Starting yet another thread as us chatterboxes have filled up 2 already!

Jucy, I'm so sorry to hear your news. Big hugs, wish there was something more I could say. Flowers

Frouby, if you're feeling crap just fuck the housework off, I do! It'll keep.

I'm scared and excited in equal measures about the scan on Friday. Looking forward to seeing bean and being able to get on with things. But obviously scared of getting bad news like Jucy... 2 days, 1 hour and 50 minutes to go!

My friend has offered to be a birthing partner too. I may well take her up on it, I suspect she'll be more help than OH. And as I'm planning on having a home water birth and OH has already invited his bloody mum (!) think it'll be good to have a friend there. I'm not private at all, have zero issues with people seeing me naked (as my neighbours will tell you) and she's seen me throw up enough times from our party days (though never shit myself to be fair) that I'm not too fussed about that.

I like those odds Frouby! And you're totally right, there is no point spoiling this by worrying. So I'm making a deal with myself to stop fretting and enjoy this pg once I've had the scan tomorrow and seen bean jumping around again. It'll be my 2nd visit to the EPU, maybe my 2nd reassurance will be enough to tell my stupid brain that it's going to be ok. Maybe I'm just going to have wee bleeds that mean bugger all and I just need to take a chill pill!

I'm having a level 10 lush bath tonight, that'll chill me out Smile

I've been craving soft serve ice cream. Luckily here in Sweden it isn't on the list of things to avoid when pregnant, so I can eat as much as I like. Sadly brie is on the list, and there has been so much around (end of school year party, midsommar) and I'm not allowed to eat it stomps feet

mumoftwoboysS · 21/06/2013 14:19

anyone know which soft cheeses are out? Is it only the unpasteurised ones? and which ones are they? Brie, camembert?

off to France tomorrow so would be nice to have some. Boursin must be ok?? I'm intolerant to wheat so can't even eat the sodding baguettes!! France is not the place to enjoy food if you're pregnant or wheat intolerant- argh! (may have to cheat a little and indulge in a few croissants! worst case scenario I blow up like a balloon but hey, probably won't notice with my bump anyway!)

Futterby · 21/06/2013 15:20

mumoftwo try this :)

13loki · 21/06/2013 16:02

But baked brie or cambert are OK, as long as they are hot right through and still hot when you eat them. If it wasn't midsommar so the whole village is out on the green dancing round a maypole, I'd pop to the shop to buy some to bake, or deep fry.

Gannetgob · 21/06/2013 16:27

Oh no, I ate some Brie the other day. I didn't even consider not to. Ooops. DH had some in a restaurant and I tried it. Oh well, hopefully it's not the end of the world.

I'm craving seaside doughnuts. I think about them all the time but don't know where to get them from. My hubby bought me a doughnut the other day, because I keep going on about them. It was just a Greggs one and it didn't hit the spot which made me want some proper ones more!

I'm sorry lots of you are doing lots of stressing. I thought I would but at the moment I feel pretty relaxed about it all. Long may it last, I hope!

I have loads of discharge. This is beyond tmi, but sometimes it's consistency is really really thick. Also, I can't wait to do a normal poo again! I haven't had any constipation which is a blessing, but they have definitely changed for the worse!

Gannetgob · 21/06/2013 16:29

I pressed post too early - didn't want to finish on my weird poo. Sorry!

How is everyone's nausea now? Mine seems to be a lot better! Anyone got any new symptoms?

MrsShrubs · 21/06/2013 16:58

So glad the discharge isn't just me, I've never used so many pantyliners before!!

I'm just getting the occasional headache and dizzy spell - although I had to leave work Tuesday because the dizziness wasn't going away, must have been a low blood pressure or low iron day.

Can't wait to go maternity shopping this weekend, jeans & trousers are just digging into my bump (which just looks like I've got a proper pot belly at the moment!)

froubylou · 21/06/2013 16:59

I have weird poo too gannet lol. Its like an episode of watership down every time I go to the boggette lol.

I really really want a fillet of fish from McDonald's. I haven't had one for about ten years and am not normally a McDonald's fan. But nearest one is about 5 miles away but through really bad rush hour traffic and there's a horrible round about to do.

Hopefully dp will want to go when he gets in from work lol.

MrsShrubs · 21/06/2013 17:21

I've just seen this and think it's too cute not to share - if you have a daughter, god daughter, niece or just a little girl generally in your life and you enjoy making things this DIY dollshouse is just amazing and inexpensive (to be fair you could tailor it into a cool lair for boys toys too) : southerndisposition.blogspot.co.uk/2011/12/diy-three-ring-binder-barbie-dollhouse.html

Definitely saving this for if we have a little girl!

Gannetgob · 21/06/2013 18:14

That's really cute mrsshrubs! I would never have the patience/talent/creativity to make all the furniture though!

Frouby, you need your McDonald's. It's what the baby wants! You should consider LTB if he doesn't go!

I'm having an awkward moment and I meed outsider advice! Me and some of the people from work are all on a group text and they are all talking about some other girls party they have been invited to next week. I haven't been invited. They are trying to get me to go in on the present! I'd be more than happy to if I was invited, but I haven't been! They are saying I should because she's going through a rough time (she is, tomorrow was meant to be her wedding day but he called it off about 3 weeks ago) but at the same time, surely you don't send a birthday present to someone you just really say hello to when you haven't been invited to party!

Trivial, I know! (And completely off topic) sorry!

abcdemma · 21/06/2013 18:39

Hmmm, majorly awkward. Has she organised the party herself or has it been organised for her? Do the other ladies know you've not been invited? If she organised it herself and not invited you then maybe just sign a group card? If it's been organised by said ladies then drop hints that you've not been invited so yeah it'd be daft/unreasonable for you to pitch in for the present.
McDonald's sounds good though (come to think of it I've had like 3 steaks this week and I never eat steak!)

Tulipsandbuttercups · 21/06/2013 18:59

Hello, can I come and join your thread?

I had my dating scan today and I am due 27th December (the day before my birthday) instead of 3rd January which we originally thought. I'm 13 weeks today.

Such an amazing experience today in the scan

Lou x

PistachioTruffle · 21/06/2013 19:15

Phew, just catching up! I hadn't posted in a while, and the thread dropped off my "I'm on" list.

MrsShrubs, I'm getting dizzy spells too, just started in the last week. I've been so well so far, I thought I'd got away with it! Thankfully, although horrible they seem to be short in duration.

Gannet, I would go with Emma's suggestion, hint that you haven't been invited and perhaps just sign the card. Perhaps it's just an oversight, but it would be a bit off to expect you to contribute to a gift if you're the only one not invited!

Welcome Tulips!

I have a minor shopping dilemma. Mothercare have some of the items for the nursery range I want to get for a girl in the sale. I suspect this means that these items won't be available after the sale, and I don't know how long the sale goes on for or even how long they will be in stock. I could get them and return them if no good, but they only have a four week return period and we don't find out the sex of LittlePistachio (Or indeed if he/she is ok) until the anomaly scan in five weeks! I know it's a really pathetic issue, but it's winding me up and I can't decide whether to go ahead.

Gannetgob · 21/06/2013 19:34

I'm not sure pistachio, I don't think I would. Don't want to waste your money if its a boy! They will probably have even better stuff in soon!

It's the girl that's arranged it herself as far as I know! I don't mind that I have been invited, as I said, she's someone I will say hi to in passing but not much more! Now I have found out that someone saw an invitation for me on her desk, so we will have to wait and see I suppose. Glad you don't think I'm being a bitch though!

Welcome tulip! Glad your scan went well!

MrsShrubs · 21/06/2013 19:40

Pistachio Will they exchange without a receipt or do a credit note? If so you might just get away with it and could swap for something else or use the credit note towards something? Fingers crossed the dizzy spells don't last long

tulips welcome!! What a great Christmas / birthday present for you!!!

gannet majorly awkward, I'd say no to present but yes to card!

MildredH · 21/06/2013 19:47

Pistachio- if you really love it and can be faffed with the hassle buy and return and then re-buy to get more than the 4 weeks.. If you explain to checkout person I'm sure they'll let you..

2Labradors · 21/06/2013 20:17

pistachio another option could be to get a private sexing scan. By the sounds of it, different areas have different prices, but most are from 16 weeks. Maybe look into it and work out if the cost of a scan still means savings on the nursery range you like?

PistachioTruffle · 21/06/2013 20:31

Hehe, Thankyou for the replies to my obviously incredibly important dilemma Grin

The credit note is an idea, I know some shops will give you a credit note for items long after they will give a refund, and I'm sure I could find something in mothercare to spend it on! It shouldn't be too much hassle to return, there's a store nearby that I could pop into this weekend and ask though.

2Labs, I did look into a private sexing scan, but the nearest private clinic doesn't have an appointment until the week before the NHS anomaly scan, so it seems a bit pointless! Plus I think the cost would obliterate the savings on the nursery goodies Blush

Dear me, you'd think I had nothing else to think about!

inkymomma · 21/06/2013 20:36

Think I've been feeling figgy moving around recently. Lots of flutters inside :-) can't wait to feel proper kicks.
With regards to cravings I'm really liking savoury things really. Things with a bit of 'bite' like mint sauce or horseradish, gherkins, extra mature cheese, garlic, chilli etc.

Hope everyone else is fine

QueenofWhispers · 22/06/2013 07:40

Hi guys!

so my doctor has booked me in for my c-section but I'm having Olive in November; I think I need to move to the November thread but I really like this thread.

froubylou · 22/06/2013 07:48

Don't go then queen lol. Your edd is still December. Your c section day maybe earlier but that doesn't count.

Then when you have your bean you can keep us company in the middle of the night feeds when we start going into labour!

QueenofWhispers · 22/06/2013 07:55

:) I'll stay! I feel like I know you guys more.

whats for breakfast everyone?

Alyssa1978 · 22/06/2013 08:43

Well I've been up since 5am since ds1 who's 2 decided to come down stairs and throw milk all over my floor and put hand prints all over the glass doors, I swear if it had been strawberry milk it would have looked like a horror movie scene.

Fridge locks girls are a god send but unfortunately ours broke and i never replaced it Blush

Just had a choc cookie for breakfast queen OH brought it home after nightshirt bless him Grin

Alyssa1978 · 22/06/2013 08:44
