Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Frogcatcher · 28/05/2013 22:52

Oh & that thought just sent me into total panic as I am pretty symptomless physically & just an emotional wreck so I had to go & POAS. Not done that for weeks & was so relieved to see the test line on the Internet cheapie appearing really dark instantly & much darker than the control line. Phew.

MrsGSR · 28/05/2013 23:05

pod he's pretty good with squeamish stuff, although I think he is also planning to stay 'at the head end'!

I haven't bought DH a card, although I think if I'd only just found out it would be a really cool way of telling him. I might make him one thinking about it, just so the day doesn't go by unmentioned.

MrsGSR · 28/05/2013 23:06

and choco sorry your feeling so crap, hoping it starts to get better soon so you don't have to go into hospital!

Sultanajo · 29/05/2013 07:33

mac so pleased your scan went well!

chocco & pod so sorry for u both! Really hope neither of you end up hospitalised. As you say pod it must make u feel a tiny bit better that they have recognised it as HG. I am grateful that I can at least force a few things down.... will keep everything crossed things get better for u quickly xx

keskiviikko · 29/05/2013 09:27

So sorry to hear your news Foody. I wish there was something that could be said that would help.

MrsAVB · 29/05/2013 09:32

Breaking news ladies... For the first time in about 4 weeks I have not been sick in the morning before work. YEAH! High five me! . Long may it continue. doesn't mention that also for the first time I also woke up in the middle of the night and had to vom
Hope everyone's doing ok this morning xxx

Frogcatcher · 29/05/2013 10:06

Great news I think MrsAVB! So sorry to hear about all those with hg or extreme vomming. Very good job that I'm not suffering from ms as I had to deal with a decapitated mouse in the kitchen this morning & a disgusting litter tray (& yes I know about toxiplasmosis but DP is away Sad) . Sometimes I hate my cats. I'm not getting off scot free though as I've had a cough, sore throat & been losing my voice for 3 weeks now. Went to the chocolate teapot GP this morning & he just says it's viral & nothing he can do. Basically my pg suppressed immune system has let me down & can't fight it off.

Sultanajo · 29/05/2013 10:17

Woop woop mrsAVG! Thats an achievement! Hurray! Long may it last!!!

Sultanajo · 29/05/2013 10:24

Frog I too am battling litter trays and cat food! Just making sure I wear gloves and thoroughly wash my hands! Thankfully no decapitated rodents What a shame u r suffering with a viral infection. Never smooth sailing is it?

Gone off all my normal "go to" foods it would seem this morning, so off in a bit to try and find something I may want to eat. Got a weird craving for lasagne, but am not gonna spend hours making one, just to find out I dont want it after all! Grin

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 29/05/2013 10:46

EPIC POST KLAXON (catching up):

Yoni sadly there are only 3 of us in total (me, colleague, boss) - that's half the problem - if I don't do it, it don't get done!

pod I'm not that surprised, tbh, but sorry nonetheless to hear of your HG diagnosis. I know you feel you 'can't' take time off, but you really don't want to end up in hospital lovely - then you'll have to take time off. I know that probably doesn't help, but if you need persuading into taking time off, I am your girl. I really think resting would be better for you right now. [not a doctor, well, not that kind of doctor disclaimer emoticon]. Poor lovely. Naughty pea, bullying you so badly.

tarka MIND OVER MATTER??? That makes me ver stabby Angry. Was that a man, by any chance? Twat.

MrsG I tried to call my midwife/hospital line today (to check if it's just the booking in appt or the booking in + scan) - not only did they not answer ('we are very busy, kindly fuck off and leave us alone') but one of the two contact numbers on the letter didn't work. Doncha love the NHS?

mac yay for scan!

Choco have a hug, lovely (gentle one). That sucks. You poor love.

MrsAVB mmmm, calling in sick - very tempting! We're having a staff meeting today, so I'm going to try saying very firmly that my 'physio referral Hmm' came through, and my back is quite bad, so what would 'we' like to plan in terms of all the moving stuff around for the conference. Might work. Otherwise, Mr Humpty has quit his job (Massive yay as he hates it, and is miserable) and has to work until next Thurs, at which point he is on 'gardening leave' until Aug (also looking for a new job, obvs... Grin), so has sweetly offered to come and help out.
Sorry your smoothy didn't stay down, erk. Also WF is INSANELY expensive. I bought pine nuts from there once (in extremis), and was horrified. £6.
Very glad you didn't vom today though! Woop!
father's day card - nah, gonna wait and do a properly embarrassing one next year.

frog and sultana poor you - litter trays would finish me. I leaned out the window after DH left the house yesterday morning and SCREAMED down the street like a fishwife 'COME BACK AND TAKE OUT THE BIN', cos it's stinky and grim.

Felt sick on train again today, but not too bad otherwise.

CursiveLetters · 29/05/2013 11:41

humpty you accidentally made a little prego rhyme! "'COME BACK AND TAKE OUT THE BIN', cos it's stinky and grim" :p

Sultanajo · 29/05/2013 11:46

Loving your epic post humpty! Thats true dedication!,Wink So pleased for your DH. Bet he is counting the hours! That sounds like a great plan bringing up your physio in advance and the fact your DH can also potentially help out! Sounds perfect and u would have someone on your side watching your back (scuse the pun)! Grin

MrsGSR · 29/05/2013 11:58

humpty I think I'm going to give up on ringing them, when I go in on Friday I'll speak to them in person.

When I rang my gp to ask what I had to do to get a midwife appointment the receptionist was really confused because apparently the outside lines were off and I'd managed to come through on an internal line. No idea what happened there.

I think I have trapped wind this morning, the abdomen feels under pressure if that makes sense. It's worrying me as it tends to happen just before I come on. 2 more days until the scan when we'll know for sure :/

TobyLerone · 29/05/2013 12:01

We can be scan buddies on Friday, MrsG :)

MrsGSR · 29/05/2013 12:07

fx they both go well toby! mines in the afternoon as dh usually has a half day so I'm hoping he can be there. He has only been able to come to one appointment so far, which was just a blood test, he was very sweet afterwards and told me he was surprised how much he hated seeing the doctor put a needle in me!

chocoloulou33 · 29/05/2013 12:14

I have a scan friday too. My first one! So nervous & excited :) x

Sultanajo · 29/05/2013 12:14

Aw bless your DH mrsgsr how cute is that??? Fingers crossed he can make it and u get to see a healthy happy bubba! Will be thinking of u on Friday!

Will be thinking of u too Toby. Hopefully will be a fabbie day of scans!!!Smile

Sultanajo · 29/05/2013 12:15

And thinking of u too chocco! How far along r u now? X

TobyLerone · 29/05/2013 12:19

Oooh, lots of us on Fri! I think I'll be going to mine by myself because DH is interviewing someone at work. He's not best pleased, but it can't be helped. Mine will probably focus more on the fibroids than the baby, anyway. Far less interesting!

How are you feeling this morning, loulou?

flowersfortea · 29/05/2013 13:17

Hello ladies, what a very busy thread but have you room for one more?

I'm due in mid January according to my LMP but I wouldn't be surprised if it's at the end or even a bit later because my cycles were very irregular. It's our first so very exciting and scary all at the same time!

Trying to catch up on the whole thread but it's really nice to hear from everyone going through similar things. Over here not a lot to tell except my breasts are killing me already.

Does anyone have any advice about how to tell a close friend who recently had a missed miscarriage? I'm not planning to tell close friends and family until after the 12 week scan (only our parents know) but am already worried about upsetting her so any advice greatly appreciated.

MrsAVB · 29/05/2013 13:26

Well done on the epic post humpty... All I have to say is NICE! Grin
choco are you feeling any better today? Thinking of pea too.
flowers welcome and congrats! There's always room for one more! My advice would be to tell her in private and before she gets a chance to hear from elsewhere. I think I've heard it suggested as well that you email/ text rather than tell in person, that way she gets a chance to process her own emotions before having to put on a happy congratulatory face for you. I think that all depends on your relationship though, with some people it might be a bit weird to email.
X

keskiviikko · 29/05/2013 13:41

Flowers I'm sure your friend will be pleased for you.

I'm off to the hospital on Friday too, haven't got a clue what for, just got 2 letters through the post requesting my presence and two bottles of pee! At least that is one thing I suppose, I get to pee before I go, unlike you other ladies! Hope they are running to time Grin

LadySpencer · 29/05/2013 13:55

Exciting times for all with scans coming up!

Sorry to hear that some are having a tough time with sickness.

I'm starting to become less anxious (or trying to). Was worried that I was not having a lot of symptoms but flipped my thinking on my head and now thinking I'm just fortunate. I have sore boobs to the touch, boobs are going massive too. Pulling in my lower abdomen and really tired. Also can't stop eating! So thinking of it...they are quite a few symptoms. Just done a pregnancy test and still very strong...stronger than the control line.

Had booking in appt with midwife yesterday, she felt my tummy and said she could feel my uterus...which is a good sign I think?! No idea when my scan will be but sure I'll go crazy in the mean time...still have about 5 weeks until 12 week time! Are so many having early scans because of previous complications, being high risk or paying privately? Quite a few saying they are having them around 8 weeks?!

SpecificDreamRabbit · 29/05/2013 13:56

Sorry I?ve been a bit AWOL! I?ve mostly been asleep ? or at work where my brain is asleep Grin

Anyone else feeling as if they've dropped more than a few IQ points? A few days ago I was making myself some dinner, and I poured my pasta sauce on top of the pasta? before I?d drained the water from the pasta. Blush I lost half the sauce down the sink as I tried to drain out the water around it!

Hello to the new ladies, and congrats on your bfps Smile

Hugs to foody, if you come back and see this. Take care of yourself.

Sympathy to those vomming away? My troubles are small, but they are important. I have GONE OFF TEA. Yes, that deserves the capslock. I love tea! But it doesn?t taste right any more!

carrotcakecupcake · 29/05/2013 15:36

rabbit I'm completely with you in feeling like a thicko. I did a food shop for the week last Friday and have been back to the shops no less that three time since to get things I forgot the first time round. Also can't wait until I'm 12 wks and can apologize to all my work colleagues and friends for being such a space cadet, with a valid reason!
Also someone mentioned becks blue earlier - totally saved me at the pub this weekend. Next hurdle is a bbq this weekend at our house. Might fill an empty vodka bottle with water (no one else drinks the stuff) and drink with cranberry.
NICE (still makes meGrin )
