Thread three... Rock and Roll......

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 09:50

frog my symptoms went for a day and although it was a relief to feel better, it put me into a tailspin of panic, so I totally get where u r coming from. However, everyone is different, symptoms can fluctuate and I know several people who had hardly any symptoms and everything was ansolutely fine - see, I can think rationally!!! Wink

enormouse · 30/05/2013 10:17

I have no symptoms atm, which is a relief but also terrifying as I seem to spend a lot of time filling myself with liquids so I can poas. 12 week scan seems a horribly long wait.

sultanajo the forgetfulness is driving me crazy, went to the doctors and found it was closed. I thought it was Tuesday and misread the surgery times.

I am so miserable today. Had to call out an engineer for my washing machine which has made me so cash poor I've had to cancel my driving lesson. I burst into tears at the prospect of managing two small kids on a bus and my toddler climbed into my lap and gave me cuddle whilst saying 'aaw mummy aaaw'. Which made it worse.

When do the mood swings from hell end??

TobyLerone · 30/05/2013 10:23

Hope you make it through the lunch, Sultana :)

Frog, you can take DP with you if you want, but there's no need. The things you'll need to know (from the forms in my notes) are:
His age
Whether he's related to you :o
His ethnic origin
and then there are some tick boxes re him asking if anyone in his family (children, parents, GPs, blood siblings, aunts/uncles, cousins) has had:
~ a disease that runs in families
~ need for genetic counselling
~ stillbirths or multiple MCs
~ a sudden infant death
~ learning difficulties
~ hearing loss from childhood
~ heart problems from birth
~ abnormalities present at birth.

Those are all the things in my notes involving the baby's father.

Glad you're going to the GP, MrsAVB. I hope they can give you something to help.

I had my scan. Everything's fine with the baby. I'm now measuring 8+4, with an EDD of 5/1/14. I requested that my 12 week scan be put back a week or so as I've had an appointment for 19th June, when I will be 11+3. I'd rather they can be certain of nuchal fold measurements etc, so it's better to be a week later.
It seems I have at least 3 large fibroids. They'll want to rescan me later in pregnancy to make sure the baby still has enough room to grow properly, but for now there's nothing to worry about. It also explains why none of my clothes fit any more :(

TobyLerone · 30/05/2013 10:24

enormouse, it sounds like you're entitled to a few mood swings. Poor you :(

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 30/05/2013 10:32

specific NO TEA?????? That is v bad news indeed. Also, I am just as mentally challenged these days. Cannot remember words, cannot spell, cannot concentrate! Fun.

carrot NICE Grin

donttry I'm so sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself. Flowers

frizz sounds like a fab trip, although sorry you're struggling foodwise.

MrsAVB I'm with you on the pink hatred. No 'princess' paraphenalia for me or any of my kids. Bleurgh. The planning meeting was okay, I did the whole 'I won't be carrying ANYTHING' dance, but I'm not sure they heard. We're moving archive stuff today, so I'll reinforce by reminding them that I can't do any lifting Grin. Glad you're going to the docs, I think it's a great idea.

enormouse I too have no perspective on life. I cry at the possibility that things MIGHT be bad in the future (e.g. 'what if DH doesn't find a new job and we can't move house: HOWL', 'what if the midwife is really horrid: SOB' etc etc). Your toddler sounds awesome though!

Toby yay for good scan and dates, although boo for nasty fibroids. Sensible decision on the NT scan date - I want it to be accurate as well.

frog my DH might come to booking in with me, but only cos he'll be off work. I hadn't planned for him too, so had questioned him about his family history!

So, today I feel sicker than usual, and I am constipated beyond anything I have ever experienced. Even the farts can't get out Grin.
I've tried Fybogel, prunes, all fruit for brekkie, no joy. I want to go home. stamps feet

SarahJayne321 · 30/05/2013 10:32

Morning ladies x

Just caught up on all the threads, I haven't posted since the first, classic lurker. Having a big of trouble working out EDD, as very irregular periods, but I know for sure my last cycle was only 23 days, starting 10th April, NHS saying 10th Jan 2014.

Very excited yet nervous, ended up in EPU 2 weeks ago with suspected ectopic, had scan and she said everything seemed healthy, she also said "can you see the foetus pulsating"? To which I answered "no", terrible parent? I assume this means a heartbeat? Correct me if I'm wrong...

Seriously considering an early scan as I'm beyond terrified that something may go wrong! Xxx

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 30/05/2013 10:51

TMI ALERT

The prunes finally worked. Grin

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 11:18

enormouse I did exactly the same with the bank! Arghhh!

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 11:20

Think the mood swings are here to stay. Have just accepted I will be irrational for the next 9 months!

humpty Omg - "even the farts cant get out"! Seriously cant stop laughing! So pleased the prunes finally worked!

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 11:22

Great stuff Toby glad u got to see your happy little bean! Stupid fibroids! Glad they are keeping a close eye on you! Grin

fryingpantoface · 30/05/2013 11:22

Good morning!

frog I don?t think it?s needed to have your OH there, but it?s nice for him to be involved. So i?ll taking mine with me, when the appointment finally comes!

I?ve just been in a training thing for work, only an hour. BUT the trainers didn?t turn up until we were supposed to be starting so the room wasn?t ready. As such, I was standing for the whole 65 mins (it went over) in a small hot room. It?s made me feel totally rubbish. Then, to make matters worse, I come upstairs and the work kitchen is making chilli and the frying mince smell is making me heave. Gosh, it?s like a pity party for one here!

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 11:23

Bless u Sarah! Its such a nerve wracking time isnt it! No one tells u how much u will worry when you get preggers!!! Thanks

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 11:26

fryingpan I can imagine! That sounds like a nightmare! I have zero standing stamina at the moment which is ridiculous - combine that with a small hot room followed by the smell of chilli and you well and truly deserve your pity party!!! Sad

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 11:30

Omg DHs breath at the moment is something I cant cope with at the moment bless him! I can tell if he has drunk coffee or had garlic from across the room! He was being really sweet yesterday and snuggled me up to him on the sofa and I ended up making him suck mints and had a cushion between his face and mine. He thought it was really funny! I felt really mean but I couldnt even breathe thru my mouth! Grin

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 30/05/2013 12:42

sultana I am with you. If DH has a drink, he is not allowed to sit next to me or face me in bed. Too rank for words.

fryingpan that's shit, can you sit down and rest now at least? Grrr for standing. Not fair.

MrsAVB · 30/05/2013 12:58

OMG, I just ate a peanut butter kit kat and it was AMAZING! Have been off chocolate the last few weeks, but that was the best thing I've eaten in days!
DH is coming to my booking appointment, but only cos he wants to, I didn't make him.
toby thanks for the very useful midwife list; am now slightly concerned that we need about a day long appointment to cover DH and my family histories, and that the baby is fucked, ho hum.
humpty congrats on the sucessful prune usage, our day would definitely be missing a certain je ne said quoi without that information. Talk of moving reminded me that I thought of you (i think it was you...) when reading the guardian mag as there was a "lets move to..." Charlton, which is apparently the new Blackheath.
X

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 30/05/2013 13:19

MrsAVB i am getting a peanut butter kit kat now. AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT. I also want Cheesestrings for lunch. Healthy, eh?
Charlton, eh? Interesting I shall investigate (it was me, v impressed by your memory!) Thanks lovely!

TobyLerone · 30/05/2013 13:26

My MW is coming out to my house to finish my booking-in appointment because it doesn't all fit in the 40-min slot they give you Hmm

I cannot stop eating Ritz crackers. Every time I stop, I feel sick.

MrsGSR · 30/05/2013 13:32

MrsAVB I'm in the same boat with family history, my family has a history of everything and dh's is almost as bad!

I don't think dh will be able to come to my booking in, I think he has quite a few questions so I'll have to get him to write them down.

I'm eating lots of salt and vinegar crisps at the moment, they seem to be settling my stomach :)

keskiviikko · 30/05/2013 13:33

I still can't do chocolate, unless it's in milk format! But with the sickness at the moment I have to pretty much force myself to eat anything. Not sure if it's the stinking cold I have or that I was feeling way to smug at not feeling or being sick! I was like, yeah 8 weeks and it's all going swimingly. Serves me right. I don't know if cravings are supposed to have started yet, but I had to have a pot noodle the other day. I haven't eaten one of them since I left school over 2 decades a go! (yeah old fart first time mum!)
MrsAVB I know the feeling about needing a day long appointment to go through all the family history. It will probably take the ejit doctor most of that time to understand that my mum was a foundling, so I don't have much in the way of family history. Only that we both are not the best breeding stock on the planet Wink
Humpty so glad the prunes worked, now you can fart away to your hearts content! What is the sudden increase in wind all about anyway?!

MrsGSR · 30/05/2013 13:33

Really glad you're scan went well Toby, God luck to everyone else having scans today and tomorrow, I'm getting very impatient!

MrsAVB · 30/05/2013 13:52

kes I was just considering a pot noodle. I bought one yesterday and its in my desk drawer. I am ashamed of it though so think I will have to go and get a mug of boiling water and then make it in my office where no one else can see. Blush

SpecificDreamRabbit · 30/05/2013 13:56

don?t, so sorry Flowers

carrot, is the Becks Blue actually nice? I like a beer, but not sure I fancy an alcohol-free one! Mind you, don?t fancy any alcohol at the moment, which I suppose is lucky.

frizz, I feel like I should be jealous of your trip, but sounds like you?re having a right old time of it! Sympathies ? it?s such a pain to not feel well when you?re on holiday.

fryingpan, I have absolutely no idea whether I?m having a boy or a girl! No feelings either way. And re trumping (haha), I think the only way is to brazen it out ? there is no stopping the trumps! Just let them free!

toby, if I am absolutely honest, I would like a girl ? but then that might be partly because I?m an only child and I feel like I have no idea what to do with a boy! I?m sure I?d work it out though, haha. I am a real girly girl, and love frills and bows and stuff, so knowing my luck I?ll have a tomboy who only wants to wear jeans Grin

I?m not really having any pregnancy cravings so far though ? just aversions! Oh well, am only 7+2 today so there?s plenty of time?

MrsGSR, I?m sorry to hear of the sad death of your saucepan Grin And Shock to frogcatcher about your car! Must have been a bit of a shock! Oh, and re prawns, my GP said it was fine to eat them if you were confident they were good quality and cooked through.

Hello, lovesbaking! Fingers crossed the medication is working for you.

fryingpan, I haven?t heard from my midwife either ? but the GP told me they don?t do booking in until 10-11 weeks (same as MrsVDB) and then the scan a week later, so I?m not worried yet. Sorry to hear about your 65-min hell! Sounds vile; hope you?re feeling better now.

Hope you managed to suck it up at the pub lunch, sultana! At least, only if you had soup. Be a bit strange to be sucking up a salad Grin /purposely misunderstands

frogcatcher, I keep thinking I don?t have many symptoms either? but when I actually think about it, I have plenty, just not nausea. Sore boobs, funny taste in mouth, funny niggling pains in uterus, stuffy nose, tiredness ? all tiny by themselves, but together I think it?s a good sign. Hopefully you?ll find the same when you think about it! Smile enormous, I think the ?mood swings from hell? count as a symptom, haha ? I definitely have those too!

Great news about your scan, toby!

Phew, think I?m pretty much caught up. Sorry to anyone I missed!

SpecificDreamRabbit · 30/05/2013 13:57

MrsAVB, I have an emergency pot noodle too Grin The shame, the shame!

TobyLerone · 30/05/2013 14:10

Epic post, Specific!

Re having a girl -- I am one of 4 girls. My mum was there when DC1 (a boy) was born. We had to ask the MW when she was putting his first nappy on what to do with a willy! None of us had any idea Blush
