MrsGSR · 20/05/2013 22:36

Haha, yeah there might be two! I think the chances are very unlikely (even with increased hormones) as I'm quite young, but we'll see tomorrow! Thanks for all the good luck messages!

FidgetPie · 20/05/2013 22:50

Hello ladies

I am new to the thread. I have recently found out I am about 7 weeks pregnant. I have had an early scan as was going through fertility treatment (clomid after TTC for a couple of years) and we saw a heartbeat, so it is gradually sinking in that we might actually have done it!

I feel quite rough - which although horrid is quite reassuring. I can't wait for the 12 week scan - maybe it will feel real then!

Really sorry to those who have already had bad news.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 20/05/2013 23:01

extra so glad to hear scan went well

gingy fx for 3rd June being good news.

half as others have said, I do hope your next pregnancy is worry free, and I'm really sorry for your loss.

MTB so sorry this has been the outcome. I hope you're okay.

MrsAVB sorry you're so vommy, and I hope your job decision was the right one and you're happy.

sultanajo Dad was over the moon - thank you!

MrsGSR fx for you tomorrow (kinda hoping it is twins! - although maybe you might feel differently!)

Toby they really are DISGUSTING. I tried one the other day and the weird taste and texture was so much worse than heartburn. Utterly vile. I might try the liquid. I am gagging remembering them on my teeth gah.

chocoloulou33 · 20/05/2013 23:02

Good luck for your scan 2moro mrsg let us know as soon as you can :) also good luck to anyone else that may be having an early scan, so many people on here now I cant keep up lol x
Oh & welcome fidgit congrats on your bfp after waiting so long xx

TobyLerone · 20/05/2013 23:06

I thought the tablets would be more bearable than the liquid. How wrong I was! Spearmint Rennies are good for heartburn and don't taste too nasty at all, but I don't think they're hardcore enough for this pain.

LittlePeaPod · 21/05/2013 06:34

Frizz1986 · 21/05/2013 07:18

Good luck for all the scans today. Fx crossed all is well.

Def think ms has arrived. Felt sick all night and cant stand the thought of any food at all (am normally a total foodie) so have no idea what I am going to be able to eat today!
Dh also told me i look exhausted this morning so guess my tiredness is now starting to show.

Welcome to any new bfps!

TobyLerone · 21/05/2013 07:25

Hope today goes really quickly for you, pod.

Sorry you're feeling rough, frizz.

Sultanajo · 21/05/2013 07:35

OMG Toby and Humpty just the thought of the Gaviscon liquid has me gagging and retching! Blergh! Not just the taste but the slimey texture! I have ended up on Orange flavour Rennie's which are pretty vile but take the edge off so I can get to sleep. Have a feeling I may have to swap flavours soon....

Good luck today Mrs GSR will be thinking of you!

Pod really really hope today passes quickly for you! Will be such a relief to get past this milestone!!! Thinking of you xxx

Sultanajo · 21/05/2013 07:37

Frizz definitely sounds as though you have joined the nausea train! Poor you! It sucks but will all be worth it (that's my mantra and I am sticking with it)! Smile

Pod I am with you on the food aversions and force feeding. Weirdly the one thing I am managing at the moment is crunchy peanut butter sandwiches and ham and cheese toasties. Not sure how long I will be on them for, but I think the fact that neither has a strong smell helps!

Sultanajo · 21/05/2013 07:38

Meant to say congratulations and welcome to all the newbies!!! Flowers

Sultanajo · 21/05/2013 07:41

Sarah it's really normal to worry (at least I hope it is because 75% of my day is spent partaking in that activity!) Wink Hope you are feeling more positive again today.

MrsVDB · 21/05/2013 07:47

So I'm still off with food poisoning, boss is getting grumpy but don't want to tell him yet as need a promotion before maternity leave!

I've got awful cramps and thought it might be wind so sent husband to chemist to get rennie deflatine which I read you can take when pregnant. Pharmacist said no I shouldn't take anything so been sticking this out with only diaralyte. :(

With regards to early scans we had one last time and mc a few days later but was really nice having seen the heartbeat and got a few pics. Will definitely be paying for it this time

Hope everyone gets good news today

bubbatime · 21/05/2013 07:48

Hello ! Can I join in? Have been lurking a little. Am5 +5 so due 16 jan. can I ask you when you phoned the dr/ midwife for a booking in apt? I was trying to hold off til 6weeks but it would be good to get a wee job ticked off the list today!

MrsGSR · 21/05/2013 08:13

Welcome Fidget hope you start to feel better soon!

Humpty I would quite like twins! I enjoy chaos!

Pod I hope today goes really quickly, and I hope tomorrow gets here soo for Sultanajo!

Frizz :( I hope the ms isn't too bad. I'm feeling a little sick this morning but I think it might just be nerves!

MrsVDB Hope your feeling better soon too :)

and welcome bubba!

I've been wandering around the house aimlessly since about 6am, I just don't know what to do with myself!

MrsGSR · 21/05/2013 08:13

*soon, not soo lol

MrsGSR · 21/05/2013 08:15

I miss your question bubba I went to the doctors as soon as I found out, but all she did was fill out a form so I could get a midwifes appiontment, which isn't until next month, so it wouldn't have mattered if I had waited. If your not sure ring up the surgery and ask what they would like you to do :)

rhoscolyn · 21/05/2013 08:22

Hello Ladies. Can I say hi? I am going to be an older mum thats starting all over again.
Been reading and lurking but would love to join your happy community!

extracrunchy · 21/05/2013 08:25

I think most GPs just refer you to midwives who usually get you booked in by 10 weeks latest.

I am. So. Tired.

MrsVDB · 21/05/2013 08:37

I called up and was told gp won't see me until week 6 but as others have said don't think much happens until week 10 anyway so no rush

gemma277 · 21/05/2013 08:44

Welcome all the newbies!

Good luck for your scan today MrsGSR I am sooooo excited for you I cant imagine how your feelingGrin

Bubba, we have exactly the same dates! Im due on the 16th jan! I still havnt seen the GP but then its baby n2 for me. All they do is refer you to the midwife who wont see you before 8 weeks, so as long as its before then. This week is sooo crazy for me I plan to do it at the end of next week but you can do it anytime really.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 21/05/2013 08:57

Hello newbies, and congratulations!

I am so tired and sicky today I've taken the day off work. I just can't face it. Sounds insensitive to the vommy ladies, but I wish I could just vom and get rid of the nausea... It's so grim.

For those asking what to do - I saw GP at 5 weeks, still waiting to hear about booking-in appointment, but in shitty Newham, it's not usually until about 11-12 weeks because Newham is the worst place in the whole universe, including for antenatal care.

bluecarrot · 21/05/2013 09:20

Morning ladies. Thinking about you and your scan today MrsG!

I'm struggling with food ( very not like me!) I make something then literally as I lift it to my mouth I change my mind and feel repulsed by it! I think it's partly the smell so I'm trying to eat things that don't smell of anything. BUT my nose is so sensitive ATM that its not really possible to avoid.

Body odour is particularly bad ( not me, my DP and moody pre-teen daughter) I had a full on rant about personal hygiene this am. Then I cried.

Going out to work in the garden today but think ill double up on the gloves and bring compost able bags to lift the neighbours cats poo :( thankfully only in flower bed as far as I can tell ATM. Need to get salad stuff planted today.

MrsAVB · 21/05/2013 09:24

Morning all!
Thanks for your kind words re. my job decision. It does feel like the right thing to do, as my current job is fairly undemanding, which has pros and cons but mainly pros when it comes to being pg and looking after a baby! I think yesterday was the worst vomming day to date. My tummy muscles ache from all the retching Sad.
MTB lots of love and luck for the future, so sorry this bean wasn't sticky.
sarah I am another one holding out til the 12 week scan, but my appointment came through really early so I think actually having a date helps with the wait.
Welcome and congrats mullin, toothfairy, fidget, bubba and rhos. bubba it seems to be different depending in where you are but I saw my GP straight after I got 2 BFPs. She did forms etc with me and appointment letters for booking appointment and 12 week scan came through about a week later.
toby I'm with you on the beige foods. I seem to have turned into a fussy teenager who only likes processed beige stuff. It's weird cos I'm usually really healthy but fruit and veg just don't appeal at the moment. Am going to try not to worry about it too much; taking vits every day and still losing weight (but not enough to be a worry).
humpty glad you got a lovely reaction from your dad. Can't wait for telling the parents now, but going to wait til after the scan. So sorry you're feeling bad today. I felt awful about pulling a sicky last week but an extra day resting did the trick. And the nausea feels just as bad as the actual vomming in my experience. I recommend a blanket on the sofa, and some rom coms.
frizz, FX your morning sickness isn't too bad.. X
pod hope today flies. I passed one of my mc dates last week and have another on Friday, will feel loads better once its passed.
sultana PB on toast is a favourite for me at the moment too...
mrsv get well soon!
mrsg good luck for today! Will be thinking of you, give us an update when you can!

fryingpantoface · 21/05/2013 09:28

Morning all! Welcome to the newbies!

I went to bed early last night, but couldn't sleep until 11 anyway, even though I was shattered.
we ate having an early scan so that if something happens I can have a picture, proof to myself a baby was here. We didn't get one with the last one as the baby had already gone. It was pretty traumatic.

This morning I'm waiting for the broadband man, after being in our house for three weeks we'll finally get internet. I can't wait. It does mean I'm stuck waiting in until half twoish.

I really want a pasta and prawn salad for lunch, definitely want one. Apparently though prawns are out :(
