kittykatsforever · 13/05/2013 08:51

Oh it's so frustrating isn't it, I really thought things might happen last night as so many twinges etc but now baby's head feels like its lifted again, on a good note my depression and sicky feeling also seems to have gone which I'm pleased about, have been able to clean again this morning yeayGrin but worried that means labour not imminent at all boo
Jojo I'd have thrown the bread at him, if it had fine him damage it would only be because it was too hard and therefore his fault Wink

Jojobump1986 · 13/05/2013 09:17

I was too tired to care by the time it came out of the oven! It's... interesting...! Looks like a carefully sculpted choppy sea scene on top! I don't think I could get it like that if I tried... My bread is usually bread-shaped! Wink It is edible though so that's something at least!

bringonthetrumpets · 13/05/2013 14:08

Sad I'm sorry you're having niggles with little result. I don't want to sound like the patronizing midwife, but every contraction at this point does do something even if it's not full-blown labor yet. You could be effacing, dilating, getting baby into a good position, bringing him down lower.... all of these things are good and your body knows what it's doing its just the trusting it and waiting part that's realllllllllly hard!

Dh was very sweet when he got home from work. He brought some starbucks (YUM) and got the kids off my back for a bit while I got ready for the baseball game. It was really nice just being with my boys (all 3 of them) and the little ones had a lot of fun. I was positively exhausted so slept really well and yeah....just got the crazy kids for the day today and I'm hoping we make to the end of the day without someone being sent to their room.

Just laughing about the bread, Jo as my bread tends to turn out wonky all the time

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 13/05/2013 15:06

I know it's doing something bring I just went wham into contractions last 2 times, so finding it hard to be patient. whilst knowing full well that there's nothing I can actually do to hurry it up but at least I can be safe in the knowledge that the more my body does now the less It has to do later.

I am so tired though

Lorelei353 · 13/05/2013 15:57

So many little niggles and twinges etc. going on with you all. So exciting. I'm definitely not ready for that yet but don't think I'm that close anyway. Got MW appt tomorrow so hoping to hear that baby is on the way to being engaged (I'm fairly sure it is, given the changes in my bump) and still head down (which, again, I'm fairly sure it is).

Finish work tomorrow. TOMORROW! Can't wait. So uncomfortable getting to work these days.

Lib your comment about your belly button made me laugh so hard. My DH is really squeamish about 'outies'. I have a really deep innie so have been hoping it'll stay in, and so far it has but it's got very small and shallow and is totally freaking DH out Grin.

kittykatsforever · 13/05/2013 16:36

Yeay lor how exciting to be finishing work, it is another milestone!!
I have a very deep inney and its never popped so at this stage you'll probably be ok!
I actual felt close to labour yesterday but today like a different person?! I guess it's better to atleast feel human and brighter but was looking forward to meeting the new arrival, my mw app is wed so maybe find out abit more
Had another feel for cervix bring but couldn't find it or too high, does that mean I've got abit of waiting to do

bringonthetrumpets · 13/05/2013 17:06

Ahhh yes, the elusive cervix. Honestly it all can change so quickly in terms of position and how open it is (I've seen mums go from a 5 to pushing in less than an hour) that I feel more confident with watching mum's behavior in labor and other external signs rather than focus on what I can feel with my own hands. I wish I had an answer for you. It could be dilated to a 4 right now and off to the side so you're not feeling it. You could always ask your midwife hubby to check for you as well if you really want to know.

Hahahaha Lor your husband would hate my bellybutton Grin. It's an outie all the time and it looks especially like a nose when I'm pregnant. Now it's just all completely stretched out and sorta flat!

Whattya think about seducing your dh Frus for some nudging your body along? Wink Acupuncture? Reflexology? Massage? Those are all also good ones for getting things going.

OP posts:
Jojobump1986 · 13/05/2013 17:19

My belly button looks like it's been glued shut!

I was just about to suggest DTD too, Frus! I keep telling DH we should get an 'early night Wink' but he just laughs! Probably something to do with him knowing I'm not entirely serious... I've told him that he put DS2 in there so it's his responsibility to get him out!

It'd be more convenient if he stayed put until a week from Saturday though - I've got a keeping-in-touch day booked that could be quite lucrative & would be easier to do without a newborn in tow! I suppose if he is here before then I can use him to lure people over: "Look at the tiny baby, now buy some books!" Grin

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 13/05/2013 17:31

jojo and bring he'll be lucky! I feel like a beached whale, seduction is definitely NOT on the cards, that's why I'm in the mess in the first place. Wink
An early night one the other hand sounds appealing... Zzzzzzz Wink

bringonthetrumpets · 13/05/2013 18:12

Oh, no, I hear ya. I think anything sounds more appealing than that these days. Although I promised DH he could once we hit 37 wks. damn

OP posts:
kittykatsforever · 13/05/2013 18:17

Got to say frus I'm with you on that one, seduction just isn't worth it unless it guarantees me labour Wink I may try a bout of acupuncture though
Bring I think I am an all change very quickly type, I was quick with dd my mum went in 10cm dialated without me without knowing and dsis 2nd labour was 45 mins from 1cm dialated eek
On a make everyone else feel better note I have got piles Hmm in the last few days, not too bad but I guess only to get worse with pushing HmmHmm see my body doesn't do pregnancy after 37wks, it all goes wrong!!!!!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 13/05/2013 18:33

Join the club kitty Kleenex moist wipes is all I am saying on that matter.

kittykatsforever · 13/05/2013 18:49

Thank you for the tip - not a happy bunny!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 13/05/2013 19:57

Take it back, they're Andrex ones. (And theyre puppies not bunnies Grin )

Jojobump1986 · 13/05/2013 19:58

I've found having a teaspoon of coconut oil in my hot chocolate every night makes things much easier & helps avoid such issues! Tastes like liquid bounty! Grin

I couldn't eat my dinner tonight because it wasn't an orange lolly. Hmm

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 13/05/2013 20:00

How about some varicose veins where you don't want them? Now they're attractive. although they do go away very quickly afterwards

kittykatsforever · 13/05/2013 20:23

Managed to avoid that at the minute frus not counting chickens though!
Ohh Jojo I wish I'd known that earlier as when I was at work had a hot choc every day, seems maybe abit late now.... I'd probably but it tomoz and go into labour that night lol
now you know if I don't itl be 2wjs over I have got some hazelnut oil, do you think that's work?

bringonthetrumpets · 13/05/2013 20:37

Witch hazel works wonders for healing and soothing them as well. You should be able to find it in liquid form and you can soak make-up remover pads with it and use that as a wipe. Also eating a lot of berries (the bioflavoinoids in them) and drinking nettle tea helps to strengthen the vein walls which should help the piles (and varicose veins) heal quickly after the birth. Counter-pressure in the area with a warm washcloth during pushing helps so they don't get too bad too.

Wow kitty those are quick labors!

Great idea with coconut oil, jo! Plus it's just so healthy for you anyway.

OP posts:
kittykatsforever · 13/05/2013 21:23

Thanks bring, I think ill get some tomorrow, like the idea of the washcloth but can't imagine for one second dh thinks he's signed up for that, for better or worse it may have been but I think that one really would be pushing the boundaries of acceptable !!Confused
Yes very quick and not always great ( no time for drugs lol) dsis said she couldn't even say how painful it was to go that quick, it was as soon as they broke her waters she couldn't even put the gas and air in her mouth , shed always thought people that screemed were abit exaggerating but she said that was her lol

Jojobump1986 · 13/05/2013 22:09

Nettle tea seems to give me heartburn & BHs & make the baby hiccup! Confused It's the yummiest herbal tea I've found though & makes a nice alternative to milky hot drinks. I've got dandelion & fennel teas sitting in the cupboard but haven't got round to trying them yet. I rather scared myself by researching which ones were ok in pregnancy & found a website that basically implied that you shouldn't eat/drink anything ever because nothing had been sufficiently tested! Hmm

Lorelei353 · 13/05/2013 22:31

I think I found those same sites Jojo. I drank loads of v yummy herbal teas before being pregnant but got scared off them during pregnancy.

No varicose veins or piles here but do have a lot of fanjo pain so hoping veins don't develop.

Lorelei353 · 13/05/2013 23:19

Hmm. I have a small sore patch at the top right of my bump. It feels bruised b if I I touch it. What might that be? Muscle strain? I didn't bang it or hurt myself there.

bringonthetrumpets · 14/05/2013 00:06

Haha, I hope you know I meant pushing during childbirth...which the midwife could help you out with if DH isn't up for the job Wink

Dandelion and fennel are both ok for pregnancy. Dandelion is a diuretic though, so I'd watch how much you're taking in along with how much water you're drinking. Fennel is great if you have an upset stomach or trapped wind!

Sounds v familiar Lor Usually I get it if baby has been pushing on the same spot for a few hours.

OP posts:
FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 14/05/2013 09:42

lor I get that too. And like bring I put it down to baby kicking me repeatedly in the same place

I slept last night! Woo! well between dd waking me up every couple of hours, but I can live with that

Why would we want to be drinking raspberry leaf tea? I can't remember, but I have some in my cupboard, do I want to be drinking it?

kittykatsforever · 14/05/2013 09:46

I didn't Hmm it seems only one of us can sleeper night frus!
Raspberry leaf tea is said by some to incourage labour but think its surposed to strengthen cervix and make contractions better or something
