lovelilies · 10/06/2013 10:09

My EDD is 17,th Jan. there is a stats thread somewhere... my dd is 8 tomorrow so forgotten everything!!

alteredimages · 10/06/2013 10:10

Thinking of you bunt, but like everyone else says things are probably just fine and we're usually told not to worry about brown blood. Easier said than done.

Tommy's is definitely worth giving a call.

farmersdaughter · 10/06/2013 10:12

Love I'm the 24th Jan. However with DD they changed my EDD twice Hmm So I won't be surprised if I find my due date being early Feb.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 10/06/2013 10:44

Also thinking of you bunt although it sounds fine - plenty of others here have had the same and no problems come scans. I know that's easy to write and not so easy to accept, but hope it might help a little?

nature I've been tossing up whether to tell my boss too - this week is going to be hellish. I have an event tonight, a three day conference to run and a Saturday event (all day, hard work) - I'm not sure I'm going to make it as far as SUnday, esp as I feel worse than usual (now 9+3, so hoping the 10 week easing of MS is true). I really really don't want to have to tell him though.

love even reading that made me gag - you poor thing. Ewww.

Nine days until booking in. I can make it. I can.

curlywurlyllass · 10/06/2013 11:53

Smiling after my rescan :D was measured as 8w5d this morning so a huge relief after being dated earlier at last scan.
Saw heartbeat fluttering away again and even saw LO doing jumps!
Still not got an EDD yet, really cant remember LMP so im open to suggestions from you knowledgeable ladies!
I forgot to ask about my sore back, will google that pelvis thingy later

Toby and frizz was so pleased to read about your positive scans

Good luck to everyone else having scans today and tomorrow, at work and can't scroll back well

those with spotting try and keep the faith, thinking of u

xx

Sultanajo · 10/06/2013 12:14

Hey ladies,

Just a quickie - will go through more detailed later.

Bunt deep breaths. As the others have said, hopefully nothing to worry about, but I would definitely get some advice from the Tommy's line at the very least so they can put your mind at rest.

Curly that's awesome. With regards to EDD - if you are 8 + 5 that would take you back to 10th April (as an approximate LMP), which would give you an EDD of 15th January, based on a 28 day cycle according to the NHS calculator? Now, taking baby brain and my lack of maths skills, that could be totally wrong, so other ladies please confirm this.....Grin

Naturegirl82 · 10/06/2013 12:24

Thinking of you Bunt.

Thanks for the support. Telling work went a lot better than I was fearing. Manager and Director were both very pleased for me and dh. Think they were mostly relieved I wasn't handing in my notice! We have excuses all planned for the team building day as well. Relieved! Smile

Can start looking forward to my scan now- 7 days and counting.
It's a tricky one Humpty. I wouldn't have told them this early if I had a choice but I do feel a weight off my shoulders now I have done it.

MrsVDB · 10/06/2013 13:28

Ok I've lost my normal symptoms but sniffer dog smell is super strong! I could tell you what you ate last week!!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 10/06/2013 13:36

nature I'm so pleased for you. How lovely that they are pleased for you, isn't that just the right reaction? Smile

mrsV I, too, have the nose of a bloodhound...

curly yay for that! I concur with sultana's maths, you are EDD five days later than me - 15th Jan.

Naturegirl82 · 10/06/2013 13:42

I have super sensitive smell too. The smell of the washing powder and softener is so bad it makes me gag so Dh has had to take over that chore!

LittlePeaPod · 10/06/2013 13:45

To all the new ladies that recently joined us on thread 4. Please see link to stats thread incase you want to add your details to it

OMG Humpty! Are you telling me my new pregnancy super power is Maths??? Woop woop! Wink

I too feel like a sniffer dog! DH bought some garlic and coriander poppadoms yesterday and complained because they didn't taste of anything. He asked me to try one - cue gagging/wretching at the overwhelming taste of garlic! Either he has totally lost his sense of taste, or preggo jo here can now taste EVERYTHING!!! Blerghhhh!

Have had to change toothpaste too - the blue minty gel is the only one I can manage right now and let's not even start on my deoderant!!!Confused

Sultanajo · 10/06/2013 14:41

By the way, I booked my harmony testing for Thursday this week when I should in theory be 11+6. They are going to do a detailed nuchal scan and bloods first and I will get the results of those there and then so I can then decide whether to go ahead with the Harmony or not. Soooo many decisions!

I spoke to the doctor this morning whose practice it is and she is just lovely. She fully explained everything to me and couldn't have been nicer (almost made me cry she was that nice - am bound to be a bawling wreck on thursday with someone so understanding!). Confused She sounded as though she really knew her stuff and said the scan would be really detailed, including checking for the nasal bone etc. and she said she would hopefully be able to provide me with lots of reassurance, but if there were obvious issues she would also be able to explain them to me and give me all my options. OMG - it's feeling very real now - this feels like the most important appointment I will ever have (until we get to the 20 week scan of course when the worry and anticipation will start all over again....)!

It's weird, when I have a few weeks to wait, although time drags I seem to be able to cope a bit better, but when it's only a few days to wait, it seems to take just FOREVER to get here and it's all I can think about!!! Blush

Frizz1986 · 10/06/2013 15:28

Am v jealous of people coming up to their 12 week scans. I have 3 weeks to go and it is going to drag so much.

bunt I had some brown discharge and cramping last week (cue almighty freak out, but lovely calming words from this awesome group of people) Anyway my mw told me to keep an eye on it and if it continued to go to gp (i have to be referred to epu) Well the discharge stopped and the cramping calmed but due to said freak out I booked a private scan for yesterday and all went well. Woman couldn't see any bleeds in there either and said eeverything is currently looking normal.

It is def easier said than done but try not to panic and over think (like I can bloody talk!)

extracrunchy · 10/06/2013 15:39

I am 11+2 and STILL haven't had a letter through with a scan appointment!! Sooo unfaaaaiiirrr... Hmm

Sultanajo · 10/06/2013 15:47

Sorry Frizz Didn't mean to rub it in!!!

Extra - can you not phone up and see what's what? That's just torture!!!!

Frizz1986 · 10/06/2013 15:48

Oh extra that's no fun. I had to call to get mine. You only get given the phone number and details at ur booking app but I had to call the hospital direct and arrange the scan myself.
Think it saves them getting lots of rearrangements because people can't make the date/time in their letter so if we just call ourselves u can confirm all the details there and then.

Naturegirl82 · 10/06/2013 16:00

extra that's rubbish.

My 12 week scan is Monday when I'll be 11+6 according to lmp. I think I'll be pushed back to around 9 weeks though. Do you think they will offer another scan at 12 weeks to do all the tests? Getting myself a little worried in case they don't.

curlywurlyllass · 10/06/2013 16:09

Cheers sultana and humpty, i know my LMP was earlier than 10th april, but i can b 3 weeks before ovulation day so it makes sense now.

If anyone can add me to the stats thread i would appreciate it, mobile wont let me copy n paste :(
dc1 edd 15/1/14

Another supernose over here!!
any smoke makes me heave, toothpaste i just bought is awful and i can smell a midgie/gnat fart a mile away!!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 10/06/2013 16:22

extra totally rubbish - why? FFS.

nature I'm pretty sure they will scan again, yes - I think that's why they scan towards the beginning of the 'test window' IYSWIM.

New person started at work today - am struggling to be nice: she has been brought in at a much higher salary (despite our flat hierarchy Hmm) and when I asked to be regraded (before she was appointed), I was told 'we would, but there's no money'. Also, I am covering 150% of a role, she is just doing 1 role. I know it's not her fault, but I am still finding it hard to smile. Someone tell me to play nicely.

Mythreeknights · 10/06/2013 16:28

Whoppee Frizz that's great.
I'm 8 weeks today and have been feeling RUBBISH. Sick as a dog most afternoons (although not 'sick' per se), absolutely starving, exhausted a fair bit of the time and v short patience. As this is so different to DS1 and 2 pgs I've started to wonder if it's twins in there...anyone else sharing my paranoia?? Anyone out there with experience of twins?

Mythreeknights · 10/06/2013 16:30

Humpty you are right to feel totally put out, but play nicely for now and rewards will surely come your way. Think of the bouncing bundle of joy you'll have in your arms in 7 months time. That's the bigger picture - and poor thing, she's probably terrified of you Grin

Sultanajo · 10/06/2013 17:14

Humpty - well that's really fecking shite! Am not surprised you are feeling supremely pissed off! However, try not to take it out on the new girl - not her fault and she is probably shitting it as it is being new. Play nice!!! Grin

Mythree no experience of twins myself, but I know someone who had identicals and they were really rough with them. However, I also know people worse than her with singletons and others who have had several singletons with different experiences each time, so although there will be paranoia, it's not a forgone conclusion....ekkkkk!

TobyLerone · 10/06/2013 17:22

Oooh, Humpty. I'm not sure I'd be able to play nicely with that information. How annoying!

Frizz, my 12 week scan was originally next week, but I asked them to put it back a week because I would only have been about 11+3 when they did it and I wanted to make sure it was accurate. I think I'll be 12+4 when they do it.

extra, can you 'phone someone to find out what's going on?

I have read everything but I can't remember. I'm knackered and fighting hayfever as I've spent the last hour and a half standing in a windy field watching DD in a rugby tournament. I also feel soooo sick.
Glad Monday's over, though. It's definitely my most hated day of the week, and the busiest. DH is apparently going to be late tonight, which is annoying, because I want my dinner! We're having dirty rice (with rubbish prawns instead of delicious chicken livers :( ) and homemade trifle.

I'm going to finally tell my immediate family on Thursday, as my ex-stepdad is visiting from overseas (my family is very disfunctional!) and we're having a big family dinner. I didn't want to have to tell yet, but I'd rather tell them all in person and we're not all together that often. One of my sisters is a giant gobshite and I'll make it very clear that I will be furious if anyone else gets to know about it. We're not telling anyone else until after the 12-week tests.

No idea how to tell them, though. I'm not really one for big announcements. I'll probably just say "guess what?" and someone will guess!

MrsGSR · 10/06/2013 17:24

mythree apparently you're more likely to get morning sickness with girls, but there are people on here who have had it the other way so I don't think it's a rule! They thought I was having twins at first as hcg levels were so high, they've done a scan and it only looks like one, but I did measure a bit small which doesn't make sense considering high hcg so there is still a chance there is another one hiding in there! I'm also really bloated at the moment and look about 4 months pregnant...
