I'm back with semi good news.

I had an internal scan which showed the pregnancy sac but was measuring v small but no obviously reason for the bleeding. MW who did the scan got a registrar to have a look and he said most likely my dates are out so had blood taken to check hcg levels and will have then redone Friday morning. They would expect the levels to have doubled in that time. If they have doubled then I won't be seen until my booking in appointment on 31st May, if they haven't I'll go back for another internal scan a week on Friday.

I'm trying to take some comfort from the fact the sac was intact but I guess it's a case of wait and see.

I ended up telling my boss everything this morning. Kind of had to as I was in a bit of a state after discovering the bleed while at the office! But she was lovely and has said I could work from home the rest of the day which is very sweet of her.

Thanks for all your lovely messages by the way. In my emotional state it made me all teary Flowers

Sultanajo · 15/05/2013 13:48

Well I have caved after saying I wouldn't be having a private scan and have booked one for next week when hopefully will be 8 weeks. Can't stand it any longer with having the second lot of spotting. Just need to know! Want to wait until next week though if I can so I can hopefully see more....Am also seriously considering one at 10 weeks too if it's all OK at 8 weeks as last time it all went wrong at 9 weeks and I didn't find out until the 12 week scan, so I want to be sure I have at least got past that next milestone...

Pea I asked if they did deals but she said only ones that included a 4D scan. Certainly won't be having those - they freak me out! So will be paying full price for two, but to be honest I don't care about cost right now - if it means I can't go anywhere for the next month because I have used my petrol money for the scans then so be it! Feeling a tiny bit calmer now have booked something, but know this week is gonna drag now... Note to self - must stop whinging!

Sultanajo · 15/05/2013 13:51

Oh Sunny - huge hugs! The waiting is always the worst part. We are all here to hold your hand through this and feel free to unload. How lovely of your boss to be so understanding and let you work from home the rest of the day. Will start crossing my toes for you too...Flowers xxx

MrsAVB · 15/05/2013 14:01

Hugs sunny, am glad you have been somewhat reassured and that you don't have to wait too long for the next steps.
humpty yes it was me. Whereabouts in London is your instructor? If SE I'd like a recommendation!
Do any of you married ladies have any experience of applying for provisional license when passport is in maiden name? DVLA are being arses.
X

chocoloulou33 · 15/05/2013 14:09

sunny that's rly good news then I would say. The fact theey can see sac & no obvious place for bleeding. Just having bloods & waiting then, how annoying for u but u need that reassurance that all is ok xx
sultanajo how is your spotting now? Mine seems to have eased off a bit (fx) glad u got a scan to look forward too.
Talking of early scans aarrghhhh. Just had a call from hospital, they have received my gp's letter about my history & they are giving me an early scan!! On monday! Eek! I'll only be exactly 7 weeks. Will they be able to see much? Am excited but also nervous x

LittlePeaPod · 15/05/2013 14:11

Sunny glad you had some good news and FX hug levels double. [Flowers]

Sultanajo I am with you. I booked my scans for very similar reasons and I just want to know. Who did you book with? My 4 scan package doesn't include 4D scans. Its the reassurance package. Can send link when I get home if you like? BTW, you are not whining. [Smile]

We'll be finding out the sex, and to be honest it this one is anything like DD, it'll be lying with it's legs open and there will be no way not to know :-)

We're split, on one hand we'd prefer a girl as we already have girl stuff, on the other we'd like a boy so we'd have one of each. To be honest, as long as it doesn't get my toes or DP's nose - we'll be happy :-)

LittlePeaPod · 15/05/2013 14:13

Chocco33 the place I am going to told me you can see a heart beat at 7 weeks. How exciting.

TobyLerone · 15/05/2013 14:16

Hope you're feeling a bit reassured, sunny.

sultana, I think we're going to have one in between next week's and 12 weeks. I didn't get a deal either :( mine only does the 3D/4D packages and I also think they're creepy! DH really wants one, though, so I suppose I'll have to get over it :o

LittlePeaPod · 15/05/2013 14:27

Sultanajo & Toby this is the place I am going to. If you go to the bottom, under this is my baby you will see all the packages the offer. Not sure if this place is where you are. I am going to Leeds. My SIL used them for first baby and the one she is carrying now. she highly recommended them.

Choco - yes, the last time I checked (after the previous 50 times) it had indeed eased thankfully - am hoping it isn't lulling me into a false sense of security!!! Now have a really sharp pain high up on the left - am hoping it's something like trapped wind, but of course I am imagining all the horrible things it could be! Smile I have never been a hypochondriac but really feel as though I am turning into one... Confused

Pea I am a bit far from you in Hampshire, but thanks very much for the offer of a link. Wink They did say if I decided to have any more there may be potential for a discount - am hoping I won't need to, but never say never!

Sultanajo · 15/05/2013 14:32

MTB that made me laugh! I am actually hoping for the opposite, that it gets DH's nose and my toes!!!

Toby well you never know, you may get converted to the 3D/4D scans once you have seen your own??? Wink

TobyLerone · 15/05/2013 14:35

It's the only one I'll ever have, so it doesn't really matter! :o

chocoloulou33 · 15/05/2013 14:49

raaaaaaggghhhhh well scrap my last post as just had another call from hospital & they've just my notes & think I may be too early for scan. Nooooooooooo!!! So they've cancellled it & told me I'll hear from them in a few days of what to do next :( soo gutted. Was rly looking forward to it x

Foodylicious · 15/05/2013 14:52

oh choco thats pants! they matbe shouldn't have called you until they had figured out what was next instead, leaving you in limbo does not seem fair Sad

Mythreeknights · 15/05/2013 14:54

Bad luck chocolou that's a pain in the neck - but surely it means they don't consider your spotting to be risky or bad? (I am still spotting myself but slightly less so today)

gemma277 · 15/05/2013 14:57

Sunny hope you feel better now your more at ease.
MTB we are like you, have DD so everything pink and just moved in to a two bedroom house in central London( what a nightmare! Im not moving again any time soon, thats for sure) so they will have to share a room which is pink mania so it would be easier to have a girl but then nice to have one of each, and redecorate Confused. But not that bothered really. Lol sultana too whats our obsession with toes and noses. I want them to have my noes and DH toes Wink.
AVB i think you can just send marriage certificate? Not sure tho...

LittlePeaPod · 15/05/2013 14:59

Oh Chocco33 FFS and how frastrating. Sorry to hear that.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 15/05/2013 15:28

MrsAVB he's not SE London based, but I think he'd travel? He's with AA, but I'd contact him directly if I were you (some of their instructors are DREADFUL - barely speak English). Re provisional, can't help, as applied in my maiden name (didn't change).

sunny glad to hear it's good, if not quite totally reassuring news.

chocolou sorry to hear about your scan, that sucks. How far along are you?

I want bean to have DH's athletic tendencies although he is not athletic right now more lovely cuddly and my analytic brain. Don't care what s/he looks like, as long as s/he gets good teeth, neither of us have them and they are the bane of my life. I am choffing milk and yoghurt like nothing else! Grin

Sultanajo · 15/05/2013 15:32

Chocco that's such a tease! Really mean! Hope they come back to you ASAP with another date!

MTBMummy · 15/05/2013 15:40

Out of curiosity - is everyone planning on having anyone other than their DP at the birth?

It came up week before last, when we didn't know I was pg, and DP mentioned he wasn't that bothered about being there this time round, and I had said I would love my sister to be there, so now we've asked her and she's going to be my birth partner, she doesn't have kids of her own, but was the first person beside DP to meet DD when she arrived. Im so happy she wants to do it and it's given her something to be excited about, she's been suffering with depression and she said this has given her a little light at the end of the tunnel

MTBMummy · 15/05/2013 15:40

Choco - that's just so frustrating! I do hope they get you another scan booked soon

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 15/05/2013 16:02

MTB not sure - I used to always say i didn't want DH in the room, then sort of said I might like him there but at the head end - he was a bit Confused and I'm not sure he wants to, tbh. I think I might have my Mum instead. She's done it twice before, after all!

Foodylicious · 15/05/2013 16:06

MTB oh, thats interesting. I think it will be just me and DP, I like the idea of sharing it with my sisters and if i had a 'different' DP then I probably would ask one of them. This is our first and I quite want to share it with just him. Though I reserve the right to change my mind at the time and demand someone else if he is rubbish! (sure he will be fine though, he puts up with me pretty well Wink)

MrsGSR · 15/05/2013 16:11

My DH wants to be there, but he's in the army so we can never plan that far in advance! MIL and my sister would both love to be there to, and are both planning to come up and stay with us for a few weeks after the birth which will be nice.
