Thanks humpty. Unfortunately I can't have any time off at the moment without an amazing reason, as I'm in the middle of managing a huge project. I'll call the EPU if it is still around at the end of the week :)

enormouse · 27/05/2013 20:18

I can't offer any advice booktart but I couldn't leave you unanswered. But if you're worried you should contact the epu. I hope someone comes along with better advice soon.

bluecarrot I think it'll be Antrim area as that's where I had DS and I think it's the nearest to me.

Mac2014 · 27/05/2013 20:26

booktart sorry to hear you're so worried. If it was me I'd ring NHS direct. They've been good to me and my husband before now.

Big hugs, fingers crossed it's all ok.

bluecarrot · 27/05/2013 20:32

Book - now that you have had contact with EPU I'd go back to them with anything worrying you. Even if they just add a note of it in your file for future reference. Keep a diary yourself too. Does your work know you are pregnant?

Enormouse - that's where I make the baby stuff for! Seems like a lovely hospital. My friend had her three kids there and speaks highly of it, but I like to stick with what I know. Even though its prob changed drastically in last 10 years!

enormouse · 27/05/2013 20:44

Ooh what kind of baby stuff? It was quite a positive experience. I got a student midwife assigned that was trained by my community midwife so I felt pretty well taken care of. But I do remember them being quite pushed for bed space on the postnatal ward.

LittlePeaPod · 27/05/2013 20:46

Congratulations to all the new ladies with BFP Flowers

Hey chocco33 sorry you feel so pants. It's just awful.. I am feeling the same but my problem is total food aversion rather than ms. Not sure if it will help due to your ms but I have been getting headaches because I have not been drinking enough water and its a sign of dehydration. It may help to drink a bit more water. A little at a time.. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Humpty. Due to see MW on 29th and will try and get a doc appointment too. Well I spent the first 5 weeks worrying / complaining (wishing) I had ms or real strong pregnancy symptoms. Now look at me.. Hmm I had heard of food aversion but it never crossed my mind that it could be so severe. I am really pleased to hear you are having a good day and got some good foods down you.. Hope tomorrow is another good day for you.

Book how do you get a MW where you are? I would inform the MW and tell your GP. Now you have seen heartbeat on scan hopefully he will be more helpful. If neither is an option then I would contact your EPU again.

Sultanajo the blender.... Brilliant pregnancy brain moment... Grin

Well as for me... Went to Wagamamma's and ordered the chicken katsu curry I really wanted from 6am this morning. And guess what? Yeap, could not eat it. Drove 40 mins only to eat about half a bowl of green beans with chilli salt. DF had pizza tonight and I had a slice.. So better than nothing but not as good as I hoped...

Hope all the ladies feeling pants feel better soon, really pleased for the ladies coming out of the sickness, all the best to everyone with scans/MW appointments over the next few days.

Oops forgot to ask.. Has anyone else noticed a pulling achy (not cramps) feeling just behind and a little above your pubic bone? It's a bit like the stretchy pain you feel at the gym? Not worried (YET) as its definitely not cramp as in AF cramps. It's different and I am putting it down to uterus ligaments stretching. Will ask MW about it but just wondered if anyone else is getting it? Cheers.

Sultanajo · 27/05/2013 21:07

Hey pod what a bummer about your curry! At least u managed green beans and a pizza slice - every little helps.

I had two days of stabby type pains behind my pubic bone at around 8 weeks - not sure if that's what u r experiencing?

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 27/05/2013 21:09

booktart - I'm really sorry that you're worried

Second contacting the EPU. Separately, I understand how hard it can be to take time off but if you are at all concerned then please go to the EPU or A&E etc.

Sultanajo · 27/05/2013 21:11

book I would ring the EPU in the morning and have a chat with them for reassurance as they have just seen u. Fingers crossed its nothing to worry about and will just bugger off again in a few days....bound to make u worry after your previous experience! So unfair! Xxx

LittlePeaPod · 27/05/2013 21:11

That's sounds like it Sultanajo. Plus would make sense as I am 8 weeks tomorrow. Must be the uterus..

Hi everyone!

Wow you have been busy over the last couple of days! Sorry for those of you struggling with sickness. I feel your pain. Mine went at 8.5 weeks and I realise I'm lucky but there is hope!

I survived the wedding! Paying for it today though feel like I have the worst hangover and have been asleep for most of the afternoon. No one noticed I want drinking :) DP polished off my champers and wine when no one was looking! I danced for ages and a fab time. Phew!

My Doppler arrived on Friday and we tried it out this afternoon in between naps and it works! AMAZING. Took a while to find a heartbeat and kept hearing mine because there are some main arteries down there. It's soooo much faster than mine was so was easy to tell the difference. I was completely overwhelmed and seeing the smile on DP'S face was priceless. Can not wait for a scan now! At least the Doppler will reassure me until then. Not going to use it too often though, I'm worried about what it does to baby :)

TobyLerone · 27/05/2013 21:12

Yy pod, I've had that. Can't say it worried me because it wasn't painful. And I'm sorry you didn't get your curry :(

Oh, Book :( I'm sorry you're worried. I'd ring the EPU tomorrow. I'll be ringing them myself tomorrow because they told me to self-refer because of the fibroids they found.

Penny31 · 27/05/2013 21:13

pod I've had stretchy feeling too. Just feels like everything is growing really.

Sultanajo · 27/05/2013 21:13

chocco so sorry u have now progressed to vomming! It royally sucks! Really hope it gets better for u soon.

TobyLerone · 27/05/2013 21:14

You've managed to use a doppler already, penny? Wow!

Sultanajo · 27/05/2013 21:14

Welcome by the way enormouse and curvasive x

fryingpantoface · 27/05/2013 21:16

I accidentally hid this thread. Any ideas how I find it again? I had to trawl through my internet history

Sultanajo · 27/05/2013 21:16

humpty no wonder u hate the Klass! My DH used to like the classical band Escala when they first appeared and I named them Slutla!

bluecarrot · 27/05/2013 21:20

Enormouse - I make stuff for the neonatal unit so hopefully your baby wont be needing any of it! Its things like quilts to go on top of the mattress to make the incubator a little softer, as well as blankets, cardigans, hats etc. Most hospitals accept donations. I started because of my mum, who does it because she was verging on a micro-preemie at birth.

Penny Im excited to hear that the sickness can leave earlier than 12 weeks. I can deal with nausea better than I can deal with the tiredness - Im willing it to leave asap! Glad you had a great time at the wedding.

Sultanajo · 27/05/2013 21:20

Yeah Penny so pleased your vomming hasn't returned and you had a good time at the wedding! That's so cool hearing the heartbeat using the Doppler already! I am tempted to try mine but I know if I can't find it at this stage I will worry so gonna leave it until am further along....x

Sorry, Ieant show up in my I'm on list.

congrats on hearing the heartbeat penny! I won't be trying it for a few weeks

Frogcatcher · 27/05/2013 21:25

Hi Book if you can't speak to the EPU which is probably the best first port of call are you in the midwife's book at your GP surgery? Maybe you could speak to the midwife through the GP reception even if you haven't officially been booked in yet?

Sympathy to all those who can't eat or have nausea. I'm just being lazy whilst DP is away & not cooking as I can't be bothered. Jacket potato with loads of tuna & sweetcorn is balanced anyway right?! Grin

I get the pulling pains pod & all sorts of abdominal/pelvic minor cramps all over the place. I just ignore them now or would drive myself insane with worry!

Feeling massively emotional today which isn't helped by DP being overseas & not able to speak to him. I've just tried to keep busy & plotting how I want some home re-decoration to look in his absence!

Back to work tomorrow though. [where is the ugh emoticon?]

LittlePeaPod · 27/05/2013 21:30

Frying you may need to email MN so they can help you change your settings so it shows up. I had to do that accidentally hd a thread I was on.
