Cycle - I hope Nye is ok.

Sam - how lovely! hope you are both ok!

Arlandria - good luck too! hopefully your little one will stay put for a little longer so you get your hair done.

I actually had my hair dyed and cut yesterday - last time round I had it at 38 weeks, waters went the following day!

Also re lady garden maintenance, had a wax on Tuesday - decided I'd rather cope with the pain than try to faff about doing it myself.

Littlemissexpecting · 16/05/2013 13:09

Cycle hope nye is ok.
I'm taking my car for a valet, don't think that counts as nesting though!

SunnyL · 16/05/2013 13:29

Ooh lots of useful info on here today. Was thinking about getting some of that cream stuff for the old lady garden. Can't quite reach with the razor anymore. Has anyone used any of that Veet stuff since they were a teenager??

I've got 1.5 days left of work but only 0.5 days worth of work to do. Trying to come up with sensible things to do that isn't just sitting on the internet and twitter. Ideas anyone?

Littlemissexpecting · 16/05/2013 13:43

Sunny I've been using veet or what ever its called now and it's ok.
Can't see to shave and can't wait for regrowth for waxing as I swim a couple of times a week and it does the job. Stinks though!
With regards to work what about looking up recipes for things to make and then put in freezer for meals when lo arrives. Or have you got any more bits to buy? Any lists you can write? Anything you need to look at reviews for? All else fails get on Facebook and look at friends pictures, my favourite is wedding pics!!

learnermummy · 16/05/2013 13:49

I like my lady clippers too Oli Blush.

Remember someone recommending an app for tracking baby's feeds etc - Redwelly maybe?

Also, has anyone used one for timing contractions? There seem to be a lot available!

pinkapples · 16/05/2013 14:16

Oh no cycle hope Nye is improving? Keep up posted - re lady garden I've taken over hubby's electric hair trimmer things that works lovely like someone has said keeps it soft not stubble and short and tidy Grin

Still busy working away but it's lovely to read about all the babies being born now just want mine! I'm 36+2

On the hair debate I'm having mine done next Wednesday at 37+1 Grin dyed and cut and hopefully looking beautifulGrin

SunnyL · 16/05/2013 16:06

LittleMiss all very valid and probably highly useful activities I could do. Shame I'm not so totally immature and clearly too immature to have a baby I'm farting about on the internet and twitter instead.

Got a case of sausage fingers today - contemplating taking some of my rings off.

AmIGoingMad · 16/05/2013 16:08

I did just attempt a catch up post but phone seems to have lost it!

Cycle- I hope that Nye is doing better now with some help from the lamps.

Sams- congratulations!

Rue- I hope all's going well!

AlohaMama · 16/05/2013 17:00

Hugs to you Cycle and Nye.

Rue, good luck :)

Ah yes, 'gardening.' Tbh had forgotten about that down there, seeing as I can't see it. Will have to get dh to have a look tonight and do some pruning with the trimmers. I think I have Philips bikini ones, they're really good.

After today, only 4 weeks left at work - hurrah. Sadly suddenly have acquired a load of work to do before I leave. My plans to fritter away the time on fb/mnet/online shopping are thwarted. Mind you I'm not coming back afterwards so at least this time if I can't get everything done, I know it's not me who has to come back to work and deal with it!

arlandria666 · 16/05/2013 17:39

Managed to get my hair done then got soaked in a massive downpour! At least its been cut tho.
Spent most of the afternoon on the sofa got really uncomfortable shooting pains in my bum cheeks :-( so glamorous this pregnancy malarkey lol.
Cycle hope Nye is improving xxxx

pinkbear82 · 16/05/2013 17:49

Had quite a lazy day today altho did go out for a good hours walk.
I feel slightly like I was very optimistic when I booked my hair for the 31 May - I dyed it the other day, as Was looking awful and I'm sort of growing out one style (perfect timing I know!) so didn't want to book in too soon, but am now wondering if I should perhaps move it forward from being 39 weeks.

cycle hope Nye is doing ok and both you and Dh are too.

Rue hope everything has gone well.

Sam congratulations!

ginauk84 · 16/05/2013 17:54

Cycle hope he is okay.

Had my 34 week appointment and midwife concerned am measuring small at 30/31cm but should only be 32cm so she calling me back next week. Hubby is stressing am not eating enough and feeding her well!

Also got a referral for SPD and took bloods to check I don't have OC. So bit of a bad week this week but am sure it's all fine!

redwellybluewelly · 16/05/2013 18:11

I used an app called eat sleep poop on my android, will use it again this time as it was very useful for tracking length of feeds.

Didn't have a contraction timer, maybe ask in Childbirth?

I now have four more days at work officially. Colleague due week after me had baby last night, so I'm trying to finish off all my work extra speedily. BH back with a vengeance today after being at my desk all day. 50minutes until bath time.

Rue hope all is well x

RueDeWakening · 16/05/2013 18:17

Quick update (not read the thread!): Michael was born at 9.47 this morning, weighing 10 lbs 8 oz! ShockShock He's bigger than anyone expected and looks a bit like a sumo wrestler Grin

We're in recovery at the mo, doing well so far.

DontmindifIdo · 16/05/2013 18:23

Congratulations Rue! Wow, that's big!

DontmindifIdo · 16/05/2013 18:25

Sunny - for things to do at work tomorrow, why not do something that might be useful once baby arrives, make up sheets of labels of all the sort of people you will probably get gifts from and/or need to send photos of baby too - so family for both sides, good friends etc and then you can at least write your thankyou cards and just stick labels on rather than trying to find where you've got Aunty XXXx's address.

(even better, make a spreadsheet up, then do a mail merge, forward the spreadsheet to your home e-mail. V useful)

pinkapples · 16/05/2013 18:30

Wow rue that's a rather big one! Hope I don't have to push one like that out Confused glad your doing ok an baby is ok

redwellybluewelly · 16/05/2013 18:43

Bloody hell Rue hes a HUGE boy!

MrsBri · 16/05/2013 18:43

Wow! That's some size, Rue! Congratulations :-)

I love the choice of name too. Don't come across many Michaels.

SunnyL · 16/05/2013 18:46

Wow Rue - you should get your photo in the paper for that effort!

And Don'tmind that's an excellent idea and I love spreadsheets.

Steffanoid · 16/05/2013 18:47

wow rue congrats! glad im not the only one on track to have a big baby!

arlandria I had the bum cheek shooting pains also think I had a bum in my ribs earlier, felt almost like a stitch at the bottom of my ribs/lungs, I know it wasn't a stitch cause I'd been sat still like most days

got oh's little brother and friend visiting tomorrow for the weekend. even though I dont like them I can't wait cause they're taking me out for tea and doing a farmer's market with my mum on.Saturday morning which will be a nice break and people will be glad when I shut up about it on Facebook, till the next one

maisiebeem · 16/05/2013 18:57

Welcome to the world Michael! Congratulations Rue! x

pinkbear82 · 16/05/2013 18:59

wow Rue! congratulations - you cooked him well!! x

learnermummy · 16/05/2013 18:59

Congratulations Rue! Good job they didn't leave him to cook any longer Grin.

I was measuring 34cm at 34 weeks. Think they look into it if you're + or - 3 cm.

Olimoss · 16/05/2013 19:16

Nice one Rue - congrats!
