I've been waking up at about 5am with pelvic pain and not been able to get back to sleep, we don't have a spare room (only the cot in the nursery!) and the sofa isn't big so don't have much choice on disturbing hubby when I am trying to throw myself over in bed without hurting lol!

I am 34 weeks and not had any BH yet, I too drink a lot, probably about 6-7 pints of squash a day so that may help.

Wow 10lb, how many weeks were you?

They wanted to refer me for a growth scan straight away as am measuring under 10% but they gave me benefit of the doubt and said come back next week. I wish they had just given me a growth scan as could have put hubby's mind at rest as everything is fine I'm sure.

MrsBri · 17/05/2013 12:27

It's warranted for many biscuits! :-)

I know. I'm a bit clueless as to what is and isn't BH too.

ginauk84 · 17/05/2013 12:29

sarah oh yes what's wrong with driving 10miles for a biscuit! I went 20 mins away to our local beefeater just for some banoffee pie, lol! Just devoured a Greggs Caramel and Custard Doughnut - nom nom, hubby says I have to eat more and make her grow lots for next week!

Steffanoid · 17/05/2013 12:35

im not sure what classes as BH either, been classing tge cramps and period pains, im lying on the sofa today and not planning on moving cause of the pain in my hips, also my right hand has gone itchy and a bit swollen, id really like to have a day where I can bend my sausage fingers and them not be swollen and sore Sad

Sarah2506 · 17/05/2013 12:41

Describing it as a biscuit doesn't do it justice. It's two pieces of the lightest buttery shortbread, held together with home made jam, and dusted with icing sugar....

OP posts:
MrsBri · 17/05/2013 13:22

That sounds amazing, Sarah. I take postal biscuit deliveries! :-)

Sarah2506 · 17/05/2013 13:36

Frankly it seems no more ridiculous driving up to you than it does across London in Friday traffic to get a biscuit!

OP posts:
MrsBri · 17/05/2013 13:48

That's why you have to buy ALL the biscuits once you're there! Far more worthwhile.

How hormonal are you? Would you cry if they were out of biscuits on arrival?!

Sarah2506 · 17/05/2013 13:50

Ha, if it wasn't such an amazing bakery then yes, but there is lots of other good stuff. I would cry if it was shut though!

redwellybluewelly · 17/05/2013 13:58

BH are 'practice contractions' so they do make bump go rock hard and mine certainly take my breath away sometimes.

I get the ligaments stretching too, a lot, feels like period pain but those are not BH - its because I am carrying so low apparently.

Roll on next Friday when I no longer have to wear smart clothes!

DontmindifIdo · 17/05/2013 14:38

oh bugger, just had midwife appointment, apparently bump is small - after being ahead amonth ago, she didn't really mind that it was the same size 2 weeks ago, but now it's still the same size a month on. So I've been refered for a growth scan ideally start of next week and then another midwife appointment on Friday.

Also hips are killing me! So sore at night.

Last pregnancy was a lot easier...

Hawkmoth · 17/05/2013 14:54

I left DH in bed for an extra hour this morning, but in that time we had phonecall and a delivery so not sure if it helped! If he goes under, we all go under.

BH... Even though I should know better, I'm convincing myself that having so many, plus period-type pains, plus stabby cervix pains means that I won't have to wait another five weeks for baby. Then the evil voice says it'll probably be a quick labour... Definitely counting down now.

Olimoss · 17/05/2013 14:57

You definitely need to get all the biscuits, Sarah....I made some ANZAC cookies earlier this morning. And am trying v v and not to eat all of them. Failing, a bit.

Final appt with midwife went well, baby is deep and low (!!) and BP is not brilliant but not bad as it was so she's ok to leave me be as I'm now done with long commutes.

I should be doing stuff like packing my hospital bag, painting th fence, putting washing away....but having been out and bussed to and from the appt and done a grocery shop I'm knackered for he day. 1 or 2 things a day is my max. Uncool. I'm used to running around like a crazy lady.

Olimoss · 17/05/2013 15:00

Oh and regards BH - I don't know what I've been getting - I describe it as rock-bump. Basically my. Ump goes so hard, rock-like, and it's happening now every time I start to move, walk, get up, stand up for more than a few mins.....most uncomfortable and baby does not move at all when rock-bump is happening.

So whether they're BH or not I have no effing clue. Midwife said 'you'll know' when it's the real thing, as you'll feel them 'inside', kind of getting that slightly horrid feeling you get when you're having a pap smear, she reckons.

Nice....,

So I'm a bit paranoid and on the lookout as I have to dash to hospital ASAP I feel that shit go down, and not leave it too late to have my Csection....

Steffanoid · 17/05/2013 15:02

dontmind maybe you need to eat more, use it as an excuse that it will totally all go to bubs Grin

MrsBri · 17/05/2013 15:17

Bugger, dontmind, hope all is OK with the scan. Always something to be concerned about, isn't there? :-/

Hawk, I have stabby cervix pain. Is that a good thing?!

Your poor DH. Hopefully he will get more rest at the weekend.

My DH wouldn't go and sleep apart from me either, as he wants to be with me. It's sweet, but I know I wake him with my epic turning over a few times a night as I make such a big deal of it!

Oli, I hope your baby holds on til the booked slot for you and no emergency dashes are required!

I'm feeling massive today. Everything is so much effort. :-/

Hawkmoth · 17/05/2013 15:24

MrsBri, think its just baby getting lower and into position. I have this notion that it's actually sucking its thumb or yawning right down there in my bladder, because it's the same place as where I feel hiccups!

Like I said, I keep telling myself it's all prep for a nice easy labour.....

redwellybluewelly · 17/05/2013 15:27

Oli they sound like BH tbh - I'm on the mad dash as well - been told that if I think I am then get the hell to hospital given last labour was swift

Last time I had stabby cervix pains and still went to 42+4 so I reckon its just things stretching but no guarantee. Apparently a giveaway is also bump not only tightens but extends round into your lower back and they become regular.

Don't mind I know people say you can't see as much on a scan at this stage but pur scanner certainly showed us baby's face at 34 weeks - v cute - and I get to see them again in ten days time

DontmindifIdo · 17/05/2013 15:37

thanks, just worrying now. Have eaten a lot over the last few days - and having done one of those pregnancy weight calculators, I'm right at the top end of what would be deemed an acceptable weight gain for my height/pre-baby weight, so I don't think it's lack of calories that's the problem!

Hopefully will be all ok.

oh and back to the old "what does 3/5 palpable mean" - apparently it's how much head they can feel when they faff about, so 3/5s palpable means that 2/5s are down in the pelvis and they can't feel it, they are recording what they can feel.

pinkbear82 · 17/05/2013 15:47

blimey ladies you've all had busy days! I have to admit to having had a very lazy day, still in my pjs and reading on the sofa. I have done a few washes of baby's blankets and a few other bits while the sun is out. But really haven't pushed myself today.

The sleeping is so hard isn't it, I have to say I'm a right side sleeper really and altho I try and minimise this sometimes it's the only way I drop off. And then the wee's and the turning, all takes it toll. Did say to dp in a letter that he probably should be grateful he's missing out in this phase - altho to be fair he sleeps through pretty much anything!

Hope biscuit fetching went well and that everyone else has good evenings and all that need to stay put and allow better restful nights tonight!

cycle hope Nye is doing ok and fingers crossed the lamps did their job.

SunnyL · 17/05/2013 16:22

40 minutes of work left in 2013.......Yaaay!

Colleagues just properly embarrassed me by grouping en masse around my desk to give me a card and wish me well. Its normally me on the organisation end of these group situations - darn them! Went bright red.

Meant to be going out with DH tonight to celebrate my last day at work - can't decide if I can be arsed. He hasn't really slept after his night shift last night so I could probably persuade him with a chinese takeaway on the sofa. I'm so rock and roll!

learnermummy · 17/05/2013 16:29

I've never had a BH in any pregnancy. Didn't even pay attention to hardness of bump during either labour - will defitnitely pay attention this time!

Sarah those biscuits sound device - think you need to bulk buy and post some out to all of us Grin.

Oli - what's an ANZAC cookie? Am intrigued.

Good day here since my mum and dad came up to help out. Had my dad mowing lawn and my mum weeding and ironing. And they took me out to lunch Smile. Happy days.

Sarah2506 · 17/05/2013 16:38

I really am crazy pregnant lady. I drove to Muswell Hill, ended up parking about a mile away and then thought sod this, so went back into the main bit where I had to pay for parking. Went to the bakery. Bought three of the biscuits. They are 8 inches across so more than one is indulgent! In theory one is for DH, one is for tomorrow and one is covering my bump at the moment. Then took biscuits to Jojo and bought the Small Girl a newborn outfit - it's all 0-3 here so good to have at least one thing. Then sat in traffic home - total round trip 12 miles and nearly 2 hours!

Oli I worked at home on ANZAC day and missed the biscuits!

As to DH in the spare room, he is in there pretty much every night now. Because I snort and snore he needs to be in there to get sleep. I miss him after a few days, he returns, and then has to leave again at 3am! We had been looking for 3 bed house on the theory we will have 2DC's, but now I'm thinking it HAS to be 4, we need a spare room!

Hi can I join? I'm due 15 June, DC2. Just had my homebirth assessment visit yesterday. Really hoping to have a homebirth this time. I planned one last time but had to be induced due to obsetric cholestasis.

Also must weigh in on the important Biscuit dilemma and say it's definitely warranted to drive 10 miles for it, you are pregnant after all. Even better would be if you could get someone else to do it for you.. you are pregnant after all... Grin

I'm hoping to convince DH to go to McD's tonight because I fancy some indigestion a Big Mac. I also didn't plan any dinner so that's another incentive.

I also dislike hiccups. They feel weird. I do enjoy BH though. Call me weird. It just feels like they're getting me closer to stuff actually happening, so I really welcome them! I've been feeling them since 16w but the past couple of weeks they've become more intense.

rrreow · 17/05/2013 16:46

Oh Sarah just see you went and got it. Excellent Smile
