Morning all,

Sorry to hear that people are having a tough time. Wish you all the best Flowers

been feeling anxious since yesterday because the stretching/pulling feelings which have been grumbling away in my belly for the past week or two (reassuring me that things were happening) have completely stopped over the past couple of days. My belly feels totally quiet and inactive.

I've got a private scan booked for next Weds (I'll be 9+6) and before that I have to spend 5 days away from home running a workshop, so I have to try to put the anxiety to the back of my mind for the next week.

My DP always reminds me that with my first pregnancy with my daughter I kept feeling like things had stopped happening, and it was always fine, so I'm trying to hang on to that.

Still got exhaustion and permanent low level nausea, DD demanding breakfast now by throwing plastic dinosaurs and sheep at me, so I must go!

MrsAVB · 28/05/2013 09:06

choco sending lots of love. Definitely time to see the dr. Hope they can prescribe something. Do you have someone to look after the kids if you have to go to the surgery? Know what you mean about calling in sick (I used to run holiday playschemes too), but don't feel bad, it's prob the worst kind of job to do when you're sick, and you have to look after yourself. Hope you and the kids have lots of good tv to watch.
Xxx

bluecarrot · 28/05/2013 09:15

Thanks everyone ESP gobbolino and your dp.

I'm not in any pain at all thankfully (just stingy when I eat something sweet on that side of my mouth)

I'm more worried about infection causing damage to the baby vs higher risk of miscarriage getting tooth removed early. Trying to get through on phone now for an appointment.

bluecarrot · 28/05/2013 09:31

Have to go down at 2 and wait in case there is a last minute cancellation.

choco what age are the kids? Can anyone take them for you for a while or are they old enough to mostly entertain themselves?

eccentrica hopefully its just your muscles and ligaments have fine all the stretching they need to do right now and they are giving you a break. Isnt it odd how we worry when we experience discomfort then worry when it stops?!

carrotcakecupcake · 28/05/2013 09:50

hugs to everyone having a tough time this week and welcome to the newbies.

enormouse (love the name btw) I can totally sympathise on the men's deodorant issue - it's gag inducing at the best of times, but then when you throw in some preggo hormones it's just vile! Fortunately the ms hasn't kicked in (yet) but I still have to run to the other side of the house and stick my head out the window when DH is getting dressed.

Also woke with the rage this morning; am convinced DH woke me up at 4:30 or perhaps I needed the loo and lay awake for an hour working myself up because I was so tired and needed to sleep yet wasn't, while DH slumbered away Envy

Can't wait to wake up feeling refreshed one day, rather than sleeping 8 hours and waking up feeling like I've been hit by a bus!

MrsGSR · 28/05/2013 10:46

keeping my fx for book and yoni that everything is okay.

Sorry to hear so many people are feeling bad, hopefully it will start to fade for all of us at 9 weeks!

MrsGSR · 28/05/2013 10:47

Also DHs deodorant is making me feel ill to, I'm trying to work out if it's reasonable to suggest he sprays it in the back garden!

enormouse · 28/05/2013 10:58

Maybe we could suggest locking them in a cupboard/similar enclosed space so they can spray themselves to their hearts content?

carrotcupcake I feel exactly the same. Permanently knackered. Hope it goes away soon.

Epic fail/baby brain on the mum and toddlers front - forgot it was the summer trip to soft play (or hell as some like to call it). So I think I dodged a bullet there and we went to the park instead.

Penny31 · 28/05/2013 11:03

Morning all. Got my midwife app in half an hour :)

I sneezed this morning and ouch the pain! A horrible sensation in my abdomen!

CursiveLetters · 28/05/2013 11:50

enormouse oh yeah that is the WORST! DH doesn't wear any deodorant but he has a good friend who soaks himself in the teenage boy smelling variety. It's always hard to be out with him because I can't really keep my distance but the smell is just vile.

Suffered through my first no-booze dinner party last night. I'm not a big drinker anyway so that didn't really bother me, was just a bit awkward to get offered drinks so often, I alternated between saying no and slipping to DH (who was quite happy with the arrangement actually).

The worst part was the food took aaaages - we got there on time 8pm and dinner was finally served at half past 11. When the dinner came out the "vegetarian option" was literally just a bit of boiled asparagus. When I saw I had been waiting hours to eat three stalks of boiled asparagus I honestly felt like crying. Hate not being able to tell people yet, I wanted to say "did you seriously just make a pregnant lady stay up til midnight to eat boiled asparagus for her dinner??"

CursiveLetters · 28/05/2013 11:51

penny31 have not experienced the painful sneeze yet! the wide variety of weird little feelings and pains I'm getting is amazing though

TobyLerone · 28/05/2013 12:05

I'm shocked that adults wear Lynx! I don't even let 13yo DS wear it :o

MrsBB1982 · 28/05/2013 12:17

And so I find myself upduffed again
Was on the August 2011 bus with DS now 21mo and now have DD of 20th Jan
Had forgotten all the lovely pregnancy symptoms
Farting like a wild animal - check
Burping as above - check
Obsessive knicker checking - check
Urgh...morning sicknes - double check
Despite all this - very excited Grin

MrsAVB · 28/05/2013 12:24

Welcome and congrats mrsb! You're a hero being pg with 2 LOs!

penny, how did you get on at the midwives?

X

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 28/05/2013 12:38

mrsbb - looking forward to sharing some tips! I have a DS (6 months today) and am 7 weeks pregnant with a surprise BFP. Very relieved to see someone with short age gaps here and having number 3 now. Kudos!

TobyLerone · 28/05/2013 12:41

Welcome, newbies :) I can't believe we're still increasing in numbers!

I've rung the EPU and have another scan on Friday morning so they can look properly at the fibroids.

How are you doing now, yoni and book?

Penny31 · 28/05/2013 13:10

Back from midwives and it was fine. Just lots paperwork. Weight and blood pressure fine. Have to go back for bloods on 11th June. Now I just wait for scan date. Bring it on!

Frogcatcher · 28/05/2013 13:19

Morning all. Sympathy to the vomming ones & hugs to those with spotting & other worries.

Just when I was starting to worry as a lot of symptoms seem to be non-existent for me I have discovered a weird taste one - the melon in my M & S fruit salad this lunchtime tastes like dentist mouthwash! Yuck & double yuck.

I may not have any classic pg ailments but I have a doctor's appt booked tmrw as I've had a sore throat & dry cough for over 2 weeks now & occasionally lose my voice until I hack up gunk. Not sure what they'll be able to give me but the only OTC cough mixture you're allowed when pg just ain't cutting it anymore! I can imagine I could just get sent away & told to gargle with salt water or something.

Just counting the days now to my scan next Thurs when I'll be 8+3. So excited as well as nervous!

BookTart · 28/05/2013 13:35

Frog let me know what the doc says, I've had a horrible cough this week. I've been wondering if all the coughing is enough to have caused the spotting I've had, it's been that bad. I know my sore throat is acid reflux- I hope yours is something more treatable. penny the sneezing is horrible isn't it, I've taken to grabbing myself beforehand, which is probably quite alarming to bystanders...

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes. I hope I'm not tempting fate but the spotting seems to have stopped today. I do have horrible backache, but I'm assuming that is my work chair rather than anything sinister for now.

MrsAVB · 28/05/2013 13:38

Glad you got ok at the midwife's (midwives'?, midwives? - pregnancy brain = grammar bad) penny.
I wish I worked near a shop that sells food. When I leave in the morning am so vommy that am just bringing boring crap in for lunch, then am stuck with it for the rest of the day, boo!
X

Penny31 · 28/05/2013 13:55

I think it should be midwife's actually? I got it wrong Blush

Penny31 · 28/05/2013 13:55

book I'm please things are better today for you :)

MrsGSR · 28/05/2013 14:29

I've had pain when sneezing, mostly just little twinges.

Glad the spotting seems to have stopped book, fx it stays that way

keskiviikko · 28/05/2013 14:33

Well I was feeling quiet smug as I only really had mild nausea and retching on brushing my teeth. Well that ended in a full blown cold and vomitting profusley in the middle of the night. Not had any major food adversions, just not able to eat much with out feeling really full.

To everyone that is having sickness as long as you are staying hydrated and aren't too skinny you should be fine. The hormone that is realised during preganancy will actually encourage your body to release its fat stores to keep the parasite growing little human well feed and healthy!

Vatta · 28/05/2013 14:59

Oh dear cursiveletters asparagus is a side dish not a valid vegetarian option! I don't know what goes through some people's minds when they're planning on feeding vegetarians, it's like they literally think only vegetables are possible.

I tend to "helpfully" offer to bring my own main course, sometimes people accept as it saves them cooking a separate option. More often they say "oh don't worry we'll do you some asparagus (or whatever)" which at least gives you the chance to politely say you may need more than that (or, if you don't feel you can do that, to eat before you go....)
