YY I saw an article recently about wearing corsets.

Frizz1986 · 08/06/2013 20:13

I loved shopping for my wedding dress. I am not really a girly girl and was adamant that i wasn't going to have any lace and it was going to be very simple.

I of course ended up with exactly what I said I didn't want and had a completely lace based dress and a massive train!

You just have to try everything on and you'll find something that u love!

I myself will be staying clear of pilates. I can't do the whole inner core thing. Am hoping to go to aqua aerobics when i am further along. They have a class just down the road from my work but it's during work hours so would have to have an extended lunch (don't think my boss will let me tho). I think u can have time off for it but only if it is prescribed by ur midwife and as they currently consider me low risk I don't think that's gonna happen.

Am starting to get mega nervous about my scan tomorrow. Have a real gut feeling that I can't place that it is all over.

TobyLerone · 08/06/2013 20:21

What time is your scan, Frizz? Have you had one already? How far along are you expecting to be? Sorry, I can never remember where everyone's at!

Frizz1986 · 08/06/2013 20:32

toby scan is at 2pm and it's my first ever scan so guess that's half the nerves. Not knowing what to expect and with having some cramps this week.....

Am 9+1 today according to midwife but I was ovulation tracking and think I am more like 8+5 today so hoping that I measure around those dates. Guess I am hoping for the best but preparing for the worst sort of thing.

I really didn't think being pg would be so scary. I wish people told u how terrifying it is to start with or maybe I was just rather naive thinking the first 12 weeks would fly by with just ms and sore boobs!

TobyLerone · 08/06/2013 20:47

Good luck. Will be thinking of you.

LittlePeaPod · 08/06/2013 20:56

Thanks ladies.... You are right, I just need to keep looking.

Frizz good luck for your scan tomorrow...

Pee'ing myself laughing. Don't normally watch Britans Got Talent but we have it on tonight and some girl sneaked on stage and started throwing eggs at Simon Cowell....

frizz fx for a good scan for you tomorrow. I know what you mean about scary - today i didn't feel sick (much) and had v slight sort of 'poking'/stretching feelings in my lower belly, which I mistook for cramps. I am trying to stay sane, as I know it won't help to worry, but hey, it's harder than it looks (as the bishop said to the actress)...

Just managed about 2/3 of an adult sized portion of dinner too - most I've eaten in the evening in weeks! Which in itself worries me too

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 08/06/2013 21:03

pod apart from the coat one, there's not a single dress on there I don't love!

this is my favourite though

LittlePeaPod · 08/06/2013 21:10

Humpty its is worrying but it's also a brilliant achievement that you ate something tonight... I keep getting the stretchy feelings.... That's my favourite dress on there too. I thought I could even bling it up a little with a different sach if I wanted....

You could go pink or blue sash Pod. So chickpea is represented if you are going to find out!

Yonionekanobe · 08/06/2013 21:21

Oh and gorgeous dresss!

LittlePeaPod · 08/06/2013 21:23

Yoni I love that idea and we are finding out......

Ekkk frizz will be thinking of you tomorrow! I too wish someone had warned me how much I would shit myself the whole time! Really hope your worries are unfounded...Smile

Sultanajo · 08/06/2013 21:36

frizz my wedding dress ended up being the exact opposite to what I thought I wanted to. I went in and said I didnt want anything strapless or silky or heavy and I came away with a strapless silky semi blinged up heavy dress! I too am not girly, but couldnt believe the transformation in this dress! The first dress DH had ever seen me in too!!! You know it when u find the one and it feels amazing! Gutted will never wear mine again (not that I could fit into it now as I lost a ton of weight for the wedding and now...well....lets not go there.....Blush )

Frizz1986 · 08/06/2013 21:47

sultana i doubt i will ever wear mine again either and it was only 9 weeks ago!
I had become rather slender before my wedding and thankfully can use it as an excuse for eating randomly now. If anyone comments on what I am eating I always say that I get to eat what I want now I dont have a dress to fit into! (Am hoping it will push people off the scent but am pretty sure most of the girls in my office have twigged)

I think my dress will forever stay in the bag in the cupboard in the spare room, but the memories of wearing it will last an eternity. I have never felt like so much of a princess in all my life lol.

Sultanajo · 08/06/2013 21:49

Me too frizz. Yeah thats a great excuse for eating random stuff! Grin

Sultanajo · 08/06/2013 21:51

4athome well if celebs are doing it then bring it on!!! Wink

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 08/06/2013 22:00

frizz I threatened to wear mine around the house after our wedding, that's how much I loved it. It's still at my Mum's, in its bag, filthy (train came unbustled halfway through reception and dragged on the floor a LOT) and desperately in need of dry cleaning. So sentimental, me Grin

Sultanajo · 08/06/2013 22:04

humpty mine also badly needs dry cleaning - the train kept coming unhooked and we were taken on a muddy golf course for pics! Keep thinking I will take it but havent got the cash to do it right now....

Sultanajo · 08/06/2013 22:36

pod just seen the simon cowell egg moment....hashtag random!!!! Hmm

MrsGSR · 08/06/2013 23:32

I got the opposite dress to what I wanted to! wanted a simple floaty halterneck dress, ended up with a lace, tight, strapless mermaid dress! It's definitely a good idea to try them on first :)

Good luck for the scan tomorrow frizz! I can't remember who else is having one (I may have just made up that there were to) but good luck to all having scans soon :)

TobyLerone · 08/06/2013 23:35

My wedding dress is in a ball on top of the wardrobe. The train was muddy before I even got inside -- it was January and raining. By the time the photos were done, it looked like the dog had slept on it. Then the bustle thing broke, so a couple of my friends spent a long time under my dress with safety pins and string, trying to tie it up! We had a ceilidh band and I was so sick of falling over it/having it trodden on that I'd threatened to take scissors to it by that point.
By the time we'd walked back to where we were staying (I had wellies and leggings on under it and a coat on over it by this point), it looks like something you'd use to clean the car!

I swore I'd have it cleaned the week after the wedding, but it's still filthy on top of the wardrobe Blush

TobyLerone · 08/06/2013 23:37

I've got a scan tomorrow too, MrsG, so you're not going mad :o

How are you feeling now? Also farmers -- hope you're feeling much better too.

MrsGSR · 08/06/2013 23:58

Ahh, good luck toby! you'll be pleased to hear in much more sane today (yes I've taken my temp a few times, but only so the thermometer wasn't a waste of money)

my mum found a great place that clean your wedding dress and then return it to you in a box that has a window bit so the bodice is on display. She had it done as our wedding present :) I like being able to look at it without having to get it out!
