Jucy, I'm so sorry to hear your news. Big hugs, wish there was something more I could say.

Frouby, if you're feeling crap just fuck the housework off, I do! It'll keep.

I'm scared and excited in equal measures about the scan on Friday. Looking forward to seeing bean and being able to get on with things. But obviously scared of getting bad news like Jucy... 2 days, 1 hour and 50 minutes to go!

My friend has offered to be a birthing partner too. I may well take her up on it, I suspect she'll be more help than OH. And as I'm planning on having a home water birth and OH has already invited his bloody mum (!) think it'll be good to have a friend there. I'm not private at all, have zero issues with people seeing me naked (as my neighbours will tell you) and she's seen me throw up enough times from our party days (though never shit myself to be fair) that I'm not too fussed about that.

Couldn't agree more - I'm so much more relaxed knowing that I'm in good company both now and when the little one is born! As you said, I think having a bit of support makes all the difference.

Good luck with the move violet, and hope you enjoy your scan Claire. I am nervous about mine (next week) and really hope I can relax a bit more, hoping we'll be given the all clear...

Dasie - wow, never heard of anyone else who had same latching issues as us - and although I am very grateful to the nipple shields for making breast feeding possible, they were defo a bit of a pain. All the sterilising etc and the added palava when out and about... I am really hoping it goes more smoothly this time.

I know we've gone a bit BF mad in the thread today, and it really doesn't matter if you don't do it, but hopefully it's useful for newbies to see that it can be tough ( might not be, some people breeze through it) so it feels less of a shock if you have problems, you've got support in place, know where to go for help etc.

Loved reading all this BF advice... It's nice to hear real opinions on the subject rather than just the leaflets and midwives talks.

Got my scan on Wednesday and I'm so, so worried there's something wrong. Anyone else like this or just me?

20 week scan this afternoon and we are having a boy this time! Didn't mind either way but it will be nice to have one of each

Glad you enjoyed your holiday weechops :) where were you again?

futterby we were in Alcudia, Majorca. Lovely resort, fab hotel and happy kids - perfect holiday for us. And I even got a bit of a tan! Usually I'm chalk white but I'm slightly golden :)

futterby, yes I know exactly what you mean. Mine isn't until next week, but I'm really quite nervous about it, not helped by the fact that some friends got bad news at theirs a few years ago. I know the chances of something being wrong are very small, so im trying to relax as much as possible but i guess it must be natural to worry. I suppose it just shows that we understand the purpose of the scan, rather than thinking its just to show girl or boy! I'll hold your hand till its here though

I've got my scan on Thursday, refusing to even entertain the slightest idea that anything will be wrong, as worrying until Thursday won't make the slightest bit of difference! SO excited to find out if DS is getting a baby brother or sister, can't wait to start teaching him the relevant word!

I desperately hope we can afford movers next time we move, we moved into this house almost exactly 2 years ago when I was 24 weeks with DS, family and friends helped but it was still a total nightmare!

Back and hips are so painful today, and while writing that I've just realised I forgot to ring Physio and book an appointment today, will try tomorrow. I'm at the hospital in the morning anyway, finally got a first meeting with my consultant. DH is coming with me, I want him to feel as much a part of the planning of this birth as possible as I know he was pretty traumatised last time, though obviously to nothing like the extent I was!

Can someone please add me to the list? On iPad and it won't let me c&p!

Hi, after all that worry, everything was fine and DD is going to have a baby sister!

broke the news to her after we got home from nursery but I don't think she took it in replying 'no Mummy I'VE got a baby in MY tummy'

Good luck to everyone else with scans coming up, will paste myself onto the list when DP is off the laptop.

Congratulations goosey and clare on finding out the sex

I'm feeling extremely nervous about my scan which is 3 weeks away, as we've had the 20 week scan but all the checks couldn't be completed so I will be 23/24 weeks at next scan. It's very hard not to go into a blind panic but as my placenta was low at the 20 week scan and there's been talk of admitting me to hospital at 36 week if it doesn't move, I'm hoping the 23 week scan will show that the placenta has moved up.
