boo so pleased you got home safe and sound

I have my Nhs scan tomorrow but am not stressed about it after last Monday s scan. The midwife said I should get to see the twins consultant at the same appointment. I will wait to see what happens as I am not convinced until it happens.

Sparks how are you doing my dear. hope you are ok

Oh sparks you poor thing. I reckon you psych yourself up for the due date and then it must be mega hard to go over. Like if you're told to do 50 sit ups as if and then when you get to 50 you're told to do another 10. But you're now three days over, and isn't there a limit before they'll induce you? So it won't be more than a few days till you get to meet him, even if that feels like ages. Don't worry about avoiding other people - they'll live. Just do whatever makes it the easiest for you and SMACK that RAT

solars how are your bloods getting on - you must feel like you're forever at that clinic. I think you're 6 weeks tomorrow, so I'd think you can get a scan from wednesday-ish. How exciting. I wonder if it's triplets twins... Has it sunk in yet, or are you just waiting for the scan? Who have you told?

trix have a brilliant time on holiday

sweetie have fun at your scan today, how lovely to get to see the twins again so soon. I hope you get to see the consultant as well. I wouldn't know what to ask at this stage, given I've not spoken to anyone about the birth yet since I won't be here. I guess when they'd want you to deliver by, natural vs CS, what extra care you'll get during pregnancy. I expect they'll lead the conversation though.

I'm currently trying to get used to not sleeping on my back or tummy. I'm normally a tummy girl, but it's starting to get a little uncomfy. I am trying to use pillows and go on the side, but keep rolling on to my back. I know I have a couple of weeks till they say it's necessary, but I'm just trying to get used to it.

4 weeks today and we fly home - yay!

SweetieTime · 24/06/2013 08:04

{{{hugs}}} Sparks you sound really down. Can you arrange to do anything really nice over the next few days? How about an afternoon tea somewhere or even loads of girly magazine and a big box of maltesers? When are you being seen next?

Keep 4 weeks will fly by I bet you are really excited apart from leaving the maid behind
I have been thinking about the sleeping position thing too as I sleep on my tummy. It is still ok at the moment, when are you supposed to stop laying on your back too? as this is my alternative position.

keepitgoing · 24/06/2013 08:11

I've read 20 weeks, though may be sooner for you with the two of them. Are you going to find out the sexes? We aren't...

Yes, am v excited. Can't wait!!

TheLittleFriend · 24/06/2013 09:56

Sweetie, enjoy your scan today. I'd love a Peugeot 2008, but I think we'll be joining the masses and getting a second hand zafira soon.

Sparks, hugs to you. Going overdue is utterly rubbish. I remember the feeling of every minute lasting an hour. I think spending the entire time on the sofa or in bed is the only way to survive it xx

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 24/06/2013 10:01

I have a Zafira and apart from a few wear and tear bits and pieces (and yesterday's break down which was just a loose wire, easily fixed) I love it!

Sweetie enjoy your scan :):)

Sparks {{{{{hugs}}}}} thinking of you, over due is bloody awful!!!!

cartoontrickster · 24/06/2013 14:28

sweetie have you had your scan yet? bet it was Lovely to see the twins again!
I'm booked in for my 12week nuchal scan on Fri 5th July the day after we get back from holiday which is good.
I'm having a private scan at a local clinic tomorrow evening so I can go on holiday feeling reassured and happy. its a damn site cheaper than my usual private clinic too.

Solars · 24/06/2013 15:31

Face I didn't realise you had a scan recently, great news you saw a wriggle and brooking for your next scan tomorrow, hope you get to see more wriggles!

Thinking of you too Sparkes

Sweetie another scan or you too, good luck x

Keep bloods are doing really good, today's hcg is around 21,000! I've been told to come in on Wednesday for a scan where hopefully we'll see at least a heart beat, I'll be 6 +1 then. It's slowly sinking in a little but I'll feel a bit more relaxed on Wednesday I think. I feel both nervous and excited and thankfully DH can come with me too. We have told parents and siblings but that's because they knew we were going through ivf anyway. Plus DH in his excitement has told one of his friends.

keepitgoing · 24/06/2013 15:57

That's great solars. Remember, 6+1 is still early for a hb, so don't panic if they can't find it. Glad dh can go with you, its v exciting as well as bloody nervewracking...

keepitgoing · 24/06/2013 15:59

Continues the dance.

cartoontrickster · 24/06/2013 17:49

solars I had a scan at 6+3 and saw the heartbeat but it was hard to puck up the sound to hear it, it was very crackly.
yes I have lots of scans! I've juat booked a local one tommorrow as thurs and Fri I'd noticed a tiny bit of Brown mucus so I wanted to check everything was fine before going on hol. it was prob caused by dtd on Wed eve tbh Blush but I can't help worrying. then with normal NHS scans, extra NHS scans because I've had 3 mcs and my usual private clinic I get scanned at least every 2 weeks at the moment. when I get back from hol I expect to have 3 scans quite close together because everyone wants to see me! you'll be bored of my scan updates before long!

SweetieTime · 24/06/2013 19:38

Solars I will be Brooking my socks off that you can see the hb at your scan on Wed. Is that it then will you be discharged from the clinic?

Trix good luck with your scan too, and hopefully you can enjoy a lovely relaxing hollibobs. My nurse warned me that DTD could cause spotting and not to be too concerned unless it continued.

I am so relieved we had our private NT scan as they couldn't get a NT measurement for both twins at our NHS scan today. We were scanned for about 40 minutes then got 15 minute break before one twin could be measured but no luck at all with the other twin. They wanted me to go back next week but I told them we had already had the screening so they just made a note of the results. The consultant didn't have much to say really, she just wanted me to have bloods done. I will be scanned again at 20 week and then every 4 weeks after that. So that is a good thing. DH wants us to go for our 20 week scan at the same place we had our NT screening done. He thought they were more efficient and the scan equipment gave better images. I am happy to go along with that too.

cartoontrickster · 24/06/2013 19:58

sweetie I always thought that private clinics always advice to have the NHS scan too and not to use it as a replacement. with my local hospital being so funny about my private treatment and scans I don't think they would accept it if I gave them the results of a private scan. sorry if I sound like I'm having a go, I'm not just curious that they didn't force you to make another appointment. I do think though that the private clinics are usually better anyway, had the NHS not been able to do mine on the exact day I wanted it on I also wouldve booked a private one.

SweetieTime · 24/06/2013 20:07

Trix you don't sound like you are having a go at all. It is just another strange difference between different places. Our NHS place said where we went for our private test was actually more accurate than what the NHS test for as it tests for more factors. They were very happy to take their results. In fact they were a bit funny that we hadn't mentioned it earlier. Just goes to show how different they are.

cartoontrickster · 24/06/2013 20:18

oh really. im glad that you've got such a good clinic you can go to. my private consultant doesnt do nt scans and I have no idea on the reputation of this local one I'm going to tomorrow, they perform all types of scan there. I'm pleased you had it done already its saving you a lot of stress now. it would be an awful wait having to go back for a second scan.

Evening brookers!

Glad scan was good sweetie and that all measurements now accounted for. I must confess I didn't have the blood tests or NT for DD or DS but I did have to return 3 times for one of the scans due to baby spinning on its head!

trix brooking for yours tomorrow. Enjoy your holiday!

sparks hoping it doesn't get to that stage too! Hopefully today's sweep was good and vigorous! My consultant did one without telling me for DS, it was kind of a 'well, while I'm in here......' Cheeky!,

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 24/06/2013 20:55

Ooh Sparks Brooking like a crazy woman that he comes soon. X

sparks I'm sure it won't get to that stage. try and enjoy your last few days of calm and quiet, he'll be here before you know it. hurry up though twinks so we can find out your name!
I see what you mean about the scans.
sweetie will you find out the sexes? any thoughts on names? you too keep?

cartoontrickster · 24/06/2013 21:02

thanks munx I'm sure all will be fine I'm looking forward to having another look!

Munxx · 24/06/2013 21:05

Yep that's pretty much what she did too! I was a bit different as she did the sweep when I was 37+5 as I was induced at exactly 38 weeks, but DS was a very straightforward birth despite being induced. Pessary in 11 am, things kicked off 10am next day, waters broken 3pm DS born 3.5 hours later. Very different to DD but she wasn't a brooking baby you see!

Point is, IF I goes to induction (which I'm brooking it won't) you can still sneeze twink out!

My SIL had a sweep at 39 weeks and gave birth the next day ;)

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 24/06/2013 21:19

My induction was very fast too and I didn't have a lovely favourable cervix and was only 1cm. I don't thing it will come to it though, the sweep WILL get twinks moving, I'm Brooking no bloody argument for you!
