MON Flowers

claphammama · 27/06/2013 15:22

Thanks feminist. No idea what kind of training I would need yet... My friend's neighbour is an established nutritionist, also around here. I've met him a few times through her and texted him earlier this week asking for a chat and advice but he's never responded. (prick?) So will have to investigate further. Don't think I have a suitable space at home so would probably need to do something externally... but I guess this is still a long way off. Also need to check if my yoga qual would count when it comes to getting insurance etc... I got them in India and, ironically, insurance companies often prefer British qualifications. I'm getting more and more set on it though! Don't want to be too scared to try something I would really love to do and then regret not trying!

claphammama · 27/06/2013 15:33

sparkeleigh I also have terrible problems sleeping recently and getting comfortable in bed. Very frustrating indeed...

PseudoBadger · 27/06/2013 15:33

So pleased you've had good news MoN!!
I'm feeling very happy after my scan and doctor appointment today. She pencilled in a date for my elcs (7th October!) and I've got 2 more doppler/growth scans at 29 and 34 weeks. So I'm feeling very positive.

BowlFullofJelly · 27/06/2013 16:52

Clapham I think if you are in a position where you can give this a go with no risk to your family, then it would be a real shame not to try. Have been thinking about this and you could target pregnant, post natal women, make the sessions child friendly etc (may be getting a little carried away with your vision though Grin).

That's lovely news pseudo - is it you that is having the research scans or have a got confused and your having extra scans for something else? Also (probably dim question) whats a doppler scan?

BowlFullofJelly · 27/06/2013 16:53

'you're', not 'your'

LostMySocks · 27/06/2013 16:53

Great news MoN.

BowlFullofJelly · 27/06/2013 16:53

bold fail - I give up, must be home time!

HotSoupDumpling · 27/06/2013 17:25

Glad to hear the news mon.

Pseudo - no wonder you're happy. I'd love my ELCS date to be settled, but alas they won't do it until the last minute. I don't like the uncertainty.

Clapham - sounds like a great idea to me. Since you'll be on mat leave, it's not hugely risky. I think the main things for my friends and I note when trying to find classes/massage people/nutritionists are: 1) to market yourself so people can find you (search engines, local RL and virtual forums etc), 2) to make sure you have a really good comprehensive website so they can look you up once they've found you.

Flyer747 · 27/06/2013 17:37

Mon thats great news, hopefully now you can start to enjoy your pregnancy.

I'm in work until 8pm today and its dead shoot me please.

Roofio has one of those count down to babies arrival signs, I need to find a countdown to maternity leave sign, this would get me more excited at the moment!

Clapham, this is what I found with neighbours when i lived in London. I used to say hello and more often than not got ignored. My new neighbours are all a bit strange too, they keep themselves to themselves. Where we've just moved from we had fab neighbours on both sides and were forever in one anothers houses going for meals etc, we miss them loads, although we still see them about once a week.

And I think it's a great idea about the yoga/nutrionalist training. My sister does yoga and is currently on holiday with her yoga group. Her instructor is a nutrionalist too and my sister is forever trying her recipes, detox plans etc she loves it. I think you will never know until you try, and it could be the best thing you ever did career wise, if it's your 2 passions (cooking and yoga) i'm sure you'll be a great success.

MotherOfNations · 27/06/2013 17:46

I tbooking in they said they booking in they said they would decide on a date at 34 wks.
I'm so glad I can relax a bit now as I've got so much going on. I've got to face youngest dd's biological father in court next month as he is fighting me for access which I am not willing to grant him as the last time I saw him was when dd was 4 months old when he climbed in the window to my flat and tried to take her.
He's only now decided he wants to see her as he thinks it will help his immigration case.

Flyer747 · 27/06/2013 18:00

Oh blimey MoN, I bet it has been a worrying few months. I hope you get the outcome you want with dd and the courts. It must be very stressful.

MotherOfNations · 27/06/2013 18:05

Very Flyer . I feel upset for Dp as he has been her daddy since she was a baby and is the only father she's ever known.

Flyer747 · 27/06/2013 18:28

Aww bless you MoN, you certainly have been pushed to the limit recently. My mum was raised by her stepdad, she never knew her real father. He tried to contact her several times but she wasn't interested, as in her eyes her dad was the man who cared for her and brought her up. I couldn't have wished for a better grandad either. I imagine your dp is a brilliant dad to her and she will know this.

P.s everytime you mention your dp i get the image of depserate dan! :-)

funkky · 27/06/2013 18:34

MON glad to hear your news and hope everything progresses as normal from now on.

clapham just worried about buying stuff I can't set up in current house as too small I.e. cot, wardrobe etc. i could buy now and set up when we move but then I can't return it if i dont like it cause returns would have expired......

roofio87 · 27/06/2013 18:43

glad you had a good appointment today Mon. it all sounds so up and down for you, glad you have your dp and your dcs to look after you!

I've been having some more braxton hicks today (tummy feels rock hard) and then just general acheness the rest of the time, which I guess is just from uterus contracting and stretching!! feels like very mild.period pains. does this sound normal?!

off work tonight Grin Grin Grin !! so just settling in for fish fingers, chips and beans for tea!!

TheFalconsmistress · 27/06/2013 18:51

Not posted in while sorry if I have missed loads, forgive me?

I had a call from hospital iron levels are normal after on the one transfusion and thyroid is normal with small dose meds Smile so happy wee on is still measuring big but not too big 30 Weeks and im 27 on Sunday.

So im just pottering along getting all the bits in I need.

MotherOfNations · 27/06/2013 18:51

I would never stop him seeing her if I thought he genuinely cared but I know he doesn't. It's just another plan he's thought up to stop him being deported. Shortly after I last saw him he married a woman in her 50s. He's only just turned 30 so I'm sure that relationship is genuine.

MotherOfNations · 27/06/2013 18:53

Hi Falcon. I was wondering where you were.
I'm glad all is well.

claphammama · 27/06/2013 19:01

haha - same here flyer, can't get the image of Desperate Dan out of my head :-)

MoN - joking aside, this sounds terrible and so stressful... the last thing you need right now. Can your lawyer demonstrate that the only reason he is interested now is because of his selfish immigration worries? Some people have no scruples... and, as flyer says, father is the person who looks after children and brings them up so definitely Desperate Dan.

thanks so much everyone for your comments and advice! Glad I'm not living in cuckoo land then. hotsoup I work for Google so know some clever people who can advise me how to make my website good, searchable and how to promote it online. I agree - the most important bit I would need to nail down. bowlfull yes, it's the first time in my life I can do it without compromising my family or losing sleep over mortgage. First time I'm not the main breadwinner!

flyer where is your sister staying in India? I'm jealous!!

funkky if it's furniture you are buying, all makes sense. But the baby really doesn't need wardrobes and won't need a cot for the first 3 months, at least. So you still have time to get all these big things.

flyer only one hour to go! don't lose hope :-)

claphammama · 27/06/2013 19:03

cross-post with falcon - great news! Grin

Flyer747 · 27/06/2013 19:17

My sister is in Turkey clapham somewhere called The Grenadine Lodge, she has been up everyday at 7am to do 2.5 hours of yoga, it would be no good for me those early starts. They have pomegrante trees and have fresh juice daily, it sounds lovely there.

I love India, which parts have you been to? I travelled for 3 months and loved it....I never got ill once whilst travelling there, but have picked up food poisoning twice from 5 star hotels in delhi whilst downroute with work.

Shootingstarsandcomets · 27/06/2013 19:18

Great news falcon and mon!
I think your idea sounds great clapham I would go to classes! I do baby yoga with ds and he loves it- I think! The instructor is great and has her 14month old there too and when the babies don't want to be yoga'd we do bits for us, it's great.
Can't remember who was saying but yes I am exhausted these last few days. Also ds seems to be changing his nap pattern and has decided he doesn't need them- he is 10 months so he is wrong about this!!

claphammama · 27/06/2013 19:30

sounds so blissful flyer - I want to be there now! I had to get up at 5am every day for 6am classes to give my body some time to wake up. You get used to it actually although I have no idea how I did it as normally struggle to get up even at 9am on the weekend and DP does the morning shift...

I spent a lot of time in Bangalore as this is where my yoga master was based and in Mysore. Also travelled a lot in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The North India keeps eluding me though... had a great holiday planned about 3 years ago with a friend - we were going to go to Varanasi, Rishikesh and Darjeeling... and she got pregnant a week before we had to book our flights! So selfish of her :-) I'm still going to go there one day! Where have you been? Such an amazing place

shooting I could do free classes for our group one day :-)

MotherOfNations · 27/06/2013 20:18

She even looks like my partner. She doesn't have the Desperate Dan jaw though.
His immigration worries are one of the things we have on our side also the matter of how I came to be pregnant a week after meeting him. It wasn't consensual and he did move himself in with me. All against my wishes but so difficult to prove.
I only found the courage to kick him out when dd was 2 wks old and he tried to punch me while I was holding her.
