Hmm will look at a few other options Hmm

ginauk84 · 15/05/2013 17:44

We have had pushchair in the nursery for a while - went with the iCandy apple cocoa special edition from eBay - I liked the brown polka dot and the shiny chrome frame Smile

Re monitor we didn't go for one with the mat as everyone we spoke to hadn't got on with them and they had either gone off continuously which worried them to death or didn't work at all. We did want one with video so picked Motorola MBP28 Digital Video Baby Monitor when it was half price at Argos. Have tested it and we're pleased, does play lullabies too but won't be using that as don't want baby to rely on something to get to sleep.

SPD is bad today and can hardly move, will report for first time to MW tomorrow and hopefully get some Physio, am really wondering how I can cope with this for another 6-8 weeks though. Some people are being induced early and even though I don't wan an induction as want to use the MLU am beginning to think I wish they could do that with me as its only getting worse. I think mine has come on too late for them to really bother much about it though.

We had our bouncer come today, it's gorgeous: www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_151096_10001

That's lovely Gina. We've had a hauck chair in the past and it was great. Hope midwife can help with the SPD.

grainmum · 15/05/2013 18:31

Rue all the best for tomorrow.

RedWelley I think I like the sound of your marriage contract. However I have to say I looked at the muslins and decided that they probably didn't need ironing. I try to do as little as I can get away with. although I do like freshly ironed clean sheets.

I too left monitor to DH - he liked to be doing something a bit techy. We went for just an audio one, tommee tippee without a motion sensor. Looks ok. My main concern is that the rechargeable battery doesn't die in a.couple of months.

Steffanoid · 15/05/2013 18:33

good luck tonight rue! will be thinking of you,

irt prams we've got the mamas and papas Luna mix, with the carrycot and carseat to match, all lime green and matching change bag, fits perfectly in the mini,

Hmm on other forums they have said they are being induced at 37 weeks due to SPD - perhaps there is something else as well then like high BMI or something.

Luckily we live in a bungalow so don't have to deal with stairs - so grateful for that! Just hate not being able to do anything, my poor dogs are missing their walkies!

Missy28 · 15/05/2013 19:05

I can't believe I have only just found this thread and I'm due on 10th June!! I'm a first timer having a little girl who we have name Mila. I feel ever so scared! I've just packed both our hospital bags and her room has been painted. Furniture arrives Monday and my baby shower is this Saturday. But I'm soooooo scared!!

RueDeWakening · 15/05/2013 19:34

Gina I know a lady with 4 kids who has been induced early due to SPD. Hers is really bad, she's normally on crutches from the start of the 2nd trimester, and hard core pain killers too. Think her last induction was at something like 35 weeks, but it's not common and her consultant didn't like doing it.

The MW should be able to help though, even if just by providing stomach sized tubi grip (this is what I find most helpful!) or a support belt. Also exercises to help, and advice on how to move and positions for labour etc. basically keep your knees together at all times, and use a pillow between your knees in bed.

2 hours till I go to hospital - bag nearly packed now Smile

MrsBri · 15/05/2013 19:52

Good luck, Rue :-)

Littlemissexpecting · 15/05/2013 19:58

Welcome Missy, I think it's normal to be a bit afraid....

And congrats Sam!

pinkapples · 15/05/2013 20:20

Good luck rue! Keep us posted as and when you can Grin

Welcome missy you sound like me first timer due with a little girl I'm due the 11th June Confused although I have a bit of that shared ostrich syndrome still working on reduced hours not sure when I'll finish hehe probably when my waters break!

Just got in with the dogs had a bath and now some sofa time I think after a long day of meetings with various people teaching me to suck eggs! Hope everyone's had a lovely day?

Congrats sam!

ginauk84 · 15/05/2013 20:23

Congrats Sam, let us have your birth story when you have a chance Smile

MrsBri · 15/05/2013 20:29

Congrats, Sam :-)

AlohaMama · 15/05/2013 20:31

Congrats Sam, hope you're feeling good and recovering well.

And good luck Rue.

And welcome Missy!

Had to re-read your post pinkapples. For some reason I read it as you getting in with the dogs during their bath. I had a strange mental image of a pregnant lady squeezed into a bath with her pooches Confused. Think pregnancy is doing something funny to my brain.

Am feeling the need to go shopping, but I can't till after my baby shower, which is not till June 8th. then it will be a last minute Amazon purchase. mind you it's mostly 'nice to have' and we can survive without if she comes early. She'll just have to be slung as we won't have the double stroller.

Steffanoid · 15/05/2013 20:38

I read it the same Aloha!

congrats Sam.Thanks

I managed to convince dp to stop at waitrose on the way home for a mountain ahem some cake, got the craving after he said something about doughnuts so have pretty much cleared their shelves to put in my cupboard and wonder just how much bigger this little boy is going to get before he makes an appearance

redwellybluewelly · 15/05/2013 21:03

I know people (my SIL) who have been induced due to SPD, there comes a point where it can occasionally cause additional problems in trying to deliver so its about weighing up additional damage vs risk of interventions.

Sam CONGRATULATIONS! Flowers

I'm going to bed at half nine from now on, my comedy of errors has only got worse the last few days and I'm sure its tiredness, I get up with toddler at 6!

learnermummy · 15/05/2013 21:52

I also read it the same Aloha!

Congratulations Sam!
Good luck Rue!
Welcome missy

My sling arrived today, along with my euan dream sheep - too cute! Nearly there now, just need to find a good deal on a birthing pool now.

Oh and I don't iron muslins either...

RueDeWakening · 15/05/2013 22:35

Thanks Smile I'm in, waiting for some monitoring tonight on the maternity ward and will be transferred up to delivery at 6am, I'm first on the list for tomorrow morning. DH has been told to be back here by 7.30, so I assume it'll all kick off around then Smile

Congratulations Sam!

And welcome Missy Smile

arlandria666 · 15/05/2013 22:59

Not sure if anyone will be able to help with this and sorry if tmi! When i went to get ready for bed tonight i noticed my knickers were quite damp and looked pink it wasn't like blood or thick pink but just like a pinkish stain?i have showered and put a clean pair of white knickers on to keep an eye on it is this normal at this stage? I am 37 weeks tomorrow x x

MrsBri · 15/05/2013 23:17

Could be your waters going as they can have a pink tinge. I'd call your delivery suite to speak with someone. Better to be safe than sorry. And maybe wear a panty liner?

arlandria666 · 15/05/2013 23:19

I have put a pad on mrsbri i think i will wait and see what's goes on there and then ring if anymore just shocked me when i was getting ready for bed :-(

arlandria666 · 15/05/2013 23:55

I rang labour suite and she described it perfectly as looking like i had spilt rose wine in my knickers which made me chuckle! She told me to potter round the house for an hour and see if there is anymore i have to ring back in an hour guess it is better to be safe than sorry
