Thread three... Rock and Roll......

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 18:11

Glad u have got more symptoms frog! Smile I dont mind the Liverpool strip either really.

I too hate slogans - really make me cringe, but I love character stuff for bedding/pjs. The Gruffalo bath robe sounds so cute! I remember my favourite pjs as a child were character ones. I love all the winnie the pooh stuff - they do some really subtle classy bits and bobs in pale browns and creams, which isnt in your face and also goes with out colour scheme. The Gruffalo stuff is cool too - a friend of mine painted her daughters room with Gruffalo characters and she loves it. Its really cosy and welcoming - she really looks forward to going to bed, which I think is excellent!

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 18:18

tooth I dont know, but salty stuff is going down well here too and I normally cant stand anything too salty! However, I bit my cheek earlier (and I mean took a proper wedge out of it) which is now stinging big time each time I eat something salty! Am torn between the need for salt and the pain! Wink

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 18:19

Glad they gave u drugs mrsavb Grin

TobyLerone · 30/05/2013 18:21

I have eaten an entire box of Ritz crackers today Blush

enormouse · 30/05/2013 18:23

toothfairy my mum would say it's because we're all going to have boys!

sultanajo I'll try and take a photo of my DS post bath in his gruffalo growie and his gruffalo robe.
What about compromising with something salty but creamy like mozzarella cheese or crisps with a creamy dip or sour cream? It might take the edge off the stinging. I loved those meltable snap pots of cheddar with salt and vinegar crisps.

TarkaTheOtter · 30/05/2013 19:12

MrsAVB I took cyclizine (and something else which I can't remember the name of) when pregnant with dd. I remember feeling worried but my GP explained that the reason why most drugs are not officially approved for use during pregnancy is that the tests required are very expensive (few people willing to take part) and there is not enough profit in it for the drug companies. These drugs (and others) are widely used by pregnant women with no recorded problems. That made me feel much better about it and they did help a lot.

fryingpantoface · 30/05/2013 19:15

Just jumping on to quickly say

I love the Gruffalo. I'm such a fan! We have the hoody (furry one and regular one), book ends etc. I'm gonna get the robe now!

SlinkyB · 30/05/2013 20:18

Hello all! Just to say I am still here, nodding and smiling away with you all, just too lazy tired to post every day. Am struggling to keep up, so will keep on lurking for a little while.

Called GP yesterday, and earliest appt with Dr was 12th June. Hoping to see midwife shortly after, as will be 8wks by then.

Am also mainlining salty stuff; it's the only time I don't feel sick Hmm But I always crave salty crisps and lemonade when hungover, so don't think it has anything to do with the sex of the baby?!

chocoloulou33 · 30/05/2013 20:19

Hello all :) sorry again for not being on here much & being able to catch up with u all. Am still struggling with the sickness. Yesterday was a bit better but 2day is NOT :/

Got my scan 2moro & I can't believe how nervous I am. With my history I've rly not experienced many scans that have been good. Its at 10.30. Oh coming with me. He's v relaxed & positive. Wish I could be too, am just sooo scared. Wish me luck guys. Will let you know 2moro x

extracrunchy · 30/05/2013 20:22

DS has a Gruffalo dressing gown Grin

I really want a Pot Noodle. And chip shop chips with loads of salt and vinegar.

Mrs, glad you've got a solution for the MS. You really should take them!

extracrunchy · 30/05/2013 20:22

Oh Choco just seen your post. Fingers firmly crossed for you xx

MrsVDB · 30/05/2013 20:28

Good luck choco, I'm sure it will be fine and not long to wait now!

MrsGSR · 30/05/2013 20:36

Good luck choco! fx everything is fine. My scans not til 2.40 (or 4.20, will have to look that up)

ouch sultanajo! biting you're cheek is painful at the best of times!

I quite like me to you bears, possibly because they are grey! I love Winnie the pooh as well, and Beatrix potter!

MrsGSR · 30/05/2013 20:37

2.10 apparently, Good job I wrote it down!

Bikey86 · 30/05/2013 20:39

Good luck with the scan choco.

So funny listening to everyone's cravings and food aversions. not had much of this myself yet...only a bit of nausea. Got my first appointment with the midwife tomorrow and then we are off camping for the weekend...weather is supposed to be nice so looking forward to the break :-) xx

chocoloulou33 · 30/05/2013 20:42

Good luck with your scan too mrsg x

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 20:42

Grrr, stupid internet is buggering around! Some great suggestions enormouse! Toby I ate a whole packet of cheddars yesterday & a whole bag of prawn crackers today!!!

Vatta · 30/05/2013 20:43

Got my booking in and scan appointments now, very excited! Seeing midwife next week. Sorry slightly pointless post but DH is away and we're not telling others yet so just wanted to share the news!
Not sure what to expect at the booking in, I guess lots of forms?

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 20:44

Meant to say enormouse would love to see a pic!!!

Good luck to everyone for their scans tomorrow! chocco so sorry u r feeling so rough still! Hopefully your scan tomorrow will make it all worth it!

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 20:48

Lol mrsgsr that cracked me up having to look up the time of the scan! Love Beatrix Potter too! Am determined to include some of my childhood in my childrens childhoods. Bring on Winnie, Snoopy, Peter Rabbit and Brambly Hedge! However, am looking forward to some new stuff too, the gruffalo in particular as everyone seems to love it!

Pidgy · 30/05/2013 20:55

Found you all!
Haven't had much time to stay up to date with the thread so think I'll stay lurking. Posted a bit in a previous thread.

Hope the sickness gets better for those suffering. Eating is the only thing that is curbing mine. Anything with marmite will do!!

Just a quick qs. Are people paying for their early scans or can you request one?
I have no idea on dates so this would be very useless! I'm due in early Jan I think but doctor calculated it as 21st dec by last period. I know this isn't possible as dh was away with work but there was no convincing him and he put it down on my form for the hospital.

Yonionekanobe · 30/05/2013 20:56

I was a salt fiend in my first pregnancy and had a girl!

Love Gruffalo too. Our local cinema shows a short film for toddlers on a Saturday morning and we have recently seen Gruffalo and The Gruffalo's Child on the big screen.

Good luck for scans ladies!

Frogcatcher · 30/05/2013 20:57

Brambly Hedge! Flashback Sultana! Can you still get it? Mind you I think my mum kept a load of my childhood classics in the loft for when she had grandchildren - it's been a bit longer than she thought!

chocoloulou33 · 30/05/2013 20:59

hi pidgy my scans are'nt private, I'm getting them due to past problems x

Mac2014 · 30/05/2013 21:05

pidgy I had an early scan as they thought I was ectopic... All sorts of pains and fainting.

I am the tiredest I've ever been today. DH knobhead came home pissed last night and woke me up on the hour until I kicked him out at 4.30 into the spare room. Also seems to think we'll be skiing over new year - I'm due on the 7th jan??!

frog you can still get bramble hedge - got my niece loads of bits for her last birthday.

Hope all you lovely ladies are as well as can be. I'm mainlining salt and vinegar crisps... With anything, seems to keep any form of food intact!
