Thanks everyone it was awful but chilled today done nothing but sit on the sofa with her. We have a thing coming out in the paper this week and we have circulated to all the dog walkers we know so fingers crossed

pinkapples · 29/05/2013 13:31

And to add to it baby is going mad today probably paying me for last nights escapade

learnermummy · 29/05/2013 13:34

Hurrah. Just spoken to midwife and they're not going to advise against the home birth. I just have to be aware that if I have a big blood loss and need transferred to hospital that they can't guarantee how quick the ambulance would get here. She's told me to take the iron tablets and the spatone, drink orange juice with every meal and up the red meat/brocolli/spinach as everyone suggested. Going to recheck the levels after 2 weeks (when I'll be nearly 39 weeks anyway).

AmIGoingMad · 29/05/2013 13:37

That's great learner! Really glad they're being sensible and backing you!

Glad you're feeling a bit better too pink!

forgetmenots · 29/05/2013 14:39

AmI - I'm following your name thread with interest! Have you got a boy's name picked? Your choices are lovely but there's a clear 'winner' for me :)

Steffanoid · 29/05/2013 14:46

glad everyone's days are going ok, me and tge dig are sitting watching pitch perfect after sister act this morning,
thinking good thoughts about getting baby m to make an appearance, got backache and hoping these thoughts will get things started Smile

MrsBri · 29/05/2013 14:50

Forget, your acrobat is a little bugger! I've a feeling mine will still be free at my appointment on Monday too. We shall see!

He's not done much playing today as I've been busy shopping / cooking. Just sitting down now as my back and bump ache :-/ I still have 2 lots of meals to cook too, but the meat isn't quite defrosted, so I may hang on til tomorrow now as I'm quite tired.

We do now have chilli, bolognaise, shepherd's pie and sweet and sour chicken cooked. Just sausage casserole and sweet and sour pork to go now and our little freezer will be full! At least it'll make life easier for the first couple of weeks post-birth.

Pink, I'm glad your poor pooch is recovering from its ordeal. I hope you find the owner of the other dog.

Learner, that's great news re your home birth too. :-)

forgetmenots · 29/05/2013 14:58

Definitely is, MrsBri, I was so convinced I was going to be early too... Clock is ticking! You're doing well with the batch cooking, my attempts have been pretty minimal so far!

Great news learnermummy :)

Hawkmoth · 29/05/2013 15:10

Ikea was a silly idea. In bed now. Consoling myself with the notion that the walking, gravity and subsequent downward motion of baby might have taken a day or two off the pregnancy! Oww.

Taking DH out for lunch on his birthday, just feel guilty there's nothing for him to open :(

MrsBri · 29/05/2013 15:11

You don't have to be engaged to go into labour, forget, they can get pushed in the right direction by contractions! :-)

forgetmenots · 29/05/2013 16:04

That's what the midwife said... She has booked me an appointment at 39+1 and hopes she won't see me! They find baby quite funny with the movement, hadn't thought it was particularly unusual but they seem to enjoy seeing me and getting a laugh out of whatever baby is up to this time...

Hawkmoth :(. That's how I get through every walk, anywhere, at the moment! It's all helping!

SunnyL · 29/05/2013 16:39

In the interests of sitting on hard backed chairs I've been grafting hard today trying to finish off the dress I promised my niece I'd make for her birthday. Just the hem to do now after about an hour swearing at the ruddy zip. No matter which way I do them they seem to involve me unpicking the seam at least 3 times for each zip. If it weren't for baby I'd have signed up for the evening classes in sewing by now!

Wrt movements last week everything felt quite muffled. Today movements are far more pronounced. Is this another sign that baby could be turning back the right way??

MrsBri · 29/05/2013 16:41

Well, if you're hopeful of being early then I'l hold onto my dream of going next week at some point / early generally :-)

My midwives love seeing me and my acrobat too. It's good to know that our babies are a source of amusement! Baby B has very waggly limbs so as they're palpating he's waving his arms and legs all over. Awwwww!

I keep saying he's doing a waggle dance like bees do when they're telling other bees where to find pollen! Can't wait to see if he's waggly once he's out.

forgetmenots · 29/05/2013 16:54

I honestly thought baby was appearing last night, but false alarm! :(
clutches mattress pads Grin

Love the bee and pollen idea, that's exactly it. Maybe they will both be on strictly some day with their moves!!

Was at least thankful that they've stayed head down and not turned back to back again (phew)!

pinkapples · 29/05/2013 16:57

Sunny my movements are very pronounced today too it's weird maybe it's cuz I've sat near enough all day and have had time to notice just want her out now

MrsBri · 29/05/2013 17:01

Ha ha! Strictly champions of the future, eh?! :-)

I know Baby B is head down as he's hiccuping into my bits for the third bloody time today. Some days = no hiccups, other days he has loads. Not sure why the variation.

I'm hoping my wandering / standing today will have assisted his drop down. Not sure it has though as I don't feel any different.

I'll see on Monday, I suppose!

AmIGoingMad · 29/05/2013 17:13

I keep getting hiccup feelings low down too mrsbri so I'm thinking this little one is likely head down. Still looking forward to scan tho although surprisingly apprehensive too!

Forget yes the names thread has had a few responses ( thanks rreow too!) although still undecided here its nice to get some opinions really. Haven't thought of boys names as we found out at scan but I'm having a little niggling feeling at the moment so I'm really hoping that they can be pretty confident and confirm sex tomrw!

MrsBri · 29/05/2013 18:08

There really is nothing more disconcerting than hiccups in your bits!

And it does sound like baby is head down if that's where you feel them :-)

I had a look at your name thread...I should have put my choice on there, shouldn't I?!

And I've been told that if if my measurement is the same on Monday I have to have a growth scan, which I'm a bit apprehensive about, so I know where you're coming from. Odd, isn't it?

forgetmenots · 29/05/2013 18:18

Haha I thought at first it was me not baby throbbing fanjo so was relieved when I figured out it was hiccups (they got a bit more vigorous!)

pinkbear82 · 29/05/2013 18:33

name choosing is so hard! but dp have managed to agree on one of each we both like, so if he isn't here for the birth I can at least know what he liked! just hoping bubs suits the name or that could open a whole New can of worms

whoever recommend antenatal group - this is my evening sorted. I am curling up with the kindle and reading.

glad everyone seems to be having more positive days today - always good.

oli hope all is going ok for you - sending lots of hugs and anything else required Smile

redwellybluewelly · 29/05/2013 18:35

Re the movements some days and not others some of it will be influenced by where the placenta is lying (it moves up and down) yesterday when we had the 38w growth scan the sonographer said placenta had moved higher as it had been behind my tummy button last time and I certainly felt more yesterday.

I didn't do any baking today after all, state of the kitchen put me off. We've someone refitting lots of cupboards for extra storage and everything is everywhere. DD came home from nursery looking like stig of the dump so bubble bath and washing machine on!

I wrote a list of jobs to do and its got 53 items on it Shock Shock Shock

redwellybluewelly · 29/05/2013 18:42

Congratulations Maisie, lovely name!

Rue how are you getting on with your tea drinking relatives? Grin and hope both baby Rue and baby camper are gaining weight, arlandria pleased things are settling down

Hawkmoth · 29/05/2013 18:52

53 jobs??? Ouch!

AmIGoingMad · 29/05/2013 19:26

Red I'm a bit scared if you have 53 jobs on the list as you seem so much more organised than I am so I'd probably have about 100 if I attempted to write such a list ( she says, burying her hand firmly in the sand)!

Mrsbri yes it's strange this mix of excitement at seeing the baby again and still feeling a little scared as you so desperately want it all to be ok.

AlohaMama · 29/05/2013 19:33

Congrats Maisie. Sorry it took so long for you but glad you have your little one now!

Um red, I am having a baby and then moving country and still only have about 15 things on my to do list currently (although it is organised by month, so that is just for the next two months). So....what are we all forgetting??!
