Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

So I'm sitting on the ward, pessary has been inserted, no going back now! (Well no going back a long time ago!) I have to stay attatched to the monitor, to get a continuous reading of baby, but the little bugger angel keeps moving and loosing contact! So a 20minute process has taken well over an hour!! I just want to get up and go for a stroll/eat! Luckily dh is allowed to stay (I'm rubbish with hospitals and panic when left!)
Arlandria- hope alls going well with you, and cycle I'm sure Nye will get the hang of it soon enough!

forgetmenots · 23/05/2013 20:12

Good luck Maisie, massagegirl and arlandria - cycle I'm really pleased to hear you've got a room :)

Very exciting, can't wait to hear news of all these bundles :)

Hawkmoth · 23/05/2013 20:39

Frustrating day today. Saw GP, BP at 135/95, ++protein on urine. Big panic, off up to hospital dumping DS with my mum... BP 120/70 and urine clear Hmm. Didn't get home for six bloody hours due to changeover and them trying to do a trace at baby's busiest time (a MW turned the monitor to silent because it was moving so much). Blood results all fine as well... I'm just knackered now.

Good luck to those having inductions. I did see a tiny wee baby covered in vernix today with his or her shell-shocked parents... Managed not to cry!

Steffanoid · 23/05/2013 20:54

hawkmoth it's always the same way isn't it, one of my arms usually gives a higher reading than the other with the electronic machine and both are loads lower with the manual pump!

I have just had a stern telling off from my mum because I didn't text back while I was having a nap Hmm my oh goes out till half 8 on a Thursday from about half 5 and because it's peaceful and I dont have afternoon naps I usually fall asleep, woke up to a text and whatsapp from mum on my mobile and the house phone died cause I left it off tge hook, she also texted dp panicking I was in labour and forgot to tell her cause she is coming to get the dog when it happens, so she was really panicked.

doesn't help that we were talking about the dog earlier, he's been acting weird with me today, I'd read about dogs acting unusual when they can sense pregnancy bit late but also when labour is imminent, long story short the dog has been acting not like himself today so I bet she's really sat in her living room clutching her keys just incase things start. knowing my luck I'll be the one that goes to 40+10!

AmIGoingMad · 23/05/2013 21:31

Hawkmoth that's a huge difference in blood pressures isn't it? Did the midwife get it wrong earlier on in the day?! Good that you've had a proper check up tho even if its been a frustrating few hours for you!

Cycle it sounds like Nye is doing so much better now! Glad you're able to be back there with him again now Smile

Good luck arlandria, Maisie and massagegirl! It's great that your DH is allowed to stay Maisie. Mine was sent home reluctantly last time around and I would've loved him to be able to stay.

Mrsbri- forgot to ask earlier how the itching is now?

Sarah- are you back to feeling human now? I hope so.

Aloha- yes the pointy bump! Mines doing weird things at the moment. It's been nice and rounded all along but lately its like an egg with pointy bit at the bottom- but the point shifts to one side or the other during the night depending on which way I've been laying in the lead up to that toilet stop. I also have a bumpy bit at the bottom of the bump which is sometimes hard and feels like baby poking something out, and sometimes soft. Midwife didn't seem bothered on tues but its freaking me out! Anyone else or am I a freak of nature?!

Hawkmoth · 23/05/2013 21:46

They used a large cuff at the hospital... Fat arms! Seems the machines at the GP do read higher generally. Like my mum said, can't help but wonder about all the other patients!

MrsBri · 24/05/2013 01:21

Cycle, good that you've got a room again :-) Hopefully Nye will get to grips with demand feeding soon.

AmI, the itching is coming and going a bit. I've not made myself bleed again while scratching though, which is good. Considering I'm now on Piriton, my hay fever is worse and I'm struggling to breathe. Odd!

And I can't imagine your hard / soft bit :-/ I'm sure you're not a freak of nature though!

arlandria666 · 24/05/2013 02:09

Currently sat on the ward looking at my beautiful son :-D
Things didn't go great today :-( baby didn't like being induced and when monitored at 8 heart rate all over the place got moved back on to labour suite for closer monitoring propess removed and he still wasn't happy had emergency section he was born at 11.42 dinky 5lb 10 but screaming his head off! Full head of dark hair and has been on the boob already! I am still in shock and trying to recover!
How's Masie?

AmIGoingMad · 24/05/2013 02:19

My bump is freaking me out and I just lost a post' grrr! I went to bed with bump visibly bulging at bottom left. Slept on right side for a bit and got up for loo and its bulging on right at the bottom now! Going to sleep on left now and bet it'll change again. Midwife said baby was head down and engaged on tues. this didn't happen last time and is freaking me out Hmm

AmIGoingMad · 24/05/2013 02:22

Oo arlandria congratulations on your little boy! Sounds like you've had a stressful time of it but that all's ended well thank goodness! Have a lovely first night cuddled up with your son! Well done you!Smile

MrsBri · 24/05/2013 03:13

Congratulations, Arlandria. Shame it didn't quite go to plan, but at least your little boy arrived safely.

AmI, babies can get into all sorts of odd positions, so it's probably nothing to worry about. :-)

Steffanoid · 24/05/2013 03:16

arlandria congrats, such a teeny boy, no wonder he found his food source already!

amI do you think maybe it could be a shoulder moving side to side? I wouldn't worry, it'll just be some absolutely normal baby quirk Smile

no word from maisie

massagegirl · 24/05/2013 05:38

Congratulations arlandria. I'm in this morning for induction as labour hasn't really started since waters broke. Was warned by dr yesterday that I'll be straight on drip with no build up to contractions, just hard and fast eek. Shame as we had honebirth planned but at least we got to splash in the pool a few times, happy healthy baby is all that matters. Good luck everyone else. So surreal!

MadameJ · 24/05/2013 06:19

Congratulations Alandria, hope your both doing well x

MadameJ · 24/05/2013 06:39

Good luck Massagegirl, hope it all goes well for you x

maisiebeem · 24/05/2013 06:47

Congratulations Arlandria must be such an amazing feeling holding your little boy! Has he got a name yet?
I'm still on te ward with the pessary in, the lady in te bay next to me is contracting quite abit (and had her pessary put in minutes before mine!) so I'm slightly jealous of her!)
Although I was telling everyone that I knew being induced could take a long time- deep down I was thinking It might be a quicker process! So long day ahead of me now, and If the pessary doesn't get labour going, they don't try anything else till tomorrow morning! Joy! I just want to meet my baby!!!
Massage, hope everything goes well today, it's good you had a bit of a splash around!
Hope everyone else is well too!

massagegirl · 24/05/2013 07:18

Good luck Maisie! Hope it all starts for you soon x x

pinkapples · 24/05/2013 07:19

Congratulations arlandria I hope
You have a great day with your baby sorry things weren't easy but like someone said at least he's happy and healthy now Grin

Good luck today Maisie keep us updated

And anyone else with impending births so exciting!

MrsBri · 24/05/2013 07:39

Good luck today Maisie and massagegirl. :-)

AlohaMama · 24/05/2013 07:59

Congratulations arlandria - sorry the birth wasn't quite what you hoped for but glad to hear you're both doing well and that he's getting on with feeding OK. Does he have a name yet?

Good luck Maisie and massage girl, hope its not too long a wait.

Interesting sounding bump AmI. Can you work out what part of the baby is where?

learnermummy · 24/05/2013 08:01

Congratulations arlandria GrinGrinGrin

arlandria666 · 24/05/2013 08:35

We've called him Elliott i can't stop looking at him i still haven't slept so imagine i am going to go with a crash soon!
Masie i expected it to be quicker even tiny had read that it can take ages but when the pains did start coming i knew about it!
Good luck today hope we have more babies today x

forgetmenots · 24/05/2013 08:38

Congratulations Arlandria on the birth of Elliott - a lovely name :)

Good luck Maisie....!

SunnyL · 24/05/2013 09:48

Congratulations Arlandria. Lovely name too.

Good luck Masie and any others being induced at the mo.

Just back from my 38 week appointment. I have a naughty baby. After sitting in the perfect position for the last 6 weeks the little bugger has turned back to back. I've not had any back ache but been advised to go get a gym ball and sit on hardbacked chairs and crawl around the floor on my hands and knees. Feck. I've been enjoying my time slobbing on the sofa taking the weight off my varicose veins but I'll do it because I really really don't want a back to back birth do I?

MrsBri · 24/05/2013 09:52

That's a lovely name, Arlandria. :-)

Sunny, it's not ideal to have back to back. It can lead to a long latent labour too. On the ball for you!

They do often turn in labour, however.

I'll have to get on mine again later to encourage engagement.

Naughty babies all round. :-/
