Trix I think it is just a heartbeat check after 6 weeks. I think they can see it from anytime after 6 weeks.

There is a place near me that does viability scans for £80 so I have that if the stress gets too bad. I will take it a day at a time as I think you can get appointments really quickly if I need to.

Keep I am still on all my original dose meds until week 10. So that is 4 x 200mg progesterone pessaries a day for another week. Then I start to ween off the meds so I will be meds free by the end of week 12.

cartoontrickster · 27/05/2013 18:52

the heartbeat us what I'm worried about. I think 6+4 could be hit and miss as to whether they can detect it. plus 6+4 is just a good guess at how far along I am. based on an average 28 days cycle and how early I could poss get a bfp. but the one cycle I had in between was 33days so..... but the whole thing really messes with your cycle so there's just as much chance that I had a really short on and could be a day or 2 ahead. I just really don't want to be stuck in a waiting game because they couldn't find a heartbeat yet.

keepitgoing · 28/05/2013 03:54

Trix, I think you are highly likely to see a heartbeat, BUT if you don't it's not necessarily something bad, and they'd prob give you a scan a week later. Remind me the date you got your bfp? Let's call that 8dpo at the Very Earliest. sparks 2 days can make a difference at the point. Lots of ivf clinics scan at 6+1, so they must assume they'll see a HB then.

sweetie I didn't realise you were on 4 fanny candles a day... Will be a relief to get rid, hey!

SweetieTime · 28/05/2013 08:14

keep i will not be sad to leave them behind. They are so messy. I just hope they aren't hiding the trutg and when I stop then I start bleeding or something. I don't dare Google that sort of thing for fear of scaring myself further.

keepitgoing · 28/05/2013 08:47

Nope, when I stopped cold turkey I freaked out on the doctor but he didn't even do blood tests. Once the placenta's there, there's no need.

Yep, they are gross, and make you feel gross. But hey, if they helped then I love them!

cartoontrickster · 28/05/2013 10:03

keep ny bfp was 8th may. do your maths Grin. x

keepitgoing · 28/05/2013 10:21

That makes you minimum 6+1 tomorrow, if you'd got bfp at 8dpo. This is unlikely, so i'd think you will be more like 6+4, minimum, so bfp at 11dpo. I think it'll be fine... What time is the scan?

cartoontrickster · 28/05/2013 10:29

4.50pm! we are seeing the NHS consultant in the morning, it was to get our test results, obviously I already have them now as I got them to give me them over the phone as soon as I got bfp. but we are still going along to discuss things further. I'm thinking of trying to talk them into scanning me, worth a shot and will save us waiting all day and having like a 3hr round trip plus my private clinic is always at least 20mins behind!
the nervous are kicking in a bit now! I'm trying to focus on the positive things like strong preggo lines and no blood. theres no reason why it shouldn't all be fine. plus my bfp was with evening wee Grin so would have been diluted which surely means I'm less likely to have had a v.early bfp right?

keepitgoing · 28/05/2013 10:35

I think so! You may have been 14dpo. I hope you get a morning scan as otherwise I'll be in bed by the time you can tell us
No reason it won't be fine! We are Brooking No Argument.

cartoontrickster · 28/05/2013 10:41

oh no I forgot you would be sleeping by then! rubbish time of day for a scan I think! fingers crossed I can sweet talk the morning consultant.
4 bum fanny candles a day sweetie good grief! they are yuk aren't they.

SweetieTime · 28/05/2013 10:50

Trix it is so bloody hard waiting all day for the scan. I hope they look in the morning for you. like keep says you are more likely to be further on than you think. especially if you got a strong line with afternoon pee.

I think they don't take any chances with old birds like me at our clinic. Dh says if we were on so many meds on our own ivf cycle would we have stood more chance of getting a bfp. but we will never know.

I am full of cold today and had a really annoying cough in the night. as a preggo what can I take?

keepitgoing · 28/05/2013 11:10

Only take things if you really need, is the rule. Paracetamol is OK. I'd try lemon and honey first.

Are you used to saying 'as a preggo' yet? Grin

keepitgoing · 28/05/2013 11:11

And no point looking to past cycles. Dib and Dab are where it's at! :)

cartoontrickster · 28/05/2013 11:12

sweetie I think its best to be on all medication possible! worth it in end isn't it.
as for cold remedies sorry I've no idea, whats your midwife like can you send her a text or something to ask?
thanks keep and sweetie for reassuring me. obviously I'm using the first day of full flow (that's right isn't it?) as my lmp but actually I spotted a bit the day or 2 before that which I never get. so I guess that could affect my dates a little too.

keepitgoing · 28/05/2013 11:13

I always feel queasy in the evenings. What's that about, huh? One, it shouldn't be called Morning sickness. Two, I'm 13+4 - I shouldn't be feeling queasy at all! This is meant to be the 'glowing' stage.

:)

Keep I am still in denial apart from on here with you guys.

Any queasiness, more watery mouth, I have had is usually late morning or in the evenings. It seems worse if I am tired or hungry. I have learnt to eat my normal meal then a snack crisps between meals. I am really lucky as it hasn't been head down to loo situation at all. And I have never woken up with it even though overnight is the longest I go without food. Bizarre but I am not complaining.

I will stick to lemon and honey for now, having cold is rubbish as it make you feel so crap but everyone gets it so no sympathy. Does anyone know if I can put vick on to help my breathing?

cartoontrickster · 28/05/2013 11:48

just realised the massive x-post there!
my sickness is always evening too. morning sickness is a lie!
