a narrow run in with pregnancy hormones at the weekend, we were reversing into a parking space when a man tapped on the back window and said he was saving it for his wife... Sadly Luckily DH was driving and refused to get into an argument and drove up to another spot... Then I came home and read the parking in the driveway thread in chat which cheered me right up Grin

Wickedgirl · 27/06/2013 14:47

Mon.....that's so good to hear.

I too am counting down the days at work
