haha she sounds so grown up MoN. definitely one for mumsnet!

This is so sweet socks. My DP can't really feel anything because of my anterior placenta and acts annoyed when I call him over asking to try to feel it... so, in turn, I keep getting upset with him... I just really want him to feel it and share it with me - think he should appreciate it and not find it annoying!

Haylebop12 · 26/06/2013 20:39

clapham your ds made me chuckle. I too have dd who acts 14. Yesterday I had "mum I really love you, can I have another pudding?"

Nice try sunshine!

Flyer747 · 26/06/2013 20:47

Bowlful I'm pretending i did not see your comment on ladies that bf and struggling to lose weight, I only saw the bit where weight dropped off straight away :-)

Clapham hopefully DP will start to feel movements soon, I think you are a few weeks behind me and I've recently started seeing my belly move and DP can feel it now.

Apprentice time in 15 minutes, I love it...most, in fact all of the contestants are idiots but it makes great viewing watching them all argue.

PseudoBadger · 26/06/2013 20:56

Ok so I bfed until DS was 27 months (2 months ago). After having him I lost 3.5 stone, barely any in the first 6 months though, every time I tried I felt ill. Then I did WW whilst breastfeeding (you get extra points) and lost without trying.

HotSoupDumpling · 26/06/2013 21:00

That's lovely socks. DH sometimes forgets I'm pregs!

Sanjifair · 26/06/2013 21:10

I'm another one who put on quite a lot last time. Gained 3 stone, then lost a stone and a half at the birth (DS was 9lb 9 oz). I was pretty much '9 months on, 9 months off' with the rest of the weight, though lost most of it within the first 6 months, and was 4-5 lb over my normal weight for ages before making the effort to lose it (by running more, I don't do diets!). At the moment, I've put on 1 stone 5 lb, I put on loads in May, but haven't gained a single lb in June, though stomach still expanding! Weird.

cuillereasoupe · 26/06/2013 21:30

I've put on eleven pounds, but I'm a couple of weeks behind most of you.

PenelopeLane · 26/06/2013 21:43

I've put on 1.5 stone which I am actually happy with as last time I put on 3.3 stone and at this stage had put on about 2 stone, so am tracking to put on less so far! I never really lost all my weight last time, was doing well until I stopped EBF at about 6 months then stopped losing at about 5 pounds above my pre pregnancy weight. I kept breast feeding until he was almost 1, but once he was on solids and drinking less it didn't seem to make a difference anymore.

I am hoping that this time I don't put on as much as last time so at least am starting from the same place again with weight loss as last pregnancy!

I honestly don't think weight gain is any indication of how you'll look a year after pregnancy though. You might put on 4 stone and lose it all, or only 10 pounds but only lose 5 of that.

Does anyone else have a really sore pelvis? Mine hurts after I've been sitting for a while. Ow!

ComtessedeFrouFrou · 26/06/2013 21:43

I've just weighed myself - I've put on 11 pounds (due 3 October) which I'm pretty pleased with.

I lost a stone and a half last year (weightwatchers) which has obviously really changed my eating habits for the better. Whilst I haven't been denying myself (and I ate a lot of Haribo type sweets in the early days) I have been determined to basically eat normally and I was lucky that my main craving was fruit.

Plus, there's a lot of cake you can eat before you start to catch up with all the wine calories you're not taking on Grin

ananikifo · 26/06/2013 21:51

I have had to give up on controlling my weight, not that I ever could. I lost for almost the whole first half of my pregnancy, then when I started gaining an tried to control my eating even though my appetite had returned, I almost fainted at work. Now we've moved and life is chaotic, so I try my best but my diet is far from ideal. I figure all I can do is my best and as long as baby is healthy I can deal with it.

Regarding isofix, our car is too old for it so it's not even an option. Once the salespeople hear that they leave us alone so at least it's one less thing people are trying to sell us.

And finally, we're getting paid this week, and we're getting money back from our rental deposit and from overpaying for utilities, so I'm finally buying baby things this month whether I have space for them or not! I want gnappies and babygrows with little animals on them! I had initially planned to buy things on eBay but I'm annoyed by people charging £5 shipping for a £3 and it ends up not being much cheaper anyway.

MrsO27 · 26/06/2013 22:02

I'm also worried about weight gain,so much so that I haven't gone near any scales, but I can see the weight gain in my face and thighs in particular. My bump is also more of a B shape than a nice round D, think the top part if the 'B' is just fat! Hoping the 2 parts join together soon!
Anyone else stopped wearing their rings? My engagement and wedding rings have been tight the last couple of days so thinking about putting them on a chain tomorrow. Bit sad about it but DH said he would buy me a temporary (bigger) ring to wear instead. Not going to bother but sweet of him to suggest it.
Also, pelvic floors.... Anyone got any tips for remembering to do the exercises regularly? I only ever seem to remember every other day.

ananikifo · 26/06/2013 22:08

I wish I remembered to do pelvic floor exercises every other day! I'm thinking of setting an alarm on my phone.

ComtessedeFrouFrou · 26/06/2013 22:15

I tried setting an alarm on my phone but it generally went off when I couldn't concentrate enough to do them - I need to be sitting down somewhere not doing anything else Blush

Hi ladies, have caught with the last weeks posts now after being away last week. There were so many things discussed I've lost track already, hope things are looking up for all those who were having a rough time. Oh and want to wish MON good luck for your next appt tmrw.

Also just wanted to vent a little too if you'll indulge me, we did a tour of our hospital last night which I hoped would put my mind at ease but hasn't helped as much as I'd hoped. Nothing wrong with hospital at all I think I'm just trying deal with the fact my mum doesn't approve of the way we are doing things. I'm from Aus and one of my sisters had a baby boy a few weeks ago and had private hospital care (much more accessible financially than London). Have talked through with DH and we are in the best situation we can be but still feel uncertain about everything. Sorry for long post.

Haylebop12 · 26/06/2013 22:57

mrsO I too have took my rings off. My hands seem to swell up on and off and when they do its rather uncomfortable. I tend to take them off for work anyway as its fairly pHysical (Sainsbury's)

Your dh sounds lovely Smile

MrsO27 · 26/06/2013 23:26

He has his moments hayle, although he got laser eye surgery today and has been far from lovely. It's worse than man flu! I've had the surgery myself so know what it's like the first few hours afterwards but, according to him, he's suffering far more than I ever did Hmm Just as well they don't have to give birth...

MrsO27 · 26/06/2013 23:33

ellie i think it's normal to feel uncertain about everything, I know I do. Is it your first?

pinkbuttons · 27/06/2013 08:01

Sending hugs to you ellie its really difficult when family doesnt approve, have you heard any feedback on your particular hospital? may help settle your fears a bit.
Thats lovely of your DH socks and sorry to hear your is beomg hard work mrso hope hes feeling better today.
I have been horrible to DH this morning, pregnancy rage took over and now feel really awful. I shouted at him for not taking DS down for breakfast and giving me an extra half hr in bed when theres really no reason he should. Now Im lying in bed and just feeling guilty so its a lose lose situation. Going to have to apologise, which I hate doing. rubbish!
sorry for the moan ladies, hope everyone else slept well!

LostMySocks · 27/06/2013 09:24

Anyone else started to get tired again. I'm between 25 and 26 weeks and finding it so hard to get out of bed. Wondering if baby having a growth spurt as my bump seems to be getting bigger every day. Rather scared of how big it'll en up as there as still 3 months to go

FeministInTraining · 27/06/2013 09:35

Morning ladies, I've been keeping up with reading the thread but I've forgotten everything!

Flowers to Flyer for being kind to Emmo and making me well up in the process! Mum and best friend suffer from herpes due to irresponsible ex partners who ignored symptoms so I think it's lovely that MN (and our lovely thread) makes people feel that they can share things. A shame it's still a taboo subject in RL though...

My pushchair is booked for delivery 4 weeks before my due date but I'll get the car seat before that just in case there's a problem. Imagine they told me I couldn't take my baby home! Shock

Sitting in the waiting room, having my GTT. About 70 mins to go until they take the second blood tests- and I can eat!!! Got a book and knitting with me but I'm quite enjoying staring at other bumps and maternity outfits people watching.

Pink pregnancy rage is expected I think. Mine was bad at the beginning which is good as DP is now really happy that most of the time he has the normal me back (as normal as it gets anyway!)

Claphammama I think it was you that mentione Child Genius. Is it bad that I was hoping Hugo would get knocked out?! And I was outraged at his dads comment at the end about the other kids being swotty and encouraging Hugo to say F off about them!! Oscar to win CG and Jordan for Apprentice!

claphammama · 27/06/2013 09:35

I feel permanently tired socks... and yes, according to one of the newsletters I get every week, the baby will double in size between weeks 23 and 27 so you should be seeing some major growth this month. I'm only 23+2 and this scares me as I already feel massive!

Just took DS to school - I know it may sound silly but I absolutely love doing the school run this week instead of taking him to the breakfast club. Chatting to other mums and seeing him waiting in line to go in. OK - forget the "in line" part... things I never have a chance to do!

There are some really friendly mums in our school so I look forward to getting to know them. On the other hand, fed up with our neighbours by now. So indifferent and unfriendly - the most depressing thing about London? We've been making so much effort since we moved in in late November and get so little response. They are not even friendly with each other so not just us, generally not bothered. Don't get me wrong - I would hate being so close to neighbours that they knock on the door and come whenever they want, but would be nice to have a civil friendly conversation when we bump into each other. They all have small children and don't work! Arrgh... going to give up now.

claphammama · 27/06/2013 09:40

not bad at all feminist! Hugo and his dad were outrageous - especially his dad! agree - Oscar is my favourite and so humble (nice change)

Good luck with your GTT testing and enjoy bump watching. I live in the nappy valley so just need to leave the house to do some bump watching. Have two days off left so may go to Clapham Common in a bit for a nice walk and some bump / babies watching
