Shootingstars I've got my 16 week check and like you, really want to hear the heartbeat and start to feel it move. This is only my first though so not surprising I haven't yet. Quite excited last night to realise I could feel my uterus in my tummy - it now seems so obvious I'm not sure why I didn't spot it before!

My SIL just gave me all her maternity wear so I'm doing alright for a while. The only problem is my work is a bit smarter than hers was, so although I'll be fine at weekends, I definitely need some more workwear. It's just annoying at the moment being in the inbetween stage!

Haylebop12 · 08/05/2013 08:55

anan that's exactly how mine feel although at 17+3 they are getting stronger. I can feel a constant pulse and then a push every so often.

Got results from quadruple test this morning (downs screening bloods) and its come back 1 in 37000 so that's a load off my mind. Just need to keep feeling baby move now and have a positive 20wk scan which is 3 weeks away!

bronze so glad the bleeding has stopped.

littleducks · 08/05/2013 09:07

Hiya everyone, I have been lurking a bit recently but haven't posted.

natalieand- a rl pg friend had bad migraines too and was able to get a prescribed medication from her mw/gp. It was paracetamol with an extra ingredient to help it be absorbed by the stomach.

Haylebob- good news on th test, how has the sickness been.

My 16 wk appointment was a bit of a waste of time. It was booked for after 5pm but when I got there I was told MW was running 45 minutes late. They had even turned the babytv screens off as it was so late before I was seen. They didn't check hb Sad or have any of my notes so didn't even know my due date. Seemed like I was providing all the info and they just checked my blood pressure. Only three weeks till my 20 week scan which I'm looking forward to.

Sparkeleigh · 08/05/2013 09:11

Lol, ananifiko I think I'm going to have to get a copy of the womanly art of breastfeeding if that's a sample!

Bronzemoth glad the bleeding has stooped and you have a scan tomorrow for reassurance!

I've got my 15 week appointment today but I rang up yesterday to find out where to go and it's not the same midwife as before so no chance of a sneaky scan for me after all. Hoping to hear the baby's heartbeat though and get something for hayfever.

Haylebop12 · 08/05/2013 09:42

Sickness is loads better thanks littleducks still constantly nauseas but no where near as bad. Have vomited a few times in the last week but I've coped!

Warlin · 08/05/2013 10:11

little ducks that's so annoying. They don't seem to get that these are more than just routine apts for us and that we look forward to them and dream of HB etc...hopefully the 20 week scan will be worth the wait.

I'm 19 weeks tmw and getting very excited about gender scan on Sun...praying LO won't have their legs crossed!

I am starving today! After 2 days of a vomiting bug and eating very little I am totally starving. I have already had cereal for breakfast, a banana and an apple and am seriosuly contemplating running out to starbucks for an almond croissant. The chocolate machine in work is empty :(

Hayle glad sickness is better. It really is no joke.

I am getting some flutters but wouldn't say they are regular and tbh I never really stop for long enough to notice! I can't believe we are approaching the half way mark already!

Anyone else struggling with motivation in work? I'm on countdown to my summer holiday and then with all the bank holidays it really doesn't seem that long until Sept when we'll be finishing

roofio87 · 08/05/2013 10:40

oh my goodness Warlin my motivation at work is 0. I feel terrible. I'm a youth worker and to be honest id be leaving anyway even if I wasn't going on maternity. I'm not going back afterwards. I sit there every session going 'only 4 more months, only 4 more months!' its terrible and not good for the young people, I just can't wait till September!!!

Flyer747 · 08/05/2013 10:48

Same here with the motivation. I'm currently grounded from flying (health and safety and insurance reasons) so I'm working at a Virgin Holidays travel agent and omg it is sooo boring, I literally have nothing to do when I'm there, apart from give out leaflets to passers by, oh and refill the brochure racks, it's mind numbingly dull. Same here roofio I keep thinking only 4 months till I can leave!

TheFalconsmistress · 08/05/2013 10:55

Morning All,

ALL THE POO TALK Shock

littleducks sorry your appointment was crap :(

My ds is home tonight Grin Grin I have missed my wee man so so much !!

My 20 week scan is tomorrow I am nervous tbh I think because the movements are not movements yet just still flutters and squirms and even then not very regular I think i will be 23-25 weeks before i feel a proper kick on a regular basis prob something to do with me being fairly fat.

Good luck to any scanning today or tomorrow will check in then with hopefully a nice healthy baby and scan.

Thank you for everyones support this week i have had few very stressful days!!

Haylebop12 · 08/05/2013 10:55

work isnt too bad for me. There are a few bits I've been stopped from doing such as pulling in delivery (im a shift manager for sainsbos) so thats fine because it means im off earlies which are 6am starts! so just doing 10-6's or lates which is fine. I only work three days but still counting down the next 19 weeks! I also have 5 weeks holiday to fit it Hmm not sure how thats going to work and if i don't take it i'll lose it and it won't be paid!

My only fear is that towards the end they'll ship me out to a supermarket (as i work in convenience) and stick me on a till!

roofio87 · 08/05/2013 10:59

oh falcon our first 20 week scan, seems like its moving fast now!!Grin

littleducks · 08/05/2013 11:02

Ooh, glad it's busy today. An sitting with dd in A&E who has either just badly bruised her wrist (my original thought) or has hurt it more seriously and I haven't taken her seriously for a week.....tbf I based the bruised assumption on her ability to use the monkey bars 10mins after her fall but the guilt and worry that I misjudged the situation is building!

roofio87 · 08/05/2013 11:25

Aww littleducks don't worry I'm sure she's fine. I broke my arm when I was 2 and it took my mum 3 weeks to take me to the hospital. I was fine!!
in other news my belly is getting so rounded my belly button is starting to turn into an outy rather than an iny!!

Shootingstarsandcomets · 08/05/2013 11:58

Hope she's ok littleducks.
Had my 16 week check, all ok. Heard heart rate after ages of looking and lots of it disappearing so obviously a wriggler! It was 146bpm so that means a girl according to the wives tale but I think it's another boy so we'll see!

Shirehobbit · 08/05/2013 12:28

Hope all is ok littleducks.

Still jealous of all of you guys getting to hear the hb at 16wks. Oh well - two weeks today to my 20wk scan Smile

I have had the worst case of the cba's (can't be arsed) at work this week, too. Is it too early to be counting days? Blush

Wickedgirl · 08/05/2013 13:08

I had my checkup this morning. All good. Heart beat 160 so I may be right about it being a girl?

2 weeks until my scan, can't wait

roxvox · 08/05/2013 13:09

I am the same with work. I am finding myself to be too easily distracted. I am still getting all of my scheduled work done, but I find I am suddenly rushing it all because I've somehow wasted an hour looking at cots on eBay!

I hope your DD is ok littleducks

My big bump appears to have decreased again. I just want to look properly pregnany now, rather than flit between bloated and tubby.

roxvox · 08/05/2013 13:21

In other news - I picked out the cotbed that I wanted a while ago in the Mothercare catalogue, and have since found someone selling it on eBay. I won it for £30 and DH is picking it up tonight! It might be second hand (according to the listing it is in very good nick aside from a couple of slight marks) but it has saved us £170 so I am happy Smile. Anyone else got/seen any bargains?

cherrycherry41 · 08/05/2013 13:30

I won some Medela 'Pump and Save' bags on ebay last night for £3 roxvox Wink

Flyer747 · 08/05/2013 13:36

Bargain roxvox, good for you, I love a good bargain. My neighbour has offered me her bugaboo cameleon for £300 it's a limited edition one and comes with everything it cost her £1000 new, I wanted a new buggy, but when I thought about it ( and saw what good condition it's in) I thought sod it and told myself to stop being so precious, it's used who cares!! And our friends are giving us their John Lewis cot FOC loving the freebies and bargains :-)

Slippysnow · 08/05/2013 13:42

I got a used baby Bjorn carrier for £20 which I don't thinks too bad considering the price new. It's going to be used for dog walking so doesn't have to be sparkly! It is in good condition though :)

takingachance · 08/05/2013 13:48

Flyer I'm grounded too and sooo bored! Mind you at the moment I have been given 'gardening leave' while they come up with an alternate job so I'm not complaining too much!

Has anyone got an opinion on the Jane car seat that you can use safely as a carrycot in the car so baby can travel flat? My head is swinging from travel system to travel system at the moment! So miffed that I sold the Quinny Buzz we had for dd, but that was some years ago now and didn't expect to need it again!!!!

34PinkLadyApple · 08/05/2013 14:05

Hi Ladies, sorry I haven't got time to catch up with everyone.. Will read it all later, hope you are all well. I'm about to leave work for my 20 week scan! eeeekk!!! Not planning to find out the sex but who knows, we may get a bit carried away and ask anyway. Been feeling flutters over the last 2 weeks, H2B felt one on Saturday. They are getting stronger by the day. Looking forward to seing 'little face' again. it seemed to have a big nose at the 12 week scan so I'm a bit frightened how big it will be now, 8 weeks on Grin Wish me luck!

Flyer747 · 08/05/2013 14:09

Taking are you the lady who is a helicopter pilot? If so I admire you, I'd love to learn to fly but the cost is extortionate....I always love it when our female captains get on the PA and introduce themselves to the passengers, the mens faces are generally a picture, and the odd comment "A woman flying a jumbo jet" :-)

Flyer747 · 08/05/2013 14:11

Good luck 34pinkladyapple
