Bugger Penny I guess at least u got a break. Today has been the worst for a while - am dreading pub lunch tomorrow!

Last time I just had a feeling it would be a boy. This time I don't have a feeling but I am trying to distance myself. I would genuinely be chuffed with either as this will be my first.

Just found out one of my close friends is preggers - sooo excited! Just pray this little one makes it as it would be awesome to have a little friend for this one! Grin

Penny31 · 29/05/2013 20:15

I feel rubbish, I though I'd got off lightly!

That's exciting sultana that your friend is preggers too. I'd love that. Unfortunately 2 of my friends recently had miscarriages. I have been holding off telling them my news in the hope they get pregnant straight away again. I don't want to upset them.

I actually really looking forward to making new friends hopefully. I plan on joining a few clubs when baby arrives in an attempt to meet new people.

MrsGSR · 29/05/2013 20:50

So sorry don't, i have no words but thought are with you

specific I think I've lost some iq, I destroyed a saucepan and the potatoes I was trying to boil yesterday :(

I have a feeling we're expecting a girl, for no real reason though! I am eating a lot of salt and vinegar crisps so maybe I'm wrong. I honestly can't decide if I want a boy or girl. I'd like both!

MrsGSR · 29/05/2013 20:52

penny I'm excited about joining play groups, we've only just moved to the area so it will be nice to meet some other mums :)

Frogcatcher · 29/05/2013 20:57

Hugs don't. So sorry to hear that.

Preggo brain on Sunday meant I didn't engage the handbrake hard enough when parked on my friends drive. Watched my beloved car roll back & hit a lamppost. Fortunately v minor damage so you can only see if you know where to look!

I think I'd like a girl as DP already has a son & I want everything to be totally different for us this time. Agree with the no pink princess thing though - I hate it that everything is pink for girls! Interesting what was said about prawns as I have been massively wanting to eat them at the moment!

MrsAVB · 29/05/2013 21:10

penny sorry your sickness is back. I thought I'd got off lightly by having my first vom free morning but just made up for it when I got to work, ho hum...

Toothfairy78 · 29/05/2013 21:11

Just realised I'm seeing the midwife for the first time next week! Haven't been working on a list of questions tho. I just want walk in and be told what to do. Anyone else feeling like this?

lovesbakingcupcakes · 29/05/2013 21:15

Hello! Is there room for one more? Can I join you please?? I have been lurking for a while but was reluctant to join until I'd had an early scan, which I had yesterday (at 8 weeks 2 days). I've had a couple of miscarriages in the past year so have been a bit anxious about this pregnancy but was very relieved yesterday to see a heartbeat. Due date 5 Jan.

Can sympathise with those who have been vomiting- I have been feeling totally miserable, total food aversion, cannot face going into any shop that has food, can't open our fridge without gagging and have been vomming 3-4 times a day for the past week. Went to my GP today who prescribed me some medication which I am hoping will help (although must say am reluctant to take, however am feeling pretty desperate). Was nowhere near as bad as this with DD. Wondering if I may be having a boy this time??

Anyway, nice to be on board! Smile

TobyLerone · 29/05/2013 21:23

There aren't really many questions to ask at this stage, Toothfairy Confused
What is it you want your MW to tell you? On your first visit, it's just form-filling mainly. Maybe you'll have some bloods taken. She'll ask you if you have any questions probably, but it's not compulsory :o

Hi loves :)

Toothfairy78 · 29/05/2013 21:43

Toby thanks for that!

I feel like I haven't given this really important thing enough thought IYKWIM.

Oh somebody slap me!

fryingpantoface · 29/05/2013 22:10

I've still not heard from the mw about the booking in date and the scan. Last time, I had my booking in at 6 weeks. It was crazy! If I've not heard anything by the weekend, well Monday, I'll call to chase it with the doctors as i'm 6+4 weeks today.

We found out this afternoon our favourite Chinese take-away delivers to our new house! So for tea, I had that. It was amazing. Prawn won-wons, prawn toast, and sweet and sour pork with chips and fried rice. Genuinely fantastic food. So i'm up later than I thought because the food took a while getting here (they got lost) but i'm going to bed in a minute

TobyLerone · 29/05/2013 23:04

I'm trying to think of things my MW didn't cover in my booking-in appt, but I can't. I know I didn't have any questions when she asked. Maybe she's just really comprehensive!

MrsBB1982 · 30/05/2013 07:22

Tooth Both booking in appointments were very thorough. Like toby said it's mainly form filling. You see your midwife pretty frequently so there's plenty of opportunities for questions as you go along.

Congrats on the scan loves - offf for mine a few hours fx

TobyLerone · 30/05/2013 07:24

Good luck, MrsBB :)

MrsVDB · 30/05/2013 07:52

Went to the doctors yesterday who said I won't hear from midwife until 10-11 weeks Sad

However as I have a septate uterus (bit of one anyway) apparently I can just go to the walk in at hospital and they will scan me so might do that next week.

5+5 today and that's when I started spotting last time before mc a week later. Had sharp pain on left really low yesterday but no spotting so hoping its better thus time.

Very jealous of all your scans!

BookTart · 30/05/2013 07:53

Good luck for the scan mrsbb :)

fryingpan I don't have a midwife appointment yet and I'm 7+5. At the EPU they said to give it until the end of NEXT week before chasing Hmm. I'm not happy as I've not even had a blood test yet and I'm a bit worried my progesterone might be low.

Today I am mostly panicking because I have proper PMS symptoms and my period would be due tomorrow. Slap me please!

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 08:34

Good luck today Toby & mrsbb. Welcome loves.

Penny will keep everything crossed for your friends with mc. I have a friend who had a stillbirth followed by a mc so am really not looking forward to telling her, although I am sure she will be happy, and another really struggling to get pregnant. I will be very aware of how I tell them and ensure they hear it from me.

Loving the "losing it" stories. I actually had to stop and think about what I needed to make my bowl of cereal this morning - you know, the things you would normally do automatically!!! Grin

Feeling unbelievably rough this morning - can barely hold my head up despite going to be at 9pm last night!!! Absolutely dreading the pub lunch - really food aversive today. Am tempted to cancel, but that will only be putting it off for another food aversive day. Ah well, its only a couple of hours - am sure I can suck it up! Come on Sultana! Suck it up!!! Wink

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 08:36

book consider yourself slapped! I had the most ridiculous panic yesterday for no reason whatsoever! Slapped myself very hard indeed!!!

BookTart · 30/05/2013 09:04

Cheers sultana! Of corse what I really need to calm me down is some gin

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 09:12

Lol! What would calm me down would be being past the 12 weeks with a happy little bubba! The closer it gets the more panicky I get! !!!Grin

MrsAVB · 30/05/2013 09:15

Morning all. Have made a GP appointment for this afternoon. I know lots of people have it worse and feel like a bit of a fraud, but 4-6 voms a day for 4 weeks is starting to grind me down.
Welcome and congrats cupcakes, we are due around the same date Smile.
My midwife appointment and scan appointment came in the post about 10 days after I saw the GP straight after my BFP. Appointments are at 10 weeks and 12 weeksish respectively though so the only difference is having the dates I guess, but this is good for planning time off, telling people etc. it's annoying that its different depending on where you are.
mrsb and I think someone else? - FX for your scans today!
sultana good luck for your lunch!
pea and choco thinking of you and hoping you're feeling better, in case you're lurking and not posting.
humpty how did planning meeting for conference go?
Have a good day all
X

Frogcatcher · 30/05/2013 09:22

frying we had chinese take-away last night too! Not going to beat myself up that bubs is going to be suffer though as I had a healthy salad & stuff for lunch & a glass of milk after my takeway Grin.

Starting to panic a bit now that my lack of symptoms (apart from extreme tiredness - bed at 9pm last night!) means the worst has happened. I know that all of you who are feeling rough will be throwing things at the screen now & yes, I am obviously mental. Scan is booked for a week today when I'll be 8+3 but kind of wish I'd booked it earlier. Not heard a peep from my midwife either book, frying and yes, MrsVDB a friend of mine told me I wouldn't hear from them until at least 8 wks & see them at 10.

Odd qn but does DP need to come to the midwife booking in? Just thought it might be easier if they want to know his family history too.

extracrunchy · 30/05/2013 09:31

Argh I spent a day away from MN and missed loads!!!!

Good luck to everyone with scans today.

I thought sickness was better, but apparently time spent on public transport is excluded. Had to get off bus to barf yesterday. Very dignified!

Is anyone else extremely forgetful? Like short term..?! I keep doing things like putting milk back in the fridge, then 15 seconds later wondering whether I put the milk back in the fridge.

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 09:45

mrsavb I think thats a very good idea! It must really be taking it out of u!! Hope they can give u something to help!

Sultanajo · 30/05/2013 09:46

extra sooo forgetful which is why I end up posting lots of mini posts because I cant remember who said what! Its terrible!!!Grin
