MoN thinkung of you!!! So sorry!

legallyblond · 20/06/2013 15:41

I've been googling 22q (obviously it might not be that and if it is, will be getting much more knowledgable advice than google). It seems its a spectrum disorder, so there is always the hope of being at the less severe end if it is that. I guess try not to worry until you have to worry... If it is a hole in the heart only, there is a lot of hope. A cousin, now 4, had 5 ops to fix hers and throughout was full of beans and bubbly! She had (now all fixed) blue finger tips and lips, but that seemed to be it!

claphammama · 20/06/2013 15:44

I don't even know what to say MoN... just that I'm thinking of you and hope tomorrow will bring better news. Tomorrow can't arrive fast enough for all of us now xxxxx

cazboldy · 20/06/2013 15:55

Oh MoN so so sad to read this....... really don't know what else to say, except that I'll be thinking of you, and have my fingers very tightly crossed for you xxxxx

Re wetting yourself....... I honestly have never had this happen - even after 5 normal births! I can go on a trampoline, run etc with no probs...... I think it might be because of horse riding.

I really must post a bump pic too, as mine is actually still quite neat! I thought with number 6 it would just give up and all hang out, but I guess that could be due to riding too Smile

On the down side in some clothes I just look a bit on the chubby side Hmm

Shirehobbit · 20/06/2013 16:19

Massive hugs, MoN and everything crossed for some positive news tomorrow xx

Natalieand · 20/06/2013 16:30

So so so sorry to hear your sad news MoN hopefully it is the less serious of the two situations. Sending lots of virtual love xxxx

roofio87 · 20/06/2013 16:43

Smitten1981 · 20/06/2013 16:45

HotSoupDumpling · 20/06/2013 17:03

MON, fingers crossed for you. Well be thinking of you tomorrow.

OrangeBlossom2 · 20/06/2013 18:00

MoN, so sorry you didn't get the all clear today and that you are not able to fully relax and enjoy your pregnancy as we all hoped.

I don't know if it is at all helpful, but my very fit and healthy friend had a stroke in his 20s recently due to a previously unknown about hole in the heart that needed repairing after the stroke. He is now fully recovered. It is good in a way that they have found your baby's hoke now so they can fix it early.

We also asked my friend why they don't scan for it at the anomaly scan if it can cause such problems, and he was told by his dr that many babies have holes in their hearts in the womb that sort themselves out before birth or close on their own as babies.

When will you get the next update about the 22Q?

You and your family have been so strong so far, I have no doubt that you will be able to cope with this latest piece of news.

pinkbuttons · 20/06/2013 18:09

Im so sorry to hear everything didnt go to plan today MoN just wanted to pop on and send you more virtual hugs.

I will be keeping my fingers crossed for your resukts tomorrow and thinking of you and all of your family.
lots of love x

Haylebop12 · 20/06/2013 18:26

More hugs from the midlands MoN I really am hoping and praying for the best. You have had to deal with so much already. Did they say that's its what may have caused the excess fluid at your 12 weeks scan?

Will definitely be thinking of you tomorrow.

JethroTull · 20/06/2013 18:44

Thinking of you MoN & hoping for the best with tomorrow's results.

rubytwosday · 20/06/2013 18:57

I am so sorry you are having to go through this MoN. Praying for you and your baby girl.

JellyCurls · 20/06/2013 19:27

MoN my heart is truly breaking for you, hearing of problems during pregnancy is the worst thing in the world.

I have no advice to give you other than stay strong. Your little girl is a fighter and has proved the medical world wrong so far.. When you had amnio, did they not do a full chromosomal analysis?

Sending you the biggest hug that I can over the Internet and hope and pray you get good news tomorrow.

juniper9 · 20/06/2013 19:38

I've only read the first page, so apologies if someone has said this, but re teachers and maternity leave...

We get 39 weeks' paid, so if you start your leave by 7 weeks into the new term, then the paid period will end just before the summer holiday. Then you need to go back for a day or two, and you'll get the holiday pay too. So really 45 weeks' leave.

MotherOfNations · 20/06/2013 19:54

They wanted me to go to hospital tomorrow with Dp at 3.30 to discuss the results with the cardiologist but he can't get the time off work. They've let him take the morning off so he can take dd into nursery while I laze around feeling sorry for myself.
Jelly They said they don't routinely test for 22Q. I'm going to have a hard time keeping myself busy whilst waiting for the results.
My friend phoned me and revealed her little bit who's just turned one has a hole in his heart but they haven't told anyone. I don't know how much more complicated the small pulmonary artery makes things. I've been told the first operation will be performed at around 3 days old.

FeministInTraining · 20/06/2013 20:01

Big hugs MoN so sorry you are going through this. As has already been said, your little girl is already a fighter and I hope that the news tomorrow is that it's treatable and she can go on to live a healthy happy life. It's ridiculous that your DP can't get time off for this, is there anyone else that can go with you? Flowers

Shootingstarsandcomets · 20/06/2013 20:15

Oh mon, I am so sorry to hear your baby girl has a hole in her heart. Fingers crossed for you. We are here for you whatever the outcome.
clapham hee hee! Yes that's us by Christmas back in size 8 super sexy outfits and heels and generally wowing the world with our glam!
Baby bump got his/her first gift today. A lovely swaddle, I loved swaddling ds when he was a newborn he looked practically edible.

Natalieand · 20/06/2013 20:16

MoN am I wrong for thinking u would think they would screen your amnio sample for everything they possibly could have seen as your NT measurements were way above the scale. I tried googling about 22q but it all seemed a bit confusing what exactly does the syndrome entail?

OrangeBlossom2 · 20/06/2013 20:16

MoN I agree, awful that your DP isn't being given time off work for this. He cant be feeling much up to work either. I will be away over the weekend but will be thinking of you and keeping my fingers firmly crossed. Nice to know you have a RL friend you can talk to who has been in a similar situation. Your little bean is strong and a fighter, an operation will be horrible but she won't even remember it.

Natalieand · 20/06/2013 20:18

I second that shooting I always swaddled dd too. I keep debating whether to buy a swaddled blanket for bump or save my money until he is born to see if he actually likes being swaddled lol. Am I right in thinking generally babies do like it? Especially if u do it from the word go kind of thing

MotherOfNations · 20/06/2013 20:24

He's only been in his post a couple of weeks. He's a support worker for people with mental health issues and it involves a lot of home visits that nobody else can cover.
The hospital said if Dp can't come they will just speak to me over the phone tomorrow. I've got another scan on the 25th.

favellio · 20/06/2013 20:27

Thinking of you MoN ThanksThanksThanksEnvy

RE: peeing your pants.......yep, I had a coughing fit in Tesco fruit and veg section, wearing grey leggings and leaked!!! Needless to say i'll be wearing liners and black all the time now lol

MrsO27 · 20/06/2013 20:39
