OK, so a bit more detail - sorry for the rush yesterday, but I just wanted you all to know all was OK and not worry.

I was super nervous, and so relieved to hear the 'very strong' heartbeat by Doppler soon after we arrived. Dh made them do some extra blood tests and made sure all was done - v glad he was there. We then had to wait ages for the scan as the doc had an emergency. I had to send dh out for chocolate biscuits... Anyway, we were in there for 30 mins, as Kip wouldn't get in the right position to see the nasal bone. I had to jiggle around lots to try and move him/her around. Kip is v active, twisting, turning, waving. It was just brilliant. Then they did some 4D stuff at the end and gave us some lovely pictures. :)

The blood tests for Downs will take 1 or 2 weeks, but she said all physical markers are fine, and predicts all will be fine. So I think we'll tell good friends now...

I am really going to try and enjoy now, and not stress about the next step. I think I've been trying not to think of it as being a real baby yet, just a pregnancy if that makes sense. I had a moment of surrealness during the scan - I've imagined so many times. So many steps to get to here over these last few months...

Ooh, and Kip was measuring 13+6, at 13+1, so we may have us a tall baby...

Thank you all so so much for you support over the last too-long xxx

keepitgoing · 26/05/2013 03:18

Ooh, I have an anterior placenta, so guess I won't feel anything for a good while. Any other brookers?

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 26/05/2013 03:45

Ooh I didn't think it could move! Let's hope...

Sweetie how are the twins?

Face, are you doing ok? Have you told your mum? I know you're on the steroids, is it just a waiting game now?

Sparks, not long till 37 weeks. How are you feeling about it all? Will your mum come and stay after the birth?

Boo, lovely, hope all is still wonderful with your brood. Guess dh is back at work now?

We had a lovely evening at 80s tribute last night. It was a real throw back to our youth with Rik Astley, Belinda Carlisle, Fine Young Canibals and Go West. It was a really good evening but it did get a bit chilly later on. I was very proud of myself as I didn't really miss having a drink.

Keep twins I am still in denial are ok I think. I am counting down to 12 week scan when it might seem a bit more real. I know I am very lucky to be so symptomless but it is a bit of a worry, you worry if you do and you worry if you don't. I wish I could have a window in my tummy so I could see what is going on. I also got a pregnancy booklet from TAMBA which has put the fear of God into me shows how big a twins pregnancy tummy gets.

We are having a barbecue in the garden this afternoon which I am really looking forward to. DH says he is going to cook everything in the house before just finishing off on barbe.

Anyone else making the most of the glorious Bank Holiday weather?

cartoontrickster · 26/05/2013 13:11

keep wonderful news on your scan. have u announced to the world yet?
we've told both sets of parents and my bf I'll always tell them straight away for the support. after ny intial panic that this was just destined for failer and that I'd ruin our holiday by miscarrying whilst we are away I've calmed down a lot. no where near as nervous as last time. it seems a fair few ladies started their meds from bfp rather than ovulation and have been fine so I've stopped worrying about that, I'm doing all I can. touchwood no spotting or cramps so far. I've usually had some by now. the only time I hadn't was with my blighted ovum so me being the crazy person I am thinks its that again because I havent bleed. I'm sure there's been a faint Yukky sick feeling kicking in the past few days thoughSmile. not much longer to wait my scan is on Wed.

Don't cry Sparks I am sure it is only you that will notice and twinks won't care at all. I bet it looks lovely in the nursery. Are you pleased with it on the whole?

Try to get out and enjoy the sunshine, it will cheer you up - FACT!!!

Trix that is your new name I have decided, we can not keep calling you face time has to move on. I really feel for you counting down those days until Wed. I think it is wise to tell those closest to you as you need their support at this time. I have always told close family what we are going through so they can be there for us. Faint yukky sicky feeling is defo a good sign, even though we could do without it.

DreamingOfAFullNightsSleep · 26/05/2013 19:45

Gawd, I can't keep up on mn, not enough time! But always lovely to hear of good scans keep, sounds fab.

Are any of you on fb? Should go n check the names doc I suppose, but I find that easier. Shameful confession for mn I'm sure :) . I was vast BTW sweetie, but i carried big with dd, 96th centile bump and she was 7lb 5.5 a bit overdue....

SweetieTime · 26/05/2013 19:56

I can be found on the brooking fb group. have been loving the cute off.

Dream what about your DT? How many weeks were you when they arrived? What weight were they?

I know what will be will be but am just curious for any info I can get.

Well I think last night has caught up with me as I am feeling shattered this evening. So glad of the extra day off tomorrow.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 26/05/2013 20:13

Sparks a month ago I would have cried too and I'm sure they look fine.

Sweetie take it easy tonight and tomorrow, the gig looked really good though! I'm so excited about next weekend :):)

Dream I'm also on FB :) don't think I'm hard to spot with the latest brooking newbie :)

K has been a bit hard work today, I think she has my teen boo's cold, really blocked nose and has decided she needs to feed every hour to feel better, also must be with mummy at all times, hopefully she will feel better tomorrow.

OP posts:
SweetieTime · 26/05/2013 21:03

boo sorry to hear k is under the weather. hope she is a bit better tomorrow. excited about next Saturday too.

keepitgoing · 27/05/2013 02:59

What's happening next weekend?!

sparks that's so great you have family near by though is ten mins perhaps a bit TOO close... Both sets of parents'll be 3 hours+. But hey, that's better than now.

sweetie I think my tiredness got a bit better from about 10 weeks, though yesterday I was exhausted after my parents went, and did nothing. Have you any tummy yet? I have a slight high up rounding, but that's it, not noticeable with clothes on.

trix not long till Wednesday now! Will that be 7 weeks? You are doing so well at being calm x

We told our families after the 7 weeks scan. I am now thinking we might wait for the blood results before telling friends. Not sure why - we are obviously far away, I am nervous, I don't know.

DreamingOfAFullNightsSleep · 27/05/2013 09:16

sweetie I was very happy to get to term, 37+6. Dt1 6lb9, Dt2 5lb 10 . He stopped growing at the end, they'd been the same size the whole way through though a placental doppler said all was ok Hmm he's way bigger now than his brother but his brother is a vomiter :/ . Planned cs. My consultant said outcomes are far better at 38 weeks than 37 so I struggled on but found it very hard compared to my first pregnancy. Could put a bump pic on fb if you have any interest?!

Couldn't miss your beautiful baby boo Grin

Happy bank holiday ladies :) tis sunny here, hope you're as lucky.

Dream K is pretty darned cute ain't she :):)

Keep DH has been back at work for 2 weeks, it's going quite well, I was really worried about doing the school mornings but it is going quite well really.

Sparks looking forward to seeing your nursery pic. Your fur baby was beyond cute with its little paws and fluffyness :)

Next Saturday is the first brooking meet up for me and Sweetie, I can't wait! We should do an eastmeets west (Midlands) meet up too!

K seems better this morning, only fed twice (so far) and napping well.

OP posts:
keepitgoing · 27/05/2013 10:19

Sweetie/dream - this may be a silly question but do they/how do they keep track of which twin is which through pregnancy. Do they not move around too much and confuse things?

Ah, wish I could join you guys, and meet gorgeous K! Ooh sparks you'll have twinks by the time I move home and I'll get cuddles :)

SweetieTime · 27/05/2013 11:03

keep my nurse said T1 was nearest exit and T2 was the other one Hmm she also said at C section they may come out the other way around at the one nearest exit is bottom so usually brought out second. I am sure they know what they are on about. Maybe the position of the placenta is less likely to move so they use that as reference point. Dream will know I am sure.

Yes me and boo are having a meet up on Saturday. I am very excited to be meeting another real life brooker. We could do a midlands one when keep is back too.

boo glad lovely little k is a bit more settled today. Must be a worry for you when you know they just aren't right.

Sparks I am looking forward to nursery pictures too.

Dream I am a bit scared of twin bump pictures after the one in the Tamba booklet. Your DT were a great weight and well done for getting so far on. I will wait to see what my consultant says when we get that far.

I don't have a tummy, I keep asking DH if he thinks I have but no. I really hope all is ok as I am getting nervous that more should be happening. I think I am going to cave before 12weeks and pay for a private scan but I am holding out as long as possible. I haven't had any bleeding or anything so nothing to say anything is going wrong just all in my stupid head.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/05/2013 11:29

Of course you're worried Sweetie we have all had a complete breakdown before the 12 week scan and again before the 20 week too Blush I can't blame you for wanting private scan before though, I would have if I had thought of it.

OP posts:
keepitgoing · 27/05/2013 12:35

Yes, I think they're not all that expensive compared to ivf!! but see my post to gin on the other thread - odds are v good. Do a scan if you want, don't fret about that but the not-worrying won't last long. No reason for you to have a belly yet. Nearly 9 weeks! When are you stopping the progesterone? I stopped at 9 weeks exactly but I think most go on to twelve. X

cartoontrickster · 27/05/2013 13:27

keep don't be nervous about telling people I'm sure you'll be fine now. your virtually 14weeks now! besides don't they phone you pretty damn quick if you get a bad result? they did me, I knew like the next day. anyway what they could see looked great and measured big so I think you can relax your baby is coming! I think we will hide it for as long as possible this time. ill be 6+4 for ny scan I think, which I hope is ok. I was 6+6 last time so I hope those couple of days don't make a huge difference. I told the clinic my dates and that's when they wanted to see me so I guess they know what they're doing.
sweetie I would be so tempted by a private scan! I think they're a couple of hundred quid though! how are the symptoms coming along? will you show quicker with twins?
sparks glad you feel better about the curtains today I'm sure it all looks gorgeous. can you instragram a pic so I can have a nosey once its finished Grin .
boo pleased k is feeling better today.

hope everyones enjoying the bank holiday!
