Hmm Arlandria I guess you have to see if it stops or carries on, plus ring to get advice.

It seems like there's babies just being born every day right now. Frankly I find it a bit scary and it's not helping with my denial. I have to keep reminding myself I'm a bit behind most of you lot (only 34w3d) so I probably have a bit of time yet, but it doesn't stop me getting panicky! Too much to do before this baby arrives.

AlohaMama · 15/05/2013 23:57

Opps cross post. Glad you got advice arlandria. I'm still awake (only lunchtime over here) so I'll keep watching to see if you have any more news Wink.

Oh and very exciting Rue, looking forward to hearing the good news tomorrow Smile

arlandria666 · 16/05/2013 00:16

I thought you might be the only one awake AlohaMama i did get in bed before i rang but knew i wouldn't get any sleep so rang anyway i am a worrier at the best of times.
I have left DH in bed cos he will get in a flap for no reason lol.
So far nothing else has happened apart from i have been for a wee about 4 times its all this pottering the midwife told me to do the more i walk around the more i need a wee the joys of being pregnant hey :-)

AlohaMama · 16/05/2013 00:23

Know how you feel on that. Every time I stand up (for any reason) results in a trip to the bathroom. Which is usually unnecessary - I guess it's just the pressure.

Well hopefully once you've finished pottering you can go back to sleep!

arlandria666 · 16/05/2013 00:43

I have got to ring again at 5 in the morning and they might make me going in tomorrow just to check it wasn't my waters going i don't think it was it didn't seem that much but glad i rang though because i wouldn't have slept a wink otherwise.
Going to try and get some sleep now

SunnyL · 16/05/2013 01:17

Why has no one written a love song to Gaviscon yet? Seriously if it wasnt for Gaviscon i don't think i'd be getting any sleep at the moment.

Wondrous stuff. Night night!

SunnyL · 16/05/2013 01:20

Oops just saw all the activity above. Whoop - excited for you all and thankful my little one is showing no signs of moving

redwellybluewelly · 16/05/2013 01:40

Bloody insomnia.

Rue fingers crossed!
Arlandria sounds like things could be on the verge of occurring, hope you're one of the sensible early bag packers?!

I was fast asleep, DH on night duty with toddler, woke up to have a wee and realised it was toddler having a bad dream which woke me. By the time I'd settled her and had a wee I am wide aqake but shattered. Sigh.

arlandria666 · 16/05/2013 06:01

Nothing else happened phew!
Hardly slept and had crazy dreams when i did lol! Redwelly my bag is packed although last nite i did double check everything lol!
37 weeks today so the boy is classed as cooked :-) just hope he stays in a little longer i have got a hair appointment this afternoon already rescheduled 3 times cos been admitted to hospital each time i have booked it!
Anyway now i have spoken to the midwife on labour suite i am off to see if i can get a little bit of precious sleep :-)

learnermummy · 16/05/2013 07:45

Hope you manage your hair appointment arlandria Smile - must book mine!

MrsBri · 16/05/2013 07:52

That's good news, Arlandria. Dud they give a possible explanation? Here's to making your hair appointment.

My hair is being done at 36+2, so that cut will take me through to even after induction, if I end up going that far!

Hoping Rue is OK as she should be in theatre now. So exciting and scary all these babies arriving now.

We need to set up a Facebook (secret) group or something so we can share photos of the little people! :-)

Rue's is baby number 5 from June, which isn't too bad as some months had loads of early, with some seriously early, babies.

Who is next? Or next that we know of? Is it Oli? Though no doubt we will have others before then!

maisiebeem · 16/05/2013 08:16

Thinking of you rue! Glad everything's ok arlandria, and welcome missy!
And thank you everyone for monitor advice!
I am being induced a week today, but I'm sure more people will pop them out before then! The midwife and consultant have said they'd rather I went into labour naturally (being induced at 37+1 due to Obstretic cholestasis). So husband is goin to be getting unlucky! And I have upped my dosage of raspberry leaf tea!
I had another hospital appt on Tuesday where they found blood and protein in my urine, and higher blood pressure than usual- hopefully blood test results will come back ok! I can't imagine what it feels like not to worry! And I know once little ones here, the worrying will never stop! Joy!
Happy Thursday everyone!

Sarah2506 · 16/05/2013 08:55

My hair is absolutely dreadful at the moment, was wondering how late I could leave it to get it coloured, cut etc before baby comes. Have gone with next Friday. That's 37 weeks. I reckon after that I might be less keen on venturing into central London.

So far I am finding maternity far more stressful and knackering than work. While at work I had distractions and a routine. Now I just feel a bit useless and lethargic and in desperate need of intelligent conversation. I get far more tired from inactivity than from doing stuff so trying to gym, swim or at the very least walk a few miles everyday.

My sleep has now really gone to pot. Fall asleep exhausted but awake for first wee at 3am and then never seem to get proper sleep after that.

Is anyone going to brave a pre baby wax? I can't reach to even perform a basic tidy. By the time I'm cooked its going to be blowing around my knee caps...

OP posts:
learnermummy · 16/05/2013 09:10

With all my swelling and varicose veins down there don't think I'm going to risk a wax Sarah! Will have to try and perform a basic tidy or else convince myself that it must look fine!

Feeling so lucky that I'm sleeping fine and have no heartburn issues.

Penultimate day at work today, yay!

MrsBri · 16/05/2013 09:17

Midwives aren't bothered about a, ummm, tidy lady garden apparently. Just want you to be clean, and especially to have clean feet!

I was contemplating mine in the mirror this morning and trying to work out how to make it look acceptable in my eyes. Decided I can't!

cyclecamper · 16/05/2013 09:36

Good luck rue!

A week after he was born, we were sitting in a and e with Nye. He's now on the neonatal unit with severe jaundice. He's under the lamps and if they don't work he'll have to have a blood transfusion Sad

maisiebeem · 16/05/2013 09:42

Oh cycle, thinking about you and your gorgeous boy. How long will they keep him under the lamps for? Sending Nye get well soon thoughts, and you BrewFlowersx

pinkbear82 · 16/05/2013 09:43

good luck rue!

cycle sending hugs to you all. fingers crossed the lamps work.

hope all other little ones stay put for a bit longer and everyone has a good day x

Hawkmoth · 16/05/2013 09:45

Hugs cycle. Both mine had jaundice and it's horrid.

MrsBri · 16/05/2013 10:05

Best wishes and good luck to you and Nye, cycle.

Those lamps are amazing bits of kit. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Xx

learnermummy · 16/05/2013 10:32

Sending hugs cycle. Hoping those lamps do the business. With my first I had to breastfeed him with a uv paddle up his back.

Steffanoid · 16/05/2013 10:37

hope the lamps do their job quickly cycle! im sure everything will be ok Thanks

I got stuck going into my mums house yesterday, she has a dog gate on her kitchen/living room and it's rather narrow, I now have to go through sideways and bump has a hard time getting through, in about a week or so I suspect I'll be banished to the wrong side of tge gate

hope everyone at work.chills today and everyone off work chill some too

redwellybluewelly · 16/05/2013 11:31

Don't shave! Apparently according to the NHS guidelines now this can be an entry point for infection - trim with scissors by all means but keep the blades away Grin

cycle I hope you are home quickly - have they checked liver function? The lamps can do incredible things very quickly so I hope things are looking up for you today.

Olimoss · 16/05/2013 11:54

Oh good luck, Cycle...hope all comes good soon.

I'm due for CSection on 29 May so not sure if I'm next but it's starting to feel all a bit imminent. Last day in the office today....

I had another bash at lady-garden trimming yesterday - I totally recommend, again, the lady clippers and a mirror (and a stool), it does work, it clips down to short but not stubble so it's soft and very short but you don't get any regrowth issues like ingrown hairs or itchiness. So although it's not exactly stylish (!) it's all short and under control.

I have a Phillips brand one, I think, rechargable.

redwellybluewelly · 16/05/2013 12:02

Also - 4 more days in the office after today - real issues reaching the desk now!

TMI Q - I think I smell of milk. Anyone else? I had a shower this morning, but I swear I smell of milky newborns Hmm
