Starting yet another thread as us chatterboxes have filled up 2 already!

Jucy, I'm so sorry to hear your news. Big hugs, wish there was something more I could say. Flowers

Frouby, if you're feeling crap just fuck the housework off, I do! It'll keep.

I'm scared and excited in equal measures about the scan on Friday. Looking forward to seeing bean and being able to get on with things. But obviously scared of getting bad news like Jucy... 2 days, 1 hour and 50 minutes to go!

My friend has offered to be a birthing partner too. I may well take her up on it, I suspect she'll be more help than OH. And as I'm planning on having a home water birth and OH has already invited his bloody mum (!) think it'll be good to have a friend there. I'm not private at all, have zero issues with people seeing me naked (as my neighbours will tell you) and she's seen me throw up enough times from our party days (though never shit myself to be fair) that I'm not too fussed about that.

OP posts:

Dasie · 10/06/2013 16:29

Futterby and mildred I share the same EDD too, lovely to have some birthing buddies on here!!

I've told everyone now that I'm pregnant, being 15 weeks now its actually pretty obvious!! I've put about 10 lbs on and really trying not to stress about it but failing miserably

Good luck all you scanners coming up, I'm counting down to my 20 week scan now which is 12 July Grin

MildredH · 10/06/2013 19:17

Dasie you're lucky to have your 20 wk date.. Mines not come through yet. Will be fab to be able to count down to the next milestone.. Mind you I don't want to wish it away and it's already going by far faster than the early weeks!!

clare8allthepies · 10/06/2013 19:30

Ha ha I know what you mean Dasie my 20 week scan is the 15th of July, 5 weeks today not counting or anything Grin

MildredH · 10/06/2013 19:45

Having a maternity shopping spree on ASOS..

K Middy has been seen in one of the dresses on there which is now reduced and I had been thinking of buying.. Going to buy now as bound to be sold out by tomo!

They seem to have nice bits.. Far nicer than I've seen in Gap or H&M maternity so far.. Hope the quality is ok. Previous purchases from there have gone back as turned out to be a bit too synthetic & shiny..

Fingers crossed.

Futterby · 10/06/2013 19:53

I don't know if it's just my hospital that does this but I don't actually get a letter for my scans, they just write it in my notes at my appointments. My next one is on the 17th of July, I'll be 20+3 :) totally can't wait to see if my gender prediction is correct! :D

13loki · 10/06/2013 20:01

Finished teaching for this school year. 3 more work days and I'm on summer holidays. Then about 1.5 weeks of inset and 10 weeks of lessons until I will go on maternity leave. 180 teaching hours. Not that I'm counting!

I bought quite a bit from zalando and it seems better quality than I expected.

LadyMedea · 10/06/2013 21:27

Saw my boss today after she's had two weeks out of the office. She is a nice person but has a tendency to not think before speaking (and has never had kids) so I got a 'you're so big, your going to be enormous'.

I have a small bump which looks like all the pictures for 14+4 weeks.... What is she going to be like when I actually get big....? I don't think I'd realise quite how inappropriate comments like that we're until I was pregnant.

MildredH · 10/06/2013 21:59

Everyone has an opinion don't they LadyM!

You've just prompted me to google pictures of "15 weeks pregnant" and it's reassured me I'm quite normal!

I'm sure if I could get on top of the flipin constipation my "bump" world reduce! Kiwi & apricots did not do the job so I'm investing in some nice OJ tomo!

LadyMedea · 10/06/2013 22:10

mildred have you tried benefiber? I think it's a miracle product! No taste in water and so easy to up your soluble fibre and get things moving.

MildredH · 10/06/2013 22:23

I haven't no.. I have got Psyllium husk capsules though which I think are along same lines?

To be honest, I'm just rubbish at remembering to do/take anything regularly.. I always wait til there's a problem and then try and resolve..

Maybe need to get in habit of taking one capsule with brek in the morning or something!

What a lurvely problem! Sad

musiceverywhere · 10/06/2013 22:31

Stressed in our house tonight. Neighbour has been contacted by Planning Office at the council with details of our planned extension and came round today to tell DH that they would be objecting to it :( Really didn't need this. It's going to hold things up massively and absolute worst case scenario is we won't be able to make this house what we need and we'll have to move... They reckon it will 'box them in' and 'block daylight'. (I don't want to speak to them as I'll end up blurting out 'you'll be in a nursing home in 5 years anyway' which is partly true!) Going away on friday, but now this is what we'll have to come back to. And can't get remortage done until plans approved which means credit card debt sits there for even longer.... :(
Stay in there little bean- real life too stressful!
Couldn't make it to work on time today, was exhausted. Hope everyone had a nice Monday- nice to have kids back at school?? :)

PistachioTruffle · 10/06/2013 22:51

Ah Music, that's rubbish! I'm sorry they are being obstructive, what are the chances they will be successful?

AuroraOrtiz · 11/06/2013 05:00

Hello everyone, am just catching up - moved house recently - from renting a furnished one bed flat to a house that needs a lot of work and has nothing in it so have been a bit stressed! It's now 4.50am and have been awake last two hours - have got my scan this afternoon (12 weeks, due date 21st Dec). Really scared as this is my first - last year I mc'd at 13 weeks - so freaking out it might have happened again - feel like crying!
Music - someone told me the planning rules have changed and 'obstruction of light' can't be used anymore to object planning, so maybe worth getting independent advice? Don't know for sure though.
Was hoping that, if scan all ok, can start telling people (haven't told a soul except dp) but am sure midwife said will take a week for results of the nuchal test thing to come through - is that right?

LadyMedea · 11/06/2013 07:45

aurora we had our results by letter after 9 days but after taking advice here and talking to th ultrasound technician we were told we be rung quickly if it was a high risk result, so after waiting nearly a week we decided we were in the clear and we were. It was still nice to see it I'm black and white though.

FluffyDucky · 11/06/2013 07:58

Aurora, the results take about a week you are right. We got a phone call due to our results, we had the scan on the Wednesday and the call the following Tuesday. Funnily enough the letter for the 2o week scan arrived first lol!

TakingTheStairs · 11/06/2013 09:58

Music just because they object doesn't actually mean your application will be rejected. It is annoying but at least they were decent enough to tell you to your face rather than being sly about it.

froubylou · 11/06/2013 11:27

Morning all

My first scan isn't while thursday. EDD is 24/12. Will be 12+3 when I go. Feel sick with nerves and excitement. DP can't make it (finishing a big contract off and as its morning would mean a full day off) so BF is coming instead.

Lady, my mum told me I was fat the other day lol. And my sister too. She sent me a txt message asking about something and when I confirmed it replied 'cheers fatty'. Nice lol.

Stopsmoking midwife coming later for round 2 lol. Poor woman will be dreading it. Hope shes done her research as I requested!

Should really be chucking hoover round living room and maybe even dusting but can't be bothered. Housework day is tomorrow so shes being inconvenient coming today.

Anyone else have really itchy boobs and especially nipples? Dear lord I'm driving myself mad scratching away at them. Look like I've been mauled. Keep smothering them in E45 and the other day even sudacreme (which DP thought was most amusing when I came out of the bathroom in a towel and dropped it to put PJ's on) but still they itch! And itch. And itch.

QueenofWhispers · 11/06/2013 11:51

You should tell them "what light?" there isn't any to begin with.

You guys I think I'm withering away on the inside, it was just too cold yesterday. Even my poor puppy wanted to wear a jacket to the park. Waaah.

FluffyDucky · 11/06/2013 12:08

Frouby, itchy tits here too lol! I've taken to using my bump lotion on them but I do get odd looks at work when I need to give them a good rub! Thank god for padded bras though, christ it looks like I'm permanently cold!

Roselau · 11/06/2013 13:08

dang I just posted in the wrong thread! nice to find this one... Here is what i posted on the other thread. looking forward to reading everyone's experiences.

I am 12 weeks today, due on December 24th. talk about timing.
I'm going for my scan in 3 days on Friday morning, and I'm so impatient. I lost all my symptoms at 9 weeks, and have been really anxious since then to know that everything is ok. I have no bump, fit in all my clothes no problem, barely any weight gain, and the little there is can be 100% attributed to my pigging out. I've been reading all of this stuff about missed miscarriage, and I know they are uncommon, especially since I got a scan at 7 weeks and saw a heartbeat, but still can't help but think about it. I've had very light pressure / cramps in the past couple of days but may just be imagining them or uterus finally deciding to grow?!
ARG bring on this scan - I can't focus on work or anything else at the moment!!

Alyssa1978 · 11/06/2013 13:21

Yep I had the itchy boobs too, stopped about a week before my dating scan, I put my palmers cocoa butter on them ever since my bflp just like with other 2 pgs and on the up side I still have no stretch marks Grin
Xx

Roselau · 11/06/2013 13:30

froubylou - same due date!!! good luck with your scan. you're lucky you get it a day earlier than me! I had itchy boobs for a while. it's gone now. It was awkward when I had to itch at work... but didn't last for too long so I just dealt with it...

Alyssa1978 · 11/06/2013 13:35

bfp I mean lol

roselau
My symptoms stopped before my scan at 12 weeks and I still worried even though I saw the heartbeat at 6+5 weeks, everything turned out fine, I still panic now as every symptom has stopped.
I'm never happy, complained about the morning sickness, now I want it back with the ore boobs that have also gone Hmm

PistachioTruffle · 11/06/2013 13:45

Roselau, I had very few symptoms originally, then none from around 8-9 weeks. I had my scan last week, and sure enough there is a very active baby in there Grin. I too was worried about missed miscarriage, but I came to the conclusion that worrying wouldn't help and just tried my best to relax. Interestingly, I spoke to my mum and she had barely any symptoms in any of her pregnancies either! Good luck for Friday.

I now have The Hunger. I made a huge bowl of tuna sweetcorn pasta, thinking that I could have some tomorrow for lunch too. I've just eaten the lot, and I'm STILL hungry. I can feel my tummy rumbling.

Oh, and yes to the itchy boobs too. I think they've grown again as well Hmm

Roselau · 11/06/2013 13:54

Thanks PistachioTruffle & Alyssa for the reassurance!
glad i'm not the only one with few symptoms. it would all be much easier if i 'felt' preggo.
But I feel for you on the hunger - my stomach feels empty every 3 hours, no matter what I eat. I cannot believe the amount of food I can ingest in a day, and still barely put on 1/2 pound since week 1.
