So sorry specific, hope you are doing ok and resting up. Xxx
farmers I am feeling a little better but not great. Really hope it's an upward trend though. If it continues will reduce anti-sickness meds over the next week or so and see what happens. It's great you had a good experience with your midwife, well done!
madrat sorry to hear about your job, FX for some exciting new opportunities.
It's nearly the weekend!
Xx

Toothfairy78 · 14/06/2013 18:28

Well, thank crunchy it's the weekend!

We got a homemade congrats card from dh friend. It has a picture of Sigourney Weaver in Alien. DH has suggested a movie marathon inspired by this.

I have reminded him he shall be seeing the event live in real time and that it will be like watching his favourite pub burn down. Cheeky git!

Yonionekanobe · 14/06/2013 18:40

So sorry specific x

Sultanajo · 14/06/2013 19:37

tooth thats hilarious! Grin

Thank crunchy indeed! Been battling nausea, trapped wind and heartburn since about 11am with mega food aversions! Lulled into hope that things were improving a few days back. Ah well! Could be worse, so apologies to those who are for the whinging pity party. Blush

DH told his mum this evening and we are telling the rest of his family on sunday at the party. Gonna leave it another week before telling work and then think about telling some friends - the awkward part, as a number arent having/havent had a good time with pregnancy....Sad

enormouse · 14/06/2013 19:45

toothfairy that's so funny. What is with men and the alien/birth comparison? My DP keeps describing birth as the John hurt moment.

I blame this

How far along are you sultanajo? Hope you feel better soon. Not feeling great myself. Managed to buck up my act tonight and make tacos. Had gotten a bit fed up of DPs limited yet enthusiastic repertoire.

enormouse · 14/06/2013 19:48

God I am so crap at posting links, bring back old fashioned youtube. I recommend Steven Moffats coupling, esp the last series.

enormouse · 14/06/2013 19:50

Hope this works!

Mac2014 · 14/06/2013 19:58

I had my booking appointment today, which was fine. It was with the community midwife team at my doctors, only problem was that they couldn't do my bloods because the hospital I'm nearest to needs to do them and they couldn't confirm the scan date as the hospital will do that too. They also didn't have any of the notes from my two scans at the EPU, so couldn't talk through where the fibroids are positioned etc.

It felt a bit pointless and like I could have done it all online?!

I now have the massive folder i need to carry around... Going to be obvious on my commute into London!

I treated myself to a drive thru McDonald's on the way back. Dirty I know Blush

Hope you're all looking forward to the weekend. Xx

Sultanajo · 14/06/2013 20:32

enormouse am 11+5. Eating isnt having the usual effect of pushing away the nausea - hope its only today and things improve tomorrow. Would be just typical getting worse around the time things are meant to improve!Confused

mac what a disappointment! It sucks when you have been looking forward to something and then come away thinking "what was the point in that?" Hmm

Toothfairy78 · 14/06/2013 20:35

mouse I forgot how good that show was!

Frogcatcher · 14/06/2013 20:37

So sorry to hear your news Specific. Look after yourself. Flowers

madrat I have just lost my job too but luckily I've been there 7 yrs so am getting a decent pay off. They didn't know about the pregnancy but I went back & told them & got more money. I've actually v calm about it all which must be the hormones as I wouldn't be normally. It's not going to be easy to get another one though so you have my sympathy.

Anyone got any recommendations for a maternity swimming costume? I wore my usual speedo one yesterday but with bigger boobs & a bit of bloating it really wasn't comfortable. I thought a tankini might be a good in-between option as could allow for tummy expansion? Really want to swim as much as I can.

sarahleanne · 14/06/2013 20:54

So sorry specific , so awful, keep your chin up.

I received a letter in the post, dating scan is Tuesday next week in the morning. Very nervous.

Naturegirl82 · 14/06/2013 21:52

sarahleanne I've got my scan Monday afternoon. I'm really worried too. I had a dream the other night I had my scan and the mw wouldn't tell me if there was a hb, or tell me EDD. Woke up in a right panic! Sad

Naturegirl82 · 14/06/2013 21:54

enormouse your talk of bargain buckets early has resulted in me sending dh out to get one this evening Smile

Penny31 · 14/06/2013 22:00

My scan s Tuesday morning! There are quite a few of us! How exciting :) I feel totally normal today, just bloated and now I'm worried! I would use my Doppler for reassurance but I read somewhere that dopplers are loud to the baby and now I'm worried I've damaged it hearing! So Ive stopped using it. Slap me please?

Naturegirl82 · 14/06/2013 22:06

penny that's how I feel. I've had no morning sickness, just tiredness and amazing smelling powers. It's making me wonder if I've made the whole thing up! Dh thinks I'm going mad!

bettyboo83 · 14/06/2013 22:20

So sorry specific Sad

frog I got a lovely maternity tankini from figleaves.com last time and it worked throughout my pregnancy as it was really ruched. It was pretty too; most maternity swimsuits are plain black.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend...I have two 13-hour shifts! Boo!

farmersdaughter · 14/06/2013 22:45

I wonder if DH thinks just because I've already carried a baby full term it's easier the 2nd round.

DH: What's wrong with you tonight?
ME: I'm really tried and feeling sick,
DH: Seriously why are you so tried?
ME: Something about being 8 wks pregnant {note the sarcasm}
DH: But why are you so tried...I don't understand.

I give up, I really do!

Yonionekanobe · 14/06/2013 23:23

farmers I know what you mean. The fact that this pregnancy is 10x harder than my pregnancy with DD has past DH by.

I've also got my scan on Tuesday!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 15/06/2013 07:07

Specific I'm so so sorry to hear your sad news. Look after yourself lovely. Hope to see you back here soon.

Conference going okay, but I am done in. Really really want to call in sick today, but I can't. I need some reserve of strength to kick in about now - a whole day of 100s of people, all of whom are a bit weird and needy and loner-ish, all asking me questions/desperately trying to engage in small talk. I'm planning to hide in the ladies for one of the coffee breaks. Wish me luck, ladies.

LittlePeaPod · 15/06/2013 07:14

Specific I just read your update. Am so sorry for your lose. It's so devastating. My thoughts and best wishes to you and your DF Flowers Sad

penny I read they have no hearing until 14 weeks so I wouldn't worry. At epu they just mentioned the heat that they generate (something about higher frequency than us I think?!)

farmers I bought my dh a book called pregnancy for men and it seems to have helped, it explains how we are feeling and why etc. although he is now looking forward to the randy second trimester!!

LittlePeaPod · 15/06/2013 07:50

MrsAVB so pleased for yo that you didn't vom... It's such a positive sign things are Merovingian for you... I promise no early threads which creat dual conversations again Grin

Extra how are you? Did you manage to speak to MW about your scan? MrsAVB is right about alternative options.

Farmers thank you. Have managed to eat a little and put 1lb on last week so only 6lbs more to get back to pre-pregnancy weight. So glad to hear your MW pop ointment went well and your MW sounds fantastic. Hopefully you can relax a bit now and not worrying about the birth. Also great news you don't feel sick anymore. Checked stats and. Am still here.

Penny & Mac how are you? I hope you are both doing well.. Flowers

Mad really pleased bout your scan news but so sorry o hear about your job. Sounds a bit out of the blue. What's their reasons for it?

Sultanajo sorry to hear he sickness / aversion is back... That's so not fair Sad.

As for me. I went to our family annual York Race at yesterday. Had to sit at a table with everyone eating everything from prawns, beef, honey ham, fish you name it. Massive luxury buffet. Lots of wine and bubbly etc. Historically I have loved it but it was my version of hell on earth yesterday. I tried really hard to look positive and happy to be there. [Sad] DF thought I pulled it off really well. Long day too. Left home at 11am and our friends left our house at about 10pm so I could go to bed. Felt so ill by the time I went to bed I couldn't even take my Pre-natal vitamins. Please excuse the pity party... Flowers and a Biscuit for myself..... Wink

Anyway, I have my 10+4 scan at 10 this morning. Going through my usual scared, worried feelings. The ones I have every time I ave a scan. Hoping chickpea has continued to developed like she/he did at the other scans. Also can't wait to get the 12 week scan and NT/Chromosome tests out the way at 13+4.

Found out about this yesterday and thought you may all be interested. I am signing up as you get your own personal MW and they see you more often and whenever you want. Also all appointments are home based up until 7/8pm. It's a new trail been done by the NFS
